If your ex is an avoidant person, you may have difficulty when the time comes to reconnect. They tend to be more stubborn, less able to admit their mistakes and more difficult to reach. But there are actually a few reasons that avoidant exes may be MORE likely to give you another shot if you’re able to break through these walls.
If you want your ex back... and they're an avoidant person... this is a must-watch!

Guys I'm telling you ive tried everything he said and follow the no contact for 30 days and it really works. I've got my ex back. Thank you souch for all the tips and guide. And during this 30 days of no contact even if you don't get your ex back you'll feel better alone and enjoy your own company which eventually makes you happy and independent. So it's a win win situation. You either get you ex back like I did or you enjoy being alone and find another soul mate. Please pin my comment. So that my brothers and sisters can see what you did for me❤❤❤❤❤

Hello Brad, looking back it makes so much sense. Your description fit her almost 100%. You said it's important to be a bit more upfront with avoidant types. Do you think it would be a terrible idea to very carefully mention attachement types after a few in person meetings? I know one shouldn't talk too much about this stuff when trying to get back together. I'd just like to nudge her in the right direction so maybe she can realize this about herself. Thank you for your videos!

How long have you known her and has she been diagnosed with it? If she hasn't, then I need you to tread carefully here because as I've said, there's a fine line between your ex avoiding you versus her actually have that disorder. There is a time to be upfront with these types, but generally not too early on. It's also possible that you can be too close to the situation to analyze stuff correctly. So since your situation may be unique, you'd benefit by working with me one-on-one so I get to learn more about the situation and therefore be more equipped to help you out, at www.breakupbrad.com/coaching

This is the video I was needing, I already knew your channel and I knew when I go through this sort of situation this is where to find answers. Brad, I'm confused, in my case, she's not my ex, she said she didn't love me anymore out of anger and wanted to breakup, but she agreed to let me fix things and make her fall in love again... so she's not my ex, or is she? She still wants to keep in contact all day, but will put up many walls, as if she wanted to talk to each other as just friends. She is cold on purpose and it's too obvious, it's like she wants to make things hard for me.
@BradBrowning
@BradBrowning 2 жыл бұрын
She is your ex, man. It's a confusing time for you both indeed so try to give space. You both have to process the breakup first and go through all that pain and slowly let go of the bad memories...It is a process, but this is what the "no contact" rule is for, to help both of you move forward from that pain. A reconciliation with an ex means there will be a new (thus the old relationship be considered as over) relationship between you two where the lessons of the past are taken into consideration in order to resolve it to create a better relationship in the future. Does that make sense? Give your ex time to let go of the bad memories, however, this won't happen overnight and for sure takes time, so don't rush. Follow the tips on my other vids, especially this one: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fLKVg5SWt6nPc58.html Good luck!

Thanks Brad for your video on an avoident ex which has really helped me understand how they can behave in a relationship. She has broken off or gone silent on me over the years on several occassions we have been together the reasons for which I had never understood till now. I carried out no contact and post that sent her a message along the lines you suggested. After one week she text me to say if I was around would I like to chat. I responded but did not reveal my emotions but instead kept the conversation light and humourous. She did however mention being friends again which I chose to ignore. She has been in contact a few times more on facetime I have maintained my approach but where should I go from here. Anyhow you have greatly helped in getting her back to the first stage of talking. Thank you

Really a unique video I've never heard of this avoidant thing before. I believe now my ex matches this description. During our relationship I've texted her first way more often then she did. Few days before she broke up with me I asked her what was happening because in my point of view not initiating contact was a sign of disinterest. I told her our relationship may not work in the long run. Well, no contact is over. We've been chatting for a few months and I think she still likes me. The same thing goes on, she rarely reaches me out. Based on this, is she really an avoidant person, Brad? Enjoyed your content.

It's gonna take more than that for your ex to qualify as having an avoidant attachment style, man. Consider signing up for my coaching program so you can discuss this in detail with me and I can help analyze what's truly going on between you two. Best of luck!

