After hearing rattling coming from the front end of my 2011 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, and feeling some excessive movement, I crawled underneath to notice a broken and misplaced sway bar bushing. Today I will finally be removing and replacing both OEM front sway bar bushings. Stay tuned...

What size did you use?? I want to order some new bushings for my 2004 CVPI but there is like 4 different sizes when I look on rockauto.

My sway bar slides back and forth in the bushing about .5" Is this normal or because they're shot?

There is more than likely movement in your control arms or some other bushings worn out which is allowing your sway bar to shift. Have you checked the lower sway bar bushings at the control/A arms?

@@WRECKERMANDAN I have done the sway bar links. Upper control arms, steering rack, tie rod ends, lower ball joints and the wheel bearings. All that's left are the lower control arms themselves and their self contained bushings that mount to the frame.

Interesting , It looks like those were replaced before , Why ? When I replaced mine , on my 2011 , 2nd owner 1st state police and given repair logs , they were not done , So when I took off the cap , mine were a solid piece of material to where I had to cut it off . The moogs I bought did have the split , and according to moog , it does not matter which way the slit goes. front or back , makes no difference . Just a couple of things , that may be different on others , than with yours . All in all , a very easy replacement to do .

Hey how loud was this over bumps and could you feel your car pulling to one direction sometimes? I've had everything in my front end replaced accept for this stuff and my car still pulls like crazy to the left only SOMETIMES. it's like the sway bar shifts from one side to the other and makes my car drive like ass on the highway

Maybe check wheel bearings too. This plus other missing/damaged bushings will definitely be noticeable and can make all kinds of noise.

Same problem for me as well. I've done wheel bearings, upper control arms, swaybar links, lower ball joints and the steering rack. Still same issue you describe.

@@HighPriestVaticanAssasin Hey i tracked the issue down to my tires being out of round. i had done a tire rotation and it started then... i didnt put two and two together. i swapped the tires in front around and now it tracks straight as an arrow.

Thank you for sharing your experience! Im glad you figured out the issue! It can be a real pain tracking down, with all the variables. I always like to start with the least expensive fixes first and then go from there. 👍
