@alexandraschuster97003 жыл бұрын
@Connie Hughes obviously that wasn't the case to break the cycle. It is only a fact that abuse brings only abuse. I speak from experience I grew up in a violent environment which my mom was the torturer. I knew how she grew up but never thought about it. What's the relationship of domestic abuse that repeats over generations? You don't know what you dont know as a child. I never had kids because from experience being a child was a traumatic event for myself. However, in my mid 30s I was able to reach out for therapy because I carried a deep pain but I could not identify it where it came from. In that moment of clarity I fell out of love with my mother. Things that I never thought about came out. I had amnesia I didn't remember much of growing up. My brain was protecting me. I am happy I never had a child because I had nothing to teach, no solid foundation, I know I would had be loving but my reactions to situations were learnt behaviors by your parents. I had no self awarenes that everything we do has a back story. Now I am the mom of 3 dogs which I hate using dogs to introduce them when I speak of them. Because, they are someone, they are the most important priority. I treat them as I wanted to be treated as child. Selfless, unconditional love. We as humans do not know . Nor experience unconditional love, our parents loved us conditionally. If we did something wrong . They will show less love until u learn your lesson. We are complicated multadimensional beings. We all carry baggage that most soul pain comes from childhood. No matter how severe, or small is not less meaningless. And that's my 2 cents.

Oh, I bet you see a lot :( My Son was in PICU for a couple days from pneumonia and the little kids and babies I’ve seen alone cause their Parents can’t be there or just didn’t want to be there and the Nurses are busy was so sad. One little girl had to be about 2yrs old was in her little cage crib just crying and crying for Mommy and Mommy didn’t care. We didn’t see her once after that baby was admitted. Then one people that were in the room with us were drug addicts and were taking the baby’s Methadone and Ativan. The Nurse asked how she ran out and the Dad told her it wasn’t her business the baby was there for trouble breathing. It was so sad just hearing the baby cry and scream in pain until the Nurses gave her the medication. I couldn’t be a Nurse for Children. I’d be fired for telling Parents the truth about themselves. I’m obsessed with Ms M.E. Lora Darrisaw. Georgia is infinitely lucky to have her as she is so talented and her work in tons of cases I’ve watched is unmatched. She’s clear, precise, and vastly educated. During every trial I’ve seen (and I’ve seen tons) , she remains calm, composed, without bias, and she states the facts clearly and in a way that everyone can understand what she means. I admire her for so many reasons: not only for her ability to inform what the victim’s body is clearly telling us long after the victim’s soul has departed - But I am also proud that in a day and age where we have SO FAR to go concerning the rights of BIPOC - she holds an incredibly admirable position and has taken her education and her intelligence very seriously and come so far her whole life with it. I admire her so much. She’s my hero. ❤️ thank you from me, Dr. Lora Darrisaw - and from ALL the humans looking down on us whom you’ve helped advocate for and get the justice they deserve. Thank you, thank you, thank you; a million times, thank you. People can lie, but the body doesn’t - and you continue to help speak up for them when they cannot.

Actually that's not entirely true, as some job vacancies are only being offered to certain ethnic groups...basically if you're white don't bother applying...no matter how qualified for the post. So where's the inequality based on skin colour? There's a whole lot of anti white rhetoric atm...and they're the only group it's legal to discriminate against.

I would be devastated if i ever found out that my 2 or 4 year old grandchild was beaten by anyone. God forbid to death. At my age a life sentence would not stop me from finding and beating that person to death with my bare hands. This whole BS about we have to beat our children to keep them in line makes me sick. I have a 28 yr old son/25 yr old daughter that i raised by myself and never hit them once. They don't break the law don't do drugs and are productive members of society . It's just boils down to parenting your child. Make their business ur business until they are 18 years old. Unlike parents now a days when i had my children i was 28/31 yrs old and was prepared for parenting. This couple needs to be given life sentences.

The GBI Pathologist has been, in my opinion, the strongest witness that the state has offered. It's the first expert testimony that didn't raise reasonable doubt for me. The state made a poor decision to start the case with the uneducated coroner's testimony instead of hers. If the pathologist would have testified first, it would have made me view the case completely differently from the start.
@sineadcampbell51475 жыл бұрын
Maybe that's what they sought to do? Nobody wants to think that a person would, in essence, rescue a couple of helpless tiny kids and use them to take out their frustrations on. If they put her up 1st the impact of her testimony and reinforcement of the other witnesses would be lost to the jurors memories. And all the other witnesses that made you sway with reasonable doubt would most likely have had the same effect on the jury too. I may be completely wrong and talking out of my arse, but you never know. 🤔
@girlfromsouth2145 жыл бұрын
@@sineadcampbell5147 By first introducing people like the uneducated coroner and the lying, racist great grandmother who purposefully discussed the crime in front of Millie and definitely may have planted untrue memories in the child's memory, the state opened the door for tons of reasonable doubt. I don't think this was the best strategy. Before the GBI pathologist testified, if I sat on the jury, I'd have certainly given a verdict of not guilty. While some of the testimony was compelling, there was just too much reasonable doubt and not enough hard facts about incorrectly administering the Heimlich. Overall, I think the state did an very poor job of showing why incorrectly administering the heimlich maneuver couldn't cause Sweet Laila's injuries. I still think this could definitely definitely impact the jury.

@@SusanKay- No, they are not seeking death.
@sineadcampbell51475 жыл бұрын
@@girlfromsouth214 fair enough. Going on what you've said I definitely agree with you. I'll have to track down those testimonies as I've not had them in my notifications. If these witnesses are as bad as you suggest it makes me wonder why they thought they'd be any help? I am so over seeing the likes of the Casey Anthony's of this world literally getting away with murder because the defence is a couple steps ahead of the game. (Although the C.A one was lost primarily due to jury prejudgement and over exposure from the media). My heart really goes out to poor little Millie because not only did she live it, she will have to learn how to cope with survivors guilt unless she has an amazing support system around her. Child abusers need to be shot, along with the gutless bastards who turn a blind eye.