@BradBrowning
@BradBrowning 2 жыл бұрын
Don't be an extremist. :-) Don't support her because you're not her boyfriend anymore. Just act cordial with her to try to open the lines of communication. Once you've already completed the full 30-day "no contact" rule and assuming you did it correctly, then the texting tips here will be a good starter: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jtWegNd9q9WUYGQ.html but make sure you tick off the checklist here first: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eKeYgNWe3Jm3nac.html This means you take time focusing on the second phase and eventually the third phase when the time is right. This won’t happen overnight, of course, but it’s something you ought to continue to work on to the point where you’re gradually building attraction again. This is what my guide is for. Have you checked it out yet? It's too complicated to explain everything on here, but here's an overview of these phases and what to expect in each one: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l8t3gbNzydbSo30.html Good luck!

my ex had issues with two previous toxic relationships. Everything was great with her had an intense two months of pure happiness. at the end we had a small argument on something and probably ended in a misunderstanding on her part. she became instantly cold and distant even on our date the next day she was different. three days later she left with no explanations and had set up walls since the argument because of her past resurfacing. she decided, in my view, to run and avoid the problem. i've tried to reach out 4 days after she left to tell her i was open to meet and talk about what happened. she said we needed time and would reach out when ready (which could be never). it's been two weeks into NC and wondering if her attachment style will hever tell her she was wrong for not communicating. Hopefully her therapist will shine a light in her thoughts.

Just hungout with my ex and she mentioned she thought we jumped into our relationship too soon and we both got scared and fucked it up, she also mentioned she isn't ready for a relationship to which I told her I wasn't either but I still wanted to date her, and if we want this to work we have to let go of the past to move forward and I asked if she is OK with that and keeping it casual, and she agreed. Old me would want relationship or bust, but I realize now that is just the neediness and insecurities talking.

Right. Never let your insecurities show even though it's a daunting situation to be in indeed. If you indeed both moved too fast and you trust each other, there's nothing wrong with slowing down. Just pace yourself and if she's worth it, then be patient. Good luck!

Hi brad, thank you so much for this video. My girlfriend broke up with me last week and I’ve been gutted. We were going great for so long and I then went to Canada for the summer. We decided to call a break on things as it would be hard on her being at home for the summer and staying in contact would be difficult. So for 7 weeks we did no contact and when I returned I text her to say I’m back! But she then said she no longer wants a relationship. Yes we had our issues at times but her reasons for no longer wanting it are all problems that could be easily fixed with simple communication. The more that I analyze the relationship the more I get the impression that she is an avoidant. I don’t really know what to do or how to get her out of this negative way of thinking about our relationship. Because we were great together and I think she’s lost sight of that and focused on the negatives

In your case, well in general it's going to be tougher than usual with kid/s involved and/or usually other responsibilities still tied to your ex, but it's best you do limited contact or what I call the dynamic "no contact" rule. Brad you have exactly described my ex 💯💯💯! That’s how he broke up too. He really didn’t give me a solid reason other than that I’m a really good person and he should have let me off in 2017 already instead of dragging it until 2021. All he tells me is his family and friends don’t believe him when he tries to tell them that I’m a good person for him to be with. So now he texts me all of a sudden with “how are you **”(addressing me the way he use to address me when we were in a relationship) and telling me how a video he saw on KZfaq reminded him of me. As excited I am to read the text from him, I decided to follow you advice and not respond. After and hour he called me!! Again I was crying inside for not picking up his call… did I do the right thing?
@BradBrowning
@BradBrowning 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, don't respond other than a few exceptions (posted here on a vid as well, check that out) if you're still in the 30-day no contact period. As to your ex texting you, that's what I call the "check-in" text and your ex is somewhat expected to send one or more of these sooner or later and I've got just the vid for that. Discussed that in one of the vids, including how to handle that kind of message, here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jLNxe7l7m9rag4E.html

@@BradBrowning I did watch that video ‘later’ and am reading your reply just now which is also pretty late. I did not respond to his text right away. But since he can check up on me through my daughter I decided to respond because I didn’t want him to think I was being weird/suspicious all of a sudden ( past 7 months I have been very responsive and so has he and we have been in contact constantly through phone and texts) but I had watched your video where you said to appear happy and un emotional ( I have been very emotional and honest about my heart break with him so far. Yeah, I wish I had come across your channel earlier. I have been going about it the complete opposite from what you advice😓) so I replied that I was just chilling since I have my weekend off and asked him how his paper work was going ( he’s preparing them to go to india for his green card interview) and I hearted the comment he made about the video on KZfaq that reminded him of me. Hi Brad, I don't know if my ex is avoidant but I think so. He has picked up and left me a few times over the past year. He will live in his van or a tent but continue working. He has always come back after a few days or so. This time he's been gone a month. Do you think an avoidant can suddenly change his patterns? I'm hoping he does not come back because I am not strong enough to say no. He definitely has a pattern of leaving and coming back in his relationship with me and also his last long term relationship. Do you think he's changed and moved on?

