This is a pretty long video, but I explain what I will be doing with this build, I pass on some hints and tips for cockpit assembly, show you how to improve the fit and look of the nose gear bay, I show you how to anneal PE and how to fix it to the seat. Then I build the cockpit out of the box complete with paint and decal IP, then I show you the finished result and how to undo all the work covered in this video.

Excellent tip on annealing the photoetch parts, fully explains why i always have trouble bending the parts. 👍👍👍👍

I use the word "Greeblies" to describe small bits and pieces.

That lever, the "hand break," you mention is the hydraulic hand pump, if I see correctly on my small screen.

Very strong start to a kit of an interesting subject. Forgive me for not knowing, but at 1:15:30 you mention the solution you are using as hot, what exactly does than mean? Cheers 👍

Hot glue or paint means it attacks the plastic.

Hi Nigel, Could you cut the bottom of the instrument panel and bond it to the cross member that the control column attaches to ? Where do you angled side panels line up in your book ?

No, the angled section sits in front of the X-member.

Damn....if I'd built that cockpit like that, there's NO WAY I'd strip it like that!! 😂 Just goes to show that Nigel is really in a different class of model building; to have that confidence to improve upon it with aftermarket......PE on that small detail level, even at 1/32 scares me!! It'd be a mess of superglue with some 'bits' showing through in my hands!! 😂 😝 I can't wait to see the next episode Nigel...don't 'F' it up now and prove me wrong..!! 😑 I have faith in you!! 😀 Looking forward to it...👍

Would you use Mr Tool Cleaner for anything stubborn Nige, or is it too hot?

I use it on anything that it won’t damage.

What I can see from here the rudder pedals also look to far away from the seat. It seems the whole thing is your 6mm to far from seat. Is it an option to cut the bottom plate, shorten it by 6mm and glue it to seat part?

I thought the same, so i tried a 1/32 pilot figure from a Hasegawa Stuka and it fitted perfectly???
