The mayors, governors, who ever runs or controls the money has to be for the elites. We have a park called turtle park as an "iconic" park in Albany right; and it took me years to figure out the meaning behind it! They gave us Turtle Park because it represents us being SLOW, a slow retirement city. I don't know how to get in contact with the folks who run this city but I'm just catching on to whats been going on in the world, in my city for that matter. Anyway, all I will say is we need to start buying land and buying back everything we need to take back not just Albany, but this planet. Only sleep people will miss the message. But thats fine. Just know I'm watching. Peace.

I was in that city 2018 after hurricane doing insuranve work. It was dangerous at times a man was shot behind the hotel I stayed at while working. I was awaken early in the morning to a huge fight with 6 dudes just unloading on each other. Many things were not open due to storm damage. I have been all over the community it is very depressed in many areas. I met many nice people who live in town but It is rough.

Most of Albany is slum though. Statistics of Albany says its 98% safer everywhere else in the country than Albany. I am from Albany. I see the daily crime statistics posted. Deaths at least 3 to 6 murders a week.

Albany is HORRIBLE, I’m from here, born and raised. I’ve traveled and lived in other places like FLA, VA, SC, & CO. There’s no place like HOME .. Albany is so different in a negative way … senseless killings, lazy parents , drug driven , rude people everywhere , … the list goes on and on … i despise Albany, Ga. Van Buren ain't that bad. From First Ave down to Oglethorpe all the to the Flint River encompasses down town Albany but the neighborhoods around Albany High and Phoebe Putney can get pretty rough. But you van navigate thru most situations that you may find yourself in if you know how to handle yourself. And do not be so ignorant(like yourselves) about how the southern people live and love.

Where you thought was the hood is on the edge of the creeping hood. Town used to be prosperous until the hood element took over the political structure and 75 percent of the city. Many of the people interested in building rather than taking moved and so those areas you show are much worrse than they were 20 to 30 years ago. What is amazing to me is the fasination with the destruction of a once prosperous city. Most of the remaining prosperity moved to Lee County. However given the current growth and size of the hood element its probably a matter of time before they that also. The political structure of Lee County is much different than Dougherty currently so maybe they will hold out. A sad story when it could have been different.
