KHIA LAMBERT if you read this i just want you to know you did so good!! Your mom and dad should be very proud of you! We were cheering you on in the trial chat👏👏👏 you were focused and stood your ground when defence asked you questions. And not only did you do your mom and dad proud but little Laila proud! You were her voice reaching down from heaven and speaking the truth. Laila had no voice but through you she does. And millie will always have a big sister in you, even though you are apart. You and millie will always be connected. I think God is telling you something very special, i think that God is telling you that you will be a protector of children, that you will be their voice . Follow that path, a career in a field that involves protecting children or seeing that children who have been harmed gets justice through court. You did a fantastic job today and we all are proud of you.

You guys don't understand how court works. Sadly, court isn't fair by our standards. Often there is no justice bc of it. It's a system with many difficulties & restrictions that have made what we consider fair & common sense, relatively unapplicable. Defense attys are required to give a vigorous defence for their client, which is what the defence atty here is trying to do by trying to trip up witnesses &/or intimidate or discredit them. They will, & can talk in a way that we might think may intimidate the witness. This is the same for prosecuting attys. Each atty's job is to discredit any testimony that doesn't support their side. Real court doesn't follow the rules & methods we often see in movies. (I'm not trying to support this defence atty in any way, just trying to explain why the judge let her talk to the witness in a way that made us feel uncomfortable.)

Khai, you are an articulate, brave, and compassionate young Lady. I choked up several times listening to your testimony. I thought of you as an eleven/twelve year old little girl. You were the person that those two babies felt comfortable and safe with. Even in their little hearts and minds, they trusted you do very much, because your innocence of childhood matched theirs. They knew that something wasn't normal and/or right about what was happening to them. They expressed it to you Khai, in the only way that they knew how, especially Millie, in the ramblings of a child. You were the one true safe haven for them. I am so sorry that you had to see the physical bruises of their abuse up close and personal. You were a child also, and I can only imagine how you were trying to process all of that. I pray for peace and goodness over you for all the days of your life. Millie will always be connected to you, and Laila was blessed to have you in her short life🙏❤️

@@mss1500 It's a difficult thing for many attys to do, but when you have a client you have to park your personal feelings about that client at the door. Everyone has the right to be considered innocent until a judge or jury decides otherwise, & your client is entitled to be vigorously defended, so you have to fight to get them the best outcome, This means always appearing supportive of your client (even though personally you might think they're guilty). It means being on the attack with anyone who may establish in any way your client is guilty, bc its your job to somehow prove they're not.

I can't stand the way any of them turn simple questions into a PhD dissertation so that they confuse the person they're trying to get information from. There is something dangerous in that - and more than a little bit of trickery. None of these questions is designed to get at the truth - the truth is simple. And the witnesses - they all are up there trying to figure out if they are gonna be found at fault or culpable for something they said or didn't say or something they saw or didn't see sometimes YEARS later. This is crazy. This girl was 12 when this happened and she's 16 now. How reasonable is it to assume that she would remember ANYTHING from 4 years ago? It's a good thing they took down her statements, but let this be a warning - don't come back 4 years later remembering VITAL, IMPORTANT, CRUCIAL facts that you didn't recall immediately AFTER the incident happens. How is it that she didn't remember to write down that this child literally told her, the person she felt safest with, the person she confessed her horrible experiences to without even having to be asked - how is it that she forget to write that she TOLD her "Khia, Miss Jennifer Killed Laila!" or that "Miss Jennifer dragged Laila down the stairs" - those would have been the first things I wrote down because those would be the most alarming things I could have heard coming from such a small child. I am also surprised that they saw bruises and didn't take pictures of their own just for their own records and protection. There is something very broken about a legal system that takes half a decade to litigate heinous crimes like this. This is just crazy. Even listening to Millie testify - it's absurd to think a 9yr old will remember in great detail something that happened when she was 4 and 5 - I don't care how traumatic it was. Her brain, at that age, is resilient, young, flexible, fluid - creating and mapping and growing. She moved into another house and started making new memories and new connections to replace the old ones. And this young lady, too - she was a tween when this happened. She's become a teen and is living the hectic and peer pressured life of an American teenager - I would hardly expect her to remember enough details about something that happened that long ago. She did well, though. She sounded confident and sure of herself and her previously given statement. I cannot the DA lady - she's condescending and her questions and assumptions are almost asinine. I want to hear Jennifer and Joseph testify.

