I live nc. I love ga I look my history there's no such thing as the hood it call. Neighborhoods real places situations see outside looking in. People they would say that trying fit in but it's like putting up a trump statue saying we will overcome you need to get back up and get your facts straight cuz we don't really believe in the neighborhood a to z all 50 states and when you make plans to go over seeing you to another country you need to watch it language because over there there are people too they're humans just like him everybody's equal around world you get to forbidden fruit because it looks so call crime but hear me out crime drugs robbery that on west south east north parts all towns. Drugs effect all colors all income jail cells have seen had seen. people from all walks of life all towns. judging town neighborhoods you must be drinking from rose colored cup living in crime free fantasy world as you say good right they have families they work love party live best way they can it's about survival you know what I'm talking about have you ever been to the pawn shop even if your appointment or buying that means you must can't afford the real thing so hey you know what I'm talking about and to say the hood no no no no no you got it all wrong they call it neighborhoods there's no lower high class neighborhood it's a town communities yes cigarette that's been over with I can't say my brother but it's been over it and to bring that back into notation into 2021 best taboo it's good to speaking history but not like that it's not good to crush somebody else's dreams it may not have much but it says they were hard for it and for those who are not working that's around the world not just enjoyed so I don't know where you coming from where you living at and you talking about thinking of moving to Georgia you should consider it he says the hood welcome to the neighborhood

I'm from nearby Dawson, GA and growing up, Albany was a great city to live, work, and play before the flood of 1994 destroyed the Eastside where it was once flourishing with stores, restaurants, etc. Thankfully the Albany State University East Campus is still standing after surviving multiple floods. Despite the decline through the years, I would love to see it flourishing again.

I lived in Albany for five years while working at Marine Corps Logistic Command. I liked Albany because of the layout of the city. There are alot of extremely nice residential areas including farm land that surrounds the city. There are a couple of areas that you need to be careful in but to me it is not the same as a big city hood. To me it is just lower income folks. I got my haircut in the hood and also ate at various restaurants in the hood. I never had a problem with anyone. To be honest now that I am retired I am seriously thinking about buying ten acres of land and building a 3000 sf home there.

I am a Senior Citizen of Albany, Georgia and I wouldn't live no place beside it especially at a time such as we are living in today. Albany, Georgia have an excellent Police Department which makes Senior Citizens top priority as they do our young people (babies) I raised 3 adults people here from Albany Educational Systems, Albany offered my children an excellent opportunity from Kindergarten to Master Degree from its University. Albany, Georgia is a great place for Senior Citizens and a great place for people to raise their children and educate them from Kindergarten to a College Degree with a good police establishment watching over them, Albany, Georgia may not be the best, but it's not the worst 😉

As an older resident of Albany, I can tell you that Albany for the most part is an okay place to live. But it is dying, has been for years, sadly. East Albany used to boom with business & life, not so much anymore, everything's gone to west side & Lee County. Most people around Albany are friendly, helpful, & decent to everyone, than you have those who would steal you blind, only out for themselves, pretty much the way it is anywhere else. Would I recommend Albany as a place to move to, depends on what you're looking for. Small town, quiet life...few good paying jobs to be had.
@JayJackson1981 Жыл бұрын
I grew up Eastside Albany and moved away years ago and just recently moved back. I can't believe that there's nothing on the Eastside anymore. It's sad.

I grew up in Tallahassee, but my mom was from Albany so I spent time as a child at grandparent's home off Radium Springs Road(Drive?) . House was on the Flint River, flooded up to the door handles and condemned/torn down when that horrific flood hit the area in 1994, but my family had sold the house in 1976 (I was 13 yrs old) after death of both grandparents. The adults use to tell me about the B52's flying right over the house. Other memories from visits to Albany: getting ice cream at The Arctic Bear. Grandma's late 60's Lincoln Continental which had floorboards so roomy in the back seat, I could sit down and play with toys. Adults dragging me to Doublegate Country Club with them which meant I had to dress up. Merry Acres Motel and it's restaurant. Swimming at Radium Springs. Meeting my grandparent's close friends who all said "why I remember you when you were only this tall!". Joe Powell, Jesse Walters, Martha Lovejoy are three I remember. Oh, Frank Middleton (OBGYN). My uncle taking me on a tour of WALB Channel 10 where I met his friends Susie Jacobs and Gill Patrick, who my uncle called Patrick Gill because he knew it bothered the guy lol! My Aunt owned the Carriage Trade during it's later years, closing it when big box retailers became everyone's first choice and customers stopped coming. My only remaining Albany family, the uncle who took me to see WALB, remarried and moved just north of Albany into the next county and lives on Lake Blackshear.