Hey Brad, have noticed that you've been saying not to be friends with your Ex, but from the Ex Factor Guide it actually says that it's a good idea as women love having friends. Just wanted to know if your stance on this has changed? I was considering contacting my Ex after NC to get 'closure' on things that occurred in our relationship/breakup and go forward as friends to follow through with the rest of the guide.
@BradBrowning
@BradBrowning 2 жыл бұрын
I mentioned the importance of being social with other people but nothing about being friends with your ex as your main goal. Be in talking terms, yes, but never to being friends, perhaps you misunderstood? Do take time to read the book again from cover to cover. As to asking closure, I understand how you feel and it's gut wrenching when you're trying to ask your ex for a really good explanation, but resist that! If you ask me, really, closures are overrated. If your ex broke things off with you and acts like it, trust me, you'd really want to give each other space as soon as possible. However, these may help offer a different perspective on things, as to what really happened in your relationship: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qpx5i5ChutSrioU.html AND kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jLeaic91vN6uYqM.html

Some of my ex family had issue because I’m black and she’s Indian. Her mom was cool but everyone else that’s insignificant including friends and co workers influenced her. We talked she said we would work it out with her family but ended up engage with an Indian guy after meeting him for 3 weeks. The same guy she told me is her cousin. Even when we first broke up she said no man ever treated her like I did. She came back and instigated talking getting back together then she snap and say I need to fully detach myself from you. But I know she would be back. It’s not obsession it’s a feeling. A gut feeling due to us having the same dream at the same time when we were together and the details in that dream foreseen this

Having faith is good, just make sure you aren't blinded by your feelings. A healthy sense of optimism is needed indeed along with viewing the situation for what it is so as not to look at it with rose coloured glasses. This means you ought to have a balanced approach but cutting off contact will naturally help you with that, so try to stick to that rule for 30 days. If you've reached out to your ex only fairly recently, and assuming you've correctly employed the 30-day "no contact" rule, then that's a normal reaction from your ex. Here, watch this to help you understand things better: y2u.be/CP8FQlvDuVU But I would worry about what sort of messages have you been sending your ex? It's a different story if you've been trying for so long with all the right moves and still no progress. It just depends how this plays out really. Focus on the second and third phases instead. It helps to learn the basics here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l8t3gbNzydbSo30.html and/or better yet, read my guide to guide you every step of the way, at www.breakupbrad.com Good luck!

The exact same happen to me with my ex She ran away before we could even talk about the issue with our relationship (was bad communication which we both felt) But in her case, she’s also very persistent person who not so easily let down their opinion or admit their own mistake What can I do in case she’s still so convicted there is nothing to solve ? Should I act differently? PS. Great vid keep up the amazing content!

It is not always due to being an “avoidant”, some genuinely realize they deserve and need better and have moved on. Not all come back. If your ex has always calmly and consistently refusing to come back, they have moved on. Now it’s time for you to also move on.

@BradBrowning
@BradBrowning 2 жыл бұрын
Don't do that. Simply hide their feed or stay off social media for a while. Show your ex you're in control of your emotions instead of the other way around. A key component is to avoid small talk as much as possible, especially during the most critical stage: 30-day "no contact" rule because there's a huge chance your ex may be slowly easing herself away from you. If anything, your ex is suffering, too, even though it may not seem like it. Discussed that here: y2u.be/7KE6nb4-ndA The thing with exes, especially the one whose idea is to break the relationship, is they also struggle with the breakup and finding all means to cope...including talking to someone they're used to talking to, a.k.a you. What that leaves you, however, is unknowingly becoming their emotional sponge. So if you want this ex back, you ought to let her feel what it's like not to have you in her life first, so employ the 30-day "no contact" rule, okay? Here's how it can help you: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sN1gdsumvampnas.html An exception is if your ex is trying to contact you about something really important or is sincerely asking you to get back together. Understand that you risk too much by staying in touch and you best not respond unless it’s about something important. Watch this, too: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nbtygcdn1aqtfoE.html

My ex and I dated for 3.5 years and lived w each other for 2.5 years. She broke up with me and decided we needed separate living situations so we can both work on ourselves.. we shared a beloved pet and when she brought him over she said things like- I have anxiety about everything and is being hot and cold emotionally. We hugged for a while and when she left she told me she loved me so casually that it took me a second time to ask what? She repeated herself saying it again and left me super confused because it sounded like exactly the same way she would say that when we were together.. What do you think this means?? Thanks for your videos these are helping me get through all this

It means you guys need more time, especially your ex, because yes, a breakup tends to be confusing for both the dumper and dumpees alike. That kind of behaviour coming from your ex is somewhat expected after a fresh/recent breakup. That's why you ought to give it enough time where there's totally no contact between you and your ex for at least 30 days. A wide array of different emotions coming from an ex is somewhat expected when a breakup is still fresh and this includes the likelihood of your ex giving you mixed or weird signals. Watch this: y2u.be/siApAVtx8zE This is why I tell people to cut off contact for at least a month first and NOT deal with this ex. You both need to clear your minds first, all right? A breakup hurts both people in it regardless of who has done the breaking up. This is something I've discussed here, so watch it to learn a few tips to help you on how to go about it: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z9F6ZNyT2qyteHk.html

It's not a good time to talk about anything now that things are done. Make sure you go radio silence. If you get back into good graces, that's the time to talk things out, otherwise continue on your healing journey, okay?

