Second guy was a complete chump. What motivation would your friend have to lie? To all you young up and comers out there, know this: it takes A LOT for one friend to come to another and tell them their s/o is being unfaithful, simply because they know that there's a likely chance they're about to become the bad guy. If you've got a friend who tells you she's taking her pants off for other guys, learn from this guy's mistake and believe him.

@@nem5217 Our secondary school did such a thing, biology class. Blood types were tested, and we were told we could ask our parents for theirs. This was 1998 or 99. Stuff got cheap enough to not worry about the costs of such tests and we could have fun with it. So many did ask (not needed but for funsies and 1 extra point) and we did the practical test. 4 out of 32 or so, did not match up at all, and no telling how many had the wrong paternity and got "lucky" with blood types. So questions came up about "but did I do wrong because this means my father could never be my father". Test checked, and then it became "we cannot interfere in that area, ask your parents if they gave the right blood groups". It was stopped not long after because the year before they also had this problem. No idea how many classes did this test in total. Some really angry faces in my class weeks after. And 1 new dad that came to pick up his girl and she screamed and spit in his face. It was glorious. I hated her guts.

First story is just a guy that doesn't understand what the death of a marriage means. He's angry now because he's still grieving. He still loves the illusion/false image he had for his wife. And he HATES her for killing that image. Anger is normal. And anger is normal for his kids, they were betrayed too! They are grieving too, not just mirroring him. Therapy for him and the kids will help process these feelings, and maybe he'll let those feelings happen instead of fighting against them. It's super unhealthy to deny feelings of anger, and to try and deny others their feelings of anger. It'll take a long time, but those feelings of anger will turn towards indifference. Which is the ultimate goal of the anger he's feeling. In the grieving process we call this acceptance. But for the wife that has lied to and used him for many years, she's still alive. Her image is gone, but that's what he needs to bury and grieve for. Not the monster that's left behind. The monster that believed it was okay to parental fraud this man for multiple children, and waste his good years nurturing her instead of someone that would actually love him....that creature will wind up alone. If her children forgive her, that's fine. But that's not for you to decide. And you shouldn't push them one way or the other. She's not your problem anymore. You be there for those kids, but not as the husband figure, only father figure.

The positive here is that's clear the relationship between OP1 and the daughter is likely going to be fine going forward. Therapy is a must. What also likely needs to happen since it's clear OP1's feeling toward his daughter has not changed is to adopted her to give the daughter some piece of mind going forward and to make it clear she will always be his daughter.

My advice with the first story is simple you need to let your children work out their anger and frustration with their mother on their own don't try to force them to talk to her because then that's only going to make their hatred for her even more intense and it may grow some resentment towards you for forcing them to have a relationship with her. It's time for your soon-to-be ex-wife to learn the consequences of her actions and it may be that she loses her children not speaking to her for good number of years because of her selfishness especially when it comes to your own daughter. Because let's be real here you know you're not going to leave your daughter that abandon her but in her mind she has that intense fear of you abandoning her because of what her mother did to you and her. Get yourself some therapy get your children therapy with do not force them to go and have a talk with their mother because all that's going to do is intensify the hatred for her and maybe some resentment to you later on down the road.

I don't blame OP for feeling the way he does. He just got hit with a sledgehammer to the heart ❤ in discovering that (a) his wife cheated, and (b) his daughter is not his biologically. I admire his restraint given the circumstances. He and his kids should seek counseling. Fortunately, his daughter only sees him as her real father, and vice versa. That bond surpasses biology. In that regard, he is blessed. If there's any consolation, his ex-wife is already suffering the consequences of her infidelity. Karma is a bitch! She can't hide from it. She has been put on blast and exposed to the whole family as a cheater and adulteress. She can't spin it in a way that benefits her. She can't gaslight him. Her reputation is destroyed. If that puts a smile on OP's face, I ain't mad at him. I'd feel the same way.
@Deathmonkey361
@Deathmonkey361 3 жыл бұрын
I have to laugh at OP from story 1, his wife looked him in the eye and lied for years to his face betrayed his trust made him take care of another man's seed and all he can say is "I'm scared of what I'm feeling" no wonder therapy business is booming as men we've been told for decades not to show any emotion to keep it inside it's a weakness "not allowed to cry or your gay" "not allowed to have an emotional outburst or your childish" "not allowed to get your own back or your jaded" What OP is feeling is a natural reaction to being lied to, humiliated and used like an old tampon, OP is a genetic dead end. I do hope he realises that allowing her to have no comeuppance just dives home the no accountability for women that commit paternity fraud the family should be disgusted with her actions and the child should realise what a scumbag she is, just OP gets to the bank to get his half and set up a divorce lawyer ASAP before she cleans him out of house and money. OP should embrace his negative emotions and channel them into a productive outlook, like workouts or a hobby cus denying the negative feelings is worse than feeling themselves, talking to kids about this should be about the truth and not forcing them to talk to her as that will just cause resentment If I was in the shoes of the kid I would never speak to the mother again as what she did to her kid was 1: Stopped a relationship from the bio father 2: Forced a innocent man to be a father to a child that wasn't his. The dad may not be blood but he is more family than her, here's to OP maybe finding a woman that doesn't cheat and treats him like a person and not a doormat.