@jubed0ll2 жыл бұрын
I lived at 1111 right off from the south slappy intersection. It's still not all bad in that area, but the house across and down the street was constantly busted for prostitution, and drug dealing. If you're heading in the direction of Magnolia it's not as bad. Mostly elderly folks and families.
@thebluelunarmonkey2 жыл бұрын
@@jubed0ll I'm guessing maybe 1200 or 1202. The only two memories I have was opening the fridge at age 4 and around that same age I somehow got out at night and walked almost to slappey before a patrol car picked me up right at where dunbar's bbq is now... I remember seeing that dip in the road just before slappey. Gonna have to ask my sisters if they remember the house number, I'd like to go back. Last time I visited there was '92
@jubed0ll2 жыл бұрын
I lived there 10 ish years ago. It was a small concrete one bedroom on the same side as Jaxx liquors. The "hood" in the country for years was called the "bottoms". I grew up in Ellaville, it's about 100 miles from Albany. This just looks like, for the most part, neighborhoods in the country....whereas some folk take care of their homes and others don't. Typical of ANY rural town. Also, the projects in small towns are NOTHING like the projects in the inner CITIES...for those that don't know. 😊

It has been dangerous since 1980s. People are in denial! Hell, I left after I graduated from Albany State. I am from Albany. I tried to teach there in 2012. I never had students to get upset about talking about having goals and dream to get out of poverty. These students were like what is wrong with being poor. I just couldn’t stay and teach there. Sadly, I came back to metro Atlanta. I have taught in Clayton for over 10 years. I have been able to get students to think about life and the future. Economics play a lot into everything that goes on in Albany. It has been like that since I was a child.

Thru Grade 3 Magnolia Elementary, I think on the left side of the street. 8:27 looks like the playground (Gillespie Park?) on the right where I used to play. We had those big trees on my street too that reached over the road. I guess the trees were planted or transplanted in the 1940s when the homes were built.

Jose my husband and I used to have our morning coffee and enjoy listening to you and personally love you and Katie.Lately though we have to turn you off . The constant put downs of others is childish and we always taught our children not to boost your self worth by putting others down.You do that a lot to other utubers and perhaps if you would stop your viewership would go up.I realize this is your channel and you can do what you want but we really want you and Katie to succeed. I am speaking to you as if you are my own family.We do love you and hope no offense is taken.
@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS3 жыл бұрын
Do you understand they are putting out misleading information just to make a dollar. The truth has to be said. If their videos are wrong ima say it. Cuz they are impacting where people move with wrong information.
@susanjoseph2363 жыл бұрын
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS I do understand what you are saying and admire the way you want to tell the truth. There is never anything wrong with telling the truth.As to the number of people.moving because of what other utubers said I don't have the stats on that and if you do please tell. Please don't underestimate the intelligence of people(although it can't be helped sometimes..lol) .It has been my experience and I am far from being an expert that people research more than utube channels when they plan to move.As someone who is a plain speaker as you are and loves the truth as you obviously do I learned that there is a better way to "put things out there" and get more people to listen. Again you and Katie are loved and we want your success or I wouldn't be commenting you would just be turned off and never watched again.

Albany is one of the poorest cities in the country. It’s been under Democrat control and policies for many years. With that being said, it has an extremely high crime rate and the education level is way below the national average.

Albany doesn’t have any hoods, It just a city that went into despair from no real strong jobs, local politicians still runs that racial divide . Very good place to visit but when Taxes are properly dispersed, the city will revive itself. Trust me on that. Also you missed a lot especially on the east and west side for sure.

Slappey is named after the Slappey family who owned a large dairy on the south part of Slappey drive in the 40’s and 50’s they sold a large portion of land to the city to build part of the road with in exchange the city named the road after their family name
