In this video, I go over why hill sprints are a good form of sprint training, my general training setup that I am currently using, and why I think its important to avoid timing every single sprint you ever do.

Great content as always Cody cheers! Request for a video topic - I'm wondering how to maintain, or even improve sprint speed for aging athletes who are over 30 and even over 40. What are the best methods for not letting that top speed get lost as we all inevitably get older? Would love to hear your thoughts

What about incline walking... My son is 13 years old and he runs track... I wanted to take a little different approach getting him ready for the season... So we took the approach of long distance walking up a incline... The trail is 3miles up and down... We normally walk it 3 or 4 times ( 3 hour walk )... His legs have gotten stronger over the track season and has made a big difference... We do know in going forward, we will have to modify the workout to see better growth...

Good video! From experience, doing too much hills for extended period of time actually hindered my flat sprint technique. Ending the workout with few flat sprints helped me to balance it.

Thanks man. Yeah you certainly do not want to only do hills especially for a long period of time. Gotta have balance!

Hills are great early in the season now. Only one problem, it's 20 degrees here in Michigan and my hill is frozen. If a warmer day comes I may be able to get out there. So, I rely a lot on the gym . I can get two days of indoor sprinting at the near by college. Us cold weather guys are at a big disadvantage. Luv your content . Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Hi man! You are making me love sprinting and I want to start doing it as soon as I recover from a dislocated shoulder during a rugby game! Can you do also a full day of eating? Your body is shredded yet muscular and I would be so curious about a sprinter diet

Asafa Powell style hill work with your hip hand frequency....good job, you're going to be matching the elites soon, jacobs, Boling, tortu...7 -11 high knees to the 10metre 20mark! Wooooo, you're even similar to tyreek hill, his steep grass hill...he has

At a minimum.....I do hill sprints. No joke core workout on the verge of eating backwards sort of feeling. I often wonder how it plays into VO2 max. I like the 30 60 90 x 3 proposed here.

Got a question. Hypothetical speaking. In your training. Putting emphasis on acceleration top speed and speed insurance. Do they all add up into the bucket 🪣 or some of them would spill off the bucket to compensate to fill up the bucket..?

So year-round you should be in a state of sprint performance but shouldn't be sprinting 95%+ weekly? Im 3 months out from first track meet I should definitely be sprinting 100% right
