There is life after what, at the time, seems like the end. Back when I was 36, married with a 3 year old daughter, 16 year marriage, 21 year relationship, working my tail off in a business. Came home one Friday in a really great mood, excited to see my daughter and wife... As soon as I came in the door, My wife asked me to sit down, she had something to tell me. She proceeded to tell me she had been having an affair with one of her customers, she was a hair stylist. That they both agreed to divorce their spouses and get married.
She went on to tell me I was a ‘great guy’ but made clear she felt this guy could provide her the lifestyle and material things she felt she deserved. “That I did not understand how important material things are to her... “. needless to say I was completely caught off guard. I really struggled for a month or two...even experienced what I felt were mini strokes when I’d lose my ability to speak... then one day woke up and I felt better. I saw the bright side...
Story 1:
31 years later I’m so glad of the road I took.
Story 2:
Me (36M) told my 12 yr old son that im not his real dad and his mom cheated (36F) .
Story 3:
Wife cheated on me 5 times with 5 different guys over the past 3 years, I made a s--cide attempt, and now she wants to tell the kids it's mutual.
Story 4:
2 cheating exwives. Now I can't get motivated

To the guy who's wife cheated on him five times with a different guy each time. What's wrong with you? You lost your children already because of she's divorcing you. Stay away from relationships unless you like watching your SO get railed in the marriage bed and you like to watch. She took full advantage of you and you allowed it. Don't ask for advice because you clearly won't take it because it would demand you to be a man.

Any electronics that is used for the divorce without this person commission is illegal you cannot legally look at somebody's phone even if it's in your name you're not supposed to do that specially if it has client information is illegal to look at somebody's computer or phone busy if it's client's situation you're violating somebody's privacy it doesn't matter if your husband is still illegal

@BIGEAGLEDUDE
@BIGEAGLEDUDE 3 жыл бұрын
With the third-story you need to tell your kids the truth if it their younger kids it needs to be age appropriate but if they're older particularly teenagers then you need to tell them the real brutal truth because let's be honest here if your wife says it's a mutual divorce she's basically digging herself into a deeper hole that she doesn't want to admit. Because she doesn't want to say to her children when your daddy was going through a tough time mommy found love with someone else and I'm leaving your daddy and destroying your safety net because I want to feel that gentleness from another man. Tell your kids the truth but it has to be age appropriate if they're younger and do not under any circumstances let your wife cause any Ripple effects to the kids worlds and be prepared to get your children into counseling and your wife better be prepared to handle the fire when the match is lit.

I have a feeling that he had a very heavy hand in the demise of his marriage. He became depressed, withdrawn and left his wife to deal with everything. This probably built alot of resentment and I have a feeling that she has probably tried to leave before and he made her feel very guilty, telling her he would kill himself etc, to make her stay. Then he stops everything to focus on her but this has been dead between them for some time and like I said, she stayed because he probably emotionally blackmailed her. When she finally put her foot down and said she wanted a divorce, he followed through on his threats to try and kill himself to probably guilt her into staying. People are saying she will attempt to parentally alienate him from his kids but he is the one who wants to make her look bad to the kids, while she wants to maintain somewhat if a united front. This marriage is no good and his mental health is very very poor. It does not excuse her cheating, but I have a feeling he is downplaying his responsibility in the demise of his relationship and she has probably tried to leave him....5 times already.

The Last Story is simple focus on your child and focus on your mental health. Go no contact with any and all people who continue to enable your spouse's infidelity and quite frankly and honestly you need to just tell everybody else if you're not going to be there for me at my lowest why should I even have you in my life at all. Focus on you and your child and another thing that makes me wonder does this woman even give a damn about her child since she was given visitation period because I get the feeling that your first wife only sees her son at her convenience.

In the meantime, I ate rice and beans for 9 years and now have $1 million in my 401K. I live modestly and am never giving away what I worked so hard to recapture. You only live once. We were married 32 years, 4 grown children, and she decided to do something different. I still think it was a bad idea. So ladies, if your husband that you divorced didn't beat you, didn't drink, didn't take drugs, didn't kick the dog, wasn't mean to the kids, worked a job, came home at night, paid the bills.....you probably had a pretty good deal.

Okay with the Second Story it seems to me like your wife cheated on you back in high school and that's why the eighteen-year-old ain't yours and to be honest I think it's probably one of your classmates that kept it private and here's what you got to do with a 12 year old get him into counseling get him into therapy and get him into some form of group that can help him get through this situation. In addition you need to go for spousal support alimony the house child support you name it and your wife just needs to deal with the karma and the consequences of her actions. Do not under any circumstances force your sons to forgive them mother and to hear her out. There's too angry and pissed off at her because she destroyed their family and your marriage. Give them time let them work through it it may take a year or several years but they need to work through it on their own and get through it on their own my advice go to counseling with them and work through it as fathers and Son. Also be prepared for your wife to slander you on social media and to make up false accusations unless she's prepared to lose her son's you better do what's in the best interest of you to protect yourself and them as well.

