After watching a lot of bodybuilding video on YT, most of the trainers and information start becoming generic. However I learned a shit load from these videos. Glass is like a bodybuilding guru, and the host did his thing as well. Cheers.

I hate to bring up the elephant in the room, but the lat is one muscle, all you can do is make it bigger, you can't work the bottom half specifically to make them lower. The fact that some people have high lats is a genetic trait, not as a result of doing pulldowns wrong. Also, regardless of grip, to the degree that the upper arm is moving then the back is working, regardless of what the forearms are doing. Gripping hard or not, twisting the hand or not. There's a lot of quasi gym science here.
@lesleylesley9997 жыл бұрын
ur chest is one muscle too however u have upper and lower chest as well as an inner and outer chest.
@garrysanon34157 жыл бұрын
Luke Lesley The chest consists of 2 muscles (Pec minor & Pec Major).
@bbblackwell7 жыл бұрын
Luke Lesley Training for "inner" and "outer" chest is not a thing. There is a difference between upper and mid/lower chest, however, and though you can't use one without the other, you can focus on upper chest because it is actually separate. As Garry said, there is also the pec minor, which is under the pec major, but it cannot be targeted specifically. You can only separately target a muscle that has a different origin and/or insertion point. The Biceps have two muscles, but they share an insertion and origin, so they cannot operate independent of one another, and thus cannot be targeted. If they could, it would be possible to develop an outer bicep to the complete exclusion of the inner bicep, which would be physiologically ludicrous, and has never happened. You may feel more tension on the inner chest when doing certain exercises, but that has to do with leverage/angle of pull, and it does not mean you will grow more in that area. The muscle fibers run horizontally/diagonally, and a fiber can't grow on one side but not the other.
@bbblackwell7 жыл бұрын
Dazzling27 Axel Just because you "feel" the exercise in a different place doesn't mean you will grow more in that place. You can't grow the bottom lat without growing the upper. It is one muscle, and if it could grow more on one side than the other, it would create a dangerous rupture hazard at the point where the two areas met. Your body will not do this. Plus -- common sense -- if it were possible to build muscles on one side, but not the other, don't you think we would have seen someone with a huge lower lat but a small upper lat by now? Or a man with a huge inner chest and no outer chest development? You can grow a muscle or shrink a muscle, lose fat or gain fat, but that is all. There is nothing else you can do to alter the look of a muscle.
@jalenad116 жыл бұрын
You need a better understanding of exercise physics. Yes, you will work an entire muscle during a contraction. However because of insertion points, certain fibers can undertake more stress than others at specific angles. ie, tricep pull downs work the whole tricep but don't have the sample emphasis on the muscle group as the tricep kickbacks, incline press will stretch and grow a different part of Pec Major than decline press. Using the joint as a fulcrum and the weight resistance as counterbalance, you can stretch fibers in certain areas more than others at angles. More stretch=farther contraction of the fibers= roughly equates to more muscle damage and oxygen to the muscle= more growth. Without taking into account time other tension etc.

Though I love em Dls r more of a leg, hip, n glute movement then anything else .. Plus the row technique he's using is gonna fry the muscle groups in the back that do benefit from Dls way more then they would..
@star.soaked.wanderer8 жыл бұрын
He said you don't want to squeeze too hard because it'll take emphasis from the back and put it in the forearms. wat
@MassGainingGuy8 жыл бұрын
Yes...you use your hands as hooks and pull with your elbows. Don't pull with your hands.
@star.soaked.wanderer8 жыл бұрын
+Nantille Boards pulling with your hands will put the emphasis on your biceps, not your forearms.
@MassGainingGuy8 жыл бұрын
+David Keahey Put your arm out and squeeze...Do you feel your forearms tightening? Yes, biceps come into play as well. There is no right or wrong answer, just do what works for you.
@star.soaked.wanderer8 жыл бұрын
+Nantille Boards anytime you close your hand it flexes your forearm but this can't take anything away from back activation because only your back and biceps move the handle towards your body, the forearms and hands merely grasp the handle. the "pull with your elbows not your hands" cue moves emphasis from one pulling muscle, your biceps, to the other, your back. your forearms aren't a pulling muscle.