Khia’s testimony reminds me of the abuse I endured at the hands of the step-gremlin. My mom died when I was really young but as I got older the Gremlin knew that I wasn’t the one to play with. My Dad, was unaware of the abuse. Of course most was not physical but there are many ways to abuse a child. It’s a long story for me. My father expected us to act like civilized children, obey and respect all adults and believe me, he always knew if we did something wrong. I am almost 64 and remember every lesson my dad taught me. Of course as a teen, I didn’t understand and wanted to be like all of the other teens I grew up with. The Gremlin purposely got a job with Social Services so if my Dad put her out, my siblings and I would have been put in separate orphanages. My dad was a well respected man who worked hard to take care of us. He knew that I was upset, even suicidal as a teen but as an older adult about 5 years before he died he asked to speak with me which was around 2013 and he explained a lot to me. It’s crazy how he went to work, never hospitalized, took good care of himself and was actually mom and dad to me my whole life. He was weak and sick at home on a Tuesday, well enough to sit in the living room with company and the very next morning, he had died while asleep in his recliner. He had always been tough with us when it came to respecting the Gremlin but the minute I heard that my Dad had died, I called the Gremlin and trust me, held back nothing. She learned on that day exactly how I felt about her. Yes, I cursed her ass out, called her every name she deserved and have never, ever set eyes on her again. I sure hope that I don’t as I walk with a “METAL” cane. I respected my father but when he was gone (deceased), that agreement ended. She was only 10 years older than my oldest sister when my mom passed. The Gremlin was 18, my sister was 8 and a fighter. At that age she use to whomp the Gremlin’s ass but my dad stepped in. Anything my sister needed she had to ask my Dad and that was fine with her. I am close to the Gremlin’s mother and the Gremlin’s siblings who do not like her either but I understand fully the what, when, and how’s she ended up in our home. It’s what my dad wanted as he wasn’t into traffic in his home, he never smoked, drank, or partied and as an adult, if we had Thanksgiving, a cookout or any kind of fun family event he was always welcomed, came alone and stayed as long as he wanted without the Gremlin. That was a highlight for him because the Gremlin tried to keep him away from his children and grandchildren. We made sure NOT to invite her. No one liked her, I certainly didn’t and she knew it. I am not a mean person. I love most people. Doesn’t matter the color, race, gender, size, the list goes on and on. Just like genuine people. Hate is a strong word. I absolutely with no hesitation at all HATE the Gremlin. The last laugh was on her because she thought after I left home, she would have this wonderful relationship with my Dad. Ha ha, he gave her a copy of the agreement that they both signed and had notarized in July 1961 which stated that she would live in our home until the youngest of his Mickey’s children left home. She would be at the age to marry and have children. My Dad was grateful and he told me that the reason he did things for her after she finally got her ass out of his house, as he put it, it was because of the big favor she did for him. I understand that, am thankful that while he was at the skating rink, on a mission since Social Services only gave him two weeks to get someone in his house to help him with his 5 children. He worked 2 full time jobs and did other jobs to make money to take care of us so he had to get someone in the house to help but he was very particular. Th Gremlin fit the profile. He didn’t have any worries because he was strict and wanted a spotless home. No company other than his brother and sister, his nephew who was in his karate class, the Insurance man and the meter reader from BGE. In the beginning the Gremlin’s mom, who I love still today, her brothers, sisters, 2 nephews and niece would come over but no one was allowed to go anywhere in the house other than the living room but they got out of hand and he put a stop to them coming over all together. He just was not going to let anyone come in his home. His best friend who lived across the street was the person who had all of his secrets but he passed away about 5 years before my dad. I understand this little girl’s fears and I feel her pain. I never got over my pains and still today have suicidal ideations. C19 doesn’t help but I am all alone. There is no one to talk to so you know there is no one to help me. I hope this child doesn’t end up where I am. It’s draining but there is nothing a Social Worker can do for me. The best part of my day is night because I can go to sleep. I have to admit that I get pretty angry every morning just because I woke up and have to go through another day. Taking a bunch of medicine, or drinking antifreeze that some callous person just out of the blue won’t work because I will probably just get really sick. Can’t shoot myself in the head because I hate loud noises so my hand. Even putting my arms in buckets of ice to make me numb isn’t a guarantee so I guess when it’s my time that’s when I will go. I hope this young girl is surrounded by people who love and care about her enough to put their words into action. If someone tells me” I love you”, in the world I live in, I rather they say “I am going to take the trash out”. That’s my response whenever someone says that to me and I actually take the trash out! Please be careful it’s this little girl and mean what you say to her. Make sure it’s positive and you act on it. Words mean nothing. Action does!

