The window thing reminds me of a 'reality tv show' called "The Colony" that was on The Discovery Channel, that was about trying to survive an apocalypse. They had the people scavenging for supplies at a nearby abandoned neighborhood, walking past house after house. These people need food, heat, fuel, etc and here they are, walking right past propane tanks, bbq's, people's houses, etc without stopping to actually grab any of the tons and tons of supplies literally right there in plain view. Like, first off, there's a literal propane tank RIGHT THERE! Grab it! Or you know, maybe go inside one of those homes and check for canned food and other supplies? But nope, can't make a 'reality tv show' actually even close to realistic.

@Ian Welchel Most (if not all) pumpers or fire engines have a booster tank on them, usually with about 300 to 1000 gallons of water. This allows the engine to begin flowing water immediately while someone else is connecting it to the hydrant and getting that water flowing into the engine. This allows for faster initial attacks, potentially saving more of the structure.

Also, while not impossible, its very unlikely that a car running over a hose like that would cause it to rupture and and even LESS that it would rupture to the point of not being able to stay charged. Work in a water department, not Fire, but used fire hoses when flushing hydrants, and they got run over all the damn time, never saw one pop. But like you said, even if it did completely fail like that, get another section, there are like 8 million hoses on a fire truck.
