Ayyyy!! Love the show and you are so right! You would think most people know you can leave unwanted babys at the local Fire house/station ect. That's the saddest part about limited sex education and mental health resources. She's definitly not the first girl to do something like this, even narrowing it down to girls who put their newborn in the literal trash; the number is high in this country. Obviously this can be a worldwide issue. It's especially terrifying in our "self destructive fire fuled" media centric countries

Mind you, I’m not buying a single thing she’s saying. But as a slight devils advocate here, there are some women out there that don’t know their pregnant until the very last minute. It happens. It’s called a cryptic pregnancy and can be pushed into two categories. Psychotic and Non-Psychotic. Psychotic would be a person with a mental illness/disorder knowing they are pregnant but are unable to declare the pregnancy. Non-Psychotic would simply be that there are no signs of pregnancy. Why there are no signs of pregnancy vary depending on the person. Do I believe this girl had a cryptic pregnancy though? No I do not. She acknowledged and knew what was happening to her. It might not have been a normal pregnancy by any means if her own parents who she lives with couldn’t tell she was pregnant. But she knew. And even if it was a cryptic pregnancy, she still committed a crime by doing what she did to that child.

“Psychotic would be a person with a mental illness/disorder knowing they are pregnant but are unable to declare the pregnancy.” And then described a psychotic cryptic pregnancy. She knew but couldn’t tell anyone. That sounds like it fits the bill? Edit: not excusing her actions. This is the first coverage I’ve seen of this case, but my first impression is that mental illness could be very much involved in this case.

I understand being young and scared and not wanting to raise the child. What I don't understand is throwing your baby in a dumpster to die. Like the officer said, take the baby to a fire station, police station, or hospital. In many places, it can be anonymous. Sometimes, they don't even ask any questions. Sadly, I feel like more schools need to add this to their sex education curriculum. I think it would drastically reduce the number of sweet innocent babies from dying in the dumpster.

This is one of those things I'll simply never understand. Regardless of your situation, you can leave the baby anonymously without question, at several places, if you're unable to care for it. There's no excuse for it at this point. Even if you don't know what to do, where to go, or who to tell just about anyone can use Google.

@@kalindadu971 I couldn't agree more. If they took half the energy & determination used hiding the pregnancy & finding a place to leave the baby, I'm sure, even if they gave birth alone in a bathroom, their baby would have a fighting chance at surviving & having a good life. The way she nonchalantly tossed the baby in the dumpster was no "accident." Repeatedly saying she's only 18 & "just turned 18 & not like she's been 18 forever" really irked me, too. Duh, that's how time works. Regardless, you know right from wrong. Then the audacity to say if he's alive, she wanted him. NO WAY! She clearly didn't bc she threw him in a dumpster like trash! A lot that goes on not only during, but after giving birth, like delivering the placenta & such. Is there no research beforehand? Just think I'll hide "it" for mths, have "it," throw "it" out, go about my day & continue on w/ life as if it never happened bc no one will be the wiser. It's the only forethought or afterthought, IMO. It's disgusting on so many levels. No excuse would be remotely valid & I have no sympathy for them. Thank God those people decided to dumpster dive when they did. They had more concern in the 911 call than she did throughout her entire interview. Honestly, I hope she never has children.

The baby suffocated & died before he was found by a janitor. & Alexee’s disgusting family is actually suing the hospital & blaming them for the baby’s death; she’s also out on release (I think she has an ankle montitor). BTW, because this particular baby overcame the odds & survived, she intended to kill that baby & 16 years for attempting to murder a newborn is rediculous. She should be in prison for life!

For everyone defending her saying she was in a panic and was in shock so it was understandable that she threw it away, I’m not buying it. That was a lot of effort to dispose of the baby, she could have DRIVEN SOMEWHERE ELSE and left the baby at the front of the hospital with zero questions. Sh** she could have left that poor child in 100 other places that wasn’t a trash can, let alone TOSS THE BABY IN THE TRASH! Even if she didn’t know she was pregnant pretty sure there’s a normal human awareness to not toss a baby in a trash can.

this is horrible. and we’ve seen more and more cases like this. one can only look at the increase of this happening and realize, it’s after all the abortion restrictions that have been happening. edit- also, her asking for her mom and asking to go to the hospital could be attempts at her trying to seem like she’s just a kid and trying to get out of the investigation
@CheySands
@CheySands 5 ай бұрын
agreed! i wish this was spoken about more. we are seeing the direct result and consequence of these abortion bans. “why didnt you call anyone?” uhm, maybe because women are getting arrested for miscarriages in this fucking country. there is no excuse behind what she did - but there are simple explanations why she chose this route.

The thing about the footage of the baby being found is that you can see the people panicking. Even with the low quality, you can tell they're freaking out, but they still did everything they could to help. And yet this girl gets off with house arrest cause she was "just a kid?" The people who found him were kids, but they still knew the right thing to do! She has no excuse.