5 time cheating wife. The kids should be told in an age appropriate way that mom doesn't want to stay married she and OP are going to live apart but they both still love kids. The mommy broke a promise idea was good. Kids will always fill a vacuum in with what they think they perceive and who they feel most dependent on. They will build fantasies in their head. Telling them an age appropriate version of the truth will help fill this vacuum. Sometimes not telling the kids that OP is not the one who is responsible for the breakup is the point at which one of the kids will start to turn their back on him as he leaving his wife feels like he is leaving the family therefore leaving the kids. "why couldn't he do the same thing when I was with him." is the thought they get in their head when they see a new woman enjoying the spoils of her labour.

Children understand more than people think they do. I don't mean they understand the level of pain or the reason behind it. But they understand that their parents are not in a good mental state. They give out the most innocent advice and more often then not, they help. It's silly to say, i know. But it is true. I have seen it in my younger brother. Kids are the most empathetic human beings in the world. More than adults will ever be.

Seek someone who is experienced with this. Expectations, finances child/ children, how stepparent will treat OP's child, extended families, friends, vacations together and apart with friends, guys night out and girls night out, date nights, frequency of sex etc., and any other questions that might arise. This should either end with answer as to whether marriage should or shouldn't happen before a mistake is made and should be before people move in together but even after can still be helpful. Sometimes two good people just aren't a match but good to know this before the disaster strikes and can help weed out bad mates before they happen.

Fool. If you put you're money in a bank, guess what? You trust the bank. I've never had a bank account due to the fact they charge a fee eventhough they say they don't. And I trust friends and family.

To the op , you will learn to trust but you have to focus on your mental health first, for your son and your sake, . I dont understand this way of thinking with our culture today, You have to be married to be happy. Yet so many end. Most with cheating. You can commit to someone without that paper, Marriage isn't for everyone. And not being married doesn't make you last of a human being. I think it is all the hype with these reality shows about getting married, out doing everyone on the weddings, Please Please get some therapy to help your mental state, You did nothing wrong in wanting to love and be love, I feel like you are blaming yourself for their cheating, It was their choice . Once you get your strength back dont focus on the pass fail Marriages but focus on being happy, upbeat, and most of all healthy. GOOD LUCK TO YOU

Sound like you are looking for validation from "Somebody" Dude NOBODY can make you happy, you must do that for yourself. You must work on you, make yourself happy AFTER you are happy you can then invite someone in to share your happiness in your self made happiness for a day, for a year or for the rest of your life, it's your decision it's your world

The 3rd story, I have a feeling this guy is seriously downplaying his responsibility in the demise of his marriage. I have a feeling his mental health is extremely poor and he has not done anything to correct it outside of meds. He is very depressed and mentally not well and he withdrew into his state leaving his wife neglected in their marriage and left to deal with everything, kids, finances, daily chores....everything. I have a feeling she has tried to leave him...at least 5 times, and everytime he emotionally blackmails her with threats of suicide etc, amd she feels bad and responsible to stay. He thinks that by focusing solely on her temporarily will fix their issues, but this has been over for years and he just doesn't want to face it. It doesn't excuse her cheating, but I'm sure he begs and pleads and threatens to harm himself if she leaves because what did he do when she finally said its over, he attempted suicide. He was hoping that would make her stay and it hasn't and now he wants to use their children as a weapon by telling them mommy doesn't want to be wuth daddy anymore. People are jumping to his rescue here but he is very mentally unwell and the last thing people should do is encourage him down an unhealthy and combative path. His children don't deserve to become pawns in a game to punish the other parent. The truth is, his marriage has been over for a long time and I think his wife stayed out of some type of feeling responsible for him, but you can't fix someone who doesn't want to fix themselves. I have a feeling he is leaving alot out here to make himself seem 100% the victim. There are always 2 sides to every story.

I am sorry, but I am a man and I am 100% on the wife's side in the third story. Living with a partner in a deep depression is hell, but being the only one of the two, who is fighting the depression is unbearable. It is mutual and not just due to her affairs. They came long after his daily routine became limited to popping pills, playing video games, eating, $h1tt1ng, sleeping, repeat... It sounds more like he is upset with losing his caregiver than actually losing his wife and he wants to tell the kids it is her fault in order to punish her. If he wanted to be better, he could have taken walks, started painting, learn a new trade like hobby carpentry or even at least get a dog, so has something to keep him busy. Instead he settled for playing video games all day and cashing in the disability money once a month. Sorry, not nearly good enough! Wife has every right to walk away.

While I agree with you that the wife should have moved out long ago, and it hell to have to deal with it, but the rest is why a true deep depression doesnt get supported that well. It is sooo easy for you to say ohh just go out for a walk or take up a trade and dismiss the whole thing. When I was at my worst I would not even eat until I was absolutely starving if I could have gotten out for a walk I would have. Do not be so dismissive of computer games either. They were the only thing probably getting him out of bed, it is better than nothing. People used to say the same thing about me. Saying ohh look he just wants to play video games, until my computer broke and then I just stayed in bed for the next 2 years doing nothing.

Nerve pain guy - he should just say something mutual. she shouldn't have cheated and i am not defending her but he admits he was not a husband back then and was a manchild until he got help. sounds like she kept cheating which is also bad but just because he was better, the marriage was essentially over, he wasn't a husband all that time and her feelings didn't suddenly come back on his time line. if he is going to tell them about her cheating he should be equally willing to shoulder some of the burden for not being a husband even if there was a reason for that. she has feelings and needs so even the best reason can't stop those. however, she should have ended it back then and if not, certainly when he was better.