That was a whole lotta questioning just to prove that a child did not clearly state something that she--fairly obviously--implied heavily. Yeesh. Having seen a fair amount of the rest of this trial, it seems that the defense's strategy was to focus more on disputing the charges of child endangerment and assault than the murder charges, so I'm guessing that's what she was trying to get at.

I feel so sorry for those two baby girls. Neither mom or grandma could get their shit together to be able to take care of them. The poor girls had to be bouncing around different homes living with strangers. I don’t care what anyone says, strangers are not gonna show the kids love and affection and the majority of the time they get mistreated. I don’t really trust the people who’s home the girls were staying at prior to the one where the baby was killed. Poor girls

The defense could have chosen a more capable attorney to do the cross on a crucial witness, but as I have stated before trial attorneys have to be able to stand up there and argue the facts of the case. The facts that this attorney has to stand up and argue for their clients are horrible. This is my opinion, I could be wrong.

If she was telling the truth back then she should be able to remember pretty much everything she WRITTEN DOWN AT THE TIME A 4 YEARS SPAN ISN'T THAT LONG AS LONG AS SHE WROTE THE TRUTH NOW IF IT WAS A LIE SHE GOING TO HAVE AN AWFUL TIME RECALLING WHAT SHE WROTE AND CLEARLY SHE READING HER WRITTEN STATEMENT TO ANSWER THESE QUESTION .. SO THESE 2 ARE IN DEEP SHIT NOW IF THIS IS EVEN ALLOWED.

I've followed this from the beginning and listened and heard all the testimony and witnesses. I've watched the defendants, especially MRS. JENNIFER. If I understand correctly, this was their first foster and were supposedly happy and excited about it. Not once is it explained or is there a reason of sorts given as to WHY she did this to that baby. She abused both of them but she killed just one. Usually there is just an explanation of sorts as to why this happened. Is the reason she was just a evil bitch and didn't care? Can that be the why? I honesty hope that's not why. It just can't be.

Shannon Warren Jennifer and the biological mother were in foster many years ago and it seems they had some beef because of a guy. Fast forward, she solicited to foster THESE particular two girls. I don’t believe she had the intention to kill her the night she did - however, she beat the girl severely enough to have killed her.

@@relaxandwaxdecatur3127 do you think there was some sick type of "getting even" that Jennifer had planned out in her mind when she sought out these 2 kids? Why these 2 and not someone else's kids? That just makes me wonder if she wanted the biological mother to suffer for the something that happened when they were in foster care together.

The Director stated in testimony that had her staff correctly ran the background check in Jennifer's maiden name her foster care file would have come up and her application would not have been approved. Sounded like something within that file would have kept her from being a foster parent.

All the Defense, is raising points that initiated the further investigation. Reasonable suspicion: a child is dead in JR care, while living child out of harms way feels confident she can speak the truth. Defense is useless and harmful person. Monsters attacked beat, torture and stomped. Lilla had a small lunch, or even a small breakfast according to autopsy. But no food found from any evening meal. Since contents were very digested and not in stomach but had passed pyloric in to intestinal tract. Anyone can determine how much Force was required to tear an organ ... by obtaining a piece of liver, from grocery store or butchers shop then attempt to tear, cut or crush without tools. Understanding these organs are within the trunk of body, inside or surrounded by other soft tissue organs. Millie mentions her sister sleeping long before the ambulance police and firefighters show up. During her testimony her abusers intimidated her, shaking her head at every mention of her behaviour or treatment of Millie and her late sister. The fractured leg, was another injury from being swung and hitting a hard surface, or hit with hard object. Similar injuries seen when child impacted by car/vehicle bumper at speed greater than 15-30mph... or at least 500lbs pressure or more to break a growing green bone in child. Her arm break a Defense Injury (nightstick Injury). I feel so much for this baby as a survivor of torn organs thru impact abuse.... the pain, convulsions are huge to a toddler or small child. Not understanding who the victim can trust. She suffered in silence poor baby. The choking cpr and first aid administration was wrong is BOLLOCKS.