I feel sorry for the first OP and hope he sees his way through this for him and his children. He should sit the kids down reassure them of his love and devotion no matter what. He also should tell them that while they are all understandably hurt and mad at mom right now she is their mom and they have the right to choose what relationship they do or don't want with her . There will not and should not be any backlash or hurt feelings from him or either sibling over what relationship either of them chooses with her now or in the future. Bottom line it's their mom and own personal choice which will be totally respected and accepted by all of them. The second OP was foolish in just asking his ex about the friends allegations and expecting the truth if it was true. This situation is where you don't say anything or act differently because the info might be wrong but take that info and start digging and investigating. If there is anything you will find it and then drop them into the dumpster where they belong . Third OP , If you have reason to think your SO is cheating then they probably are, your gut isn't telling you somethings up for no reason.

With the Second Story you need to get DNA test on both of your boys and quite frankly you need therapy for yourself because let's be real here this is one of those situations where this woman not only mentally and emotionally abused you but took advantage of her your love and kindness and basically lied to you for almost a decade of your life cause you to doubt marriage all together and almost cost you going to suicidal depression and stole from you. I wouldn't be surprised if she what do some trauma in her life that made her feel this way.

But didn't think to ask her co-workers. Like if i was told that my husband was cheating. I would first go get information at her work since I was told everyone knew. Then I would ask him /her

Whether you are a man or woman, why the hell don't you have an exit strategy when there's problems in a relationship? Think of it like death. What would you do to prepare in case a loved one is gone? You need to make plans to reduce the pain and move on. When you buy a car, do you expect to keep it forever? Most people can't because the car will die on you or it won't do what you want it to do anymore, so, you have to make plans to replace the item or live without it. The same goes for relationships. Why are people so inept at realizing that good or bad interactions between people change and you need to adapt and safe guard yourself. In some ways this is an addiction response where the injured party just doesn't want to stop even though they know what they should do in the first place.

Story 1 - I'd let the kids call the shots. Your daughter is old enough to decide if she wants to talk to her mom. Your son might be mirroring what he sees. Get a divorce and send her to the streets. Then consider therapy once the divorce is done. Story 2 - If there was a Biggest Simp Award, you'd win. Story 3 - Bro, let's use some logic. If it looks like she is, acts like she is, and sounds like she is... SHE. IS. CHEATING.

My wife thought that I was cheating on her. I hiding credit card bills and being a little sneaky with my phone . Our son was killed in 09 and he had a son who lives with his mother in Alaska. This had been killing my wife. Because of the global issue we had not seen him in a couple years now she broke her ankle in January and she has been in the bed since her surgery. She flipped out on me and she thought that I was seeing someone. But I have been working on getting him down for the summer and he and his mother are moving back towards the end of the summer. His mother is sending him down with all of his stuff and his furniture. I had been working on getting a house for them to live in. I had to go see the houses that she would pick out for them and we found her one that needs a little work that she wants to do herself when she moved in it. I had to setup my grandson’s travel with his belongings and a flight for me up there and driving back home in a moving truck. He almost slipped and told her but I cut the phone off on her. Her birthday is in may and my daughter in law and grandson are going to drop it on her birthday for her. But I had to let her know that she has nothing to worry about because I know that she is a pit viper in a divorce court and I don’t want her ever going after me again. lol hopefully she loves her gifts. My daughter in law’s parents don’t know that she is coming back home yet either and it’s been hard to keep it from everyone. The biggest thing was that she thought that I would cheat on her. I cried when she asked me about it. Because I couldn’t show her what I had done. Our oldest daughter found out and she spoke to my wife and told her that she needs to just chill until her birthday.

If they are in the middle of a divorce then him bad mouthing her everywhere would actually make him look worse in court. It would ESPECIALLY look bad if he badmouthed her to his kids. Also that happens the other way too. My sperm donor would do everything he could to twist us against my mother all while my mother never said anything bad about him. In fact she never even spoke about him.

For real, that last guy's advice to the married man who's wife OBVIOUSLY is cheating on him cannot be more solid. I mean - waiting until night to just grab her phone, then take off before she realized what happened... what can see do after that? It would be a good idea, though, if he had his own recording device going before he pulls it off, so that she cannot accuses him of physically attacking her to get her phone, like a camera in the bedroom of something, but, if he's seriously about getting answers to his questions, that's the move to do. ... Right after taking to a shark and starting the divorce procedure, of course.

"Kids don't care about biology?" Really? Sorry, that statement as way too broad. Regardless, everyone deserves to know who their real parents are. That's right, their "real" parents. There are vital issues pertaining to medical history, and that's only part of the equation. It's wonderful if someone has a great relationship with the father that brought them up, but you can't lie to your children about something like this -- it's hard to think of anything more important.