Please help as I am a bit confused about this behaviour (are we still together or not)? Thank you very much!

He's probably re-evaluating your situation...which you should as well. A long distance relationship isn't the easiest to maintain, especially if you had a weak foundation. I suggest you give him space and allow him the time to miss you and reach out. If there's genuine interest there, he will come through. Otherwise you get your answer.

Hey Brad! The no contact rule is almost next to impossible for me with my (avoidant)ex because not only is there my daughter between us who he has raised since she was 3yrs old ( she’s 15 now) but also because he pays part of my bills and we have shared bank accounts, car, apartment etc.. also my family treats him like their own even though we were never engaged or married in our 11+yrs of relationship. My family has no idea about our break up and I’m afraid to tell them about it from the fear of them judging him while my ex is already in a bind with his family who have always created a lot of problems to keep us apart. @BradBrowning 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry, man, but chances are your girl has been at least emotionally cheating on you. Discussed that in depth here: y2u.be/7KE6nb4-ndA There's no easy way to say this but the answer is is to move on, especially if your ex doesn't seem to be regretting their actions and asking to get back together. Most of the time, a lot of people would move on, but a few would still fight for the relationship, so this all depends which side you're on and what your views are. But take into consideration about what I’ve mentioned here, too: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o5hnh6-W3rvRp5s.html There is no right or wrong answer here because it is your relationship and it's personal to you. Make sense? Anyway men and women cheat for different reasons, but if you think your ex is worth it and if there's been a genuine connection between you two before the cheating happened, then try to see the roles that you BOTH played that led to all this mess and see once and for all if it can be resolved or not, okay? Whatever the case, it's important you forgive yourself because no one's perfect, and forgive your ex too. Really take your time before deciding though and be sure not to make any hasty decisions from an emotional place but never force things with her if you can see she no longer wants to try. Take care!

It means your ex is keeping the lines of communications open for emergency. There's various ways to reach out to someone other than via phone, right? Right now just make sure you don't create unnecessary emergencies. A healthy sense of optimism is needed indeed along with viewing the situation for what it is so as not to look at it with rose coloured glasses. This means you ought to have a balanced approach but cutting off contact will naturally help you with that, so try to stick to that rule for 30 days. One way to go about this is to not get too caught up with getting your ex back so you will allow for stuff to play naturally while playing your cards right , which is what my videos and/or my Ex Factor Guide is for. Brad! My ex and I have been together for about 5 months. It was quite a short time, but our relationship was very intense, we met almost daily and did fun things many times. I would like to get her back, because there are feelings for her that I have felt for a very long time. She broke up with me a week ago and I haven’t spoken a word to her since. The reason was that she no longer felt for me like he did in the beginning. What would you advise me, Brad? Continue with the no contact rule in the same way or do you have any other suggestions?
@BradBrowning
@BradBrowning 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that. Although you obviously felt strong feelings for her, it doesn't seem to be truly mutual. Depending on what really cut the relationship short, it may be time to consider moving on from this. But don't rush. Always take the time to give each other space first, all right? Do a minimum of 3 weeks of "no contact" and see if you still want your ex and if your ex is receptive to contact AFTER that period. Watch this: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sN1gdsumvampnas.html

Try to stay calm and give it time. You're basically starting from scratch with hopefully the two of you being the better version of yourselves, so don't expect for things to get back to normal right away. Please help me out! My avoidant ex broke up last October and been on and off NC since then. A few weeks a go we finally started talking and things were improving little by little. She came to drop something by last week and ended up staying 3 hours where we had a really great time. Then 2 days later, I just casually ask her out on a date putting no pressure and she just randomly blocked me without warning. What the hell does this mean?

Friends or more appropriately, talking terms for now (if your ex isn't already in another relationship), but don't let that derail you, assuming you've done the first phase (30-day "no contact" rule) correctly and basically had set the stage for this second part. Since you've only recently reconnected, then don't expect your ex to warm up easily. Getting an ex back is a process. Whatever you do, make sure you don’t resort to doing the things here: y2u.be/jikW4YYC9yo Are you sure you're not trying to rush it? Setting a deadline is a good way to fail when it comes to exes, so I highly discourage it but also try to see you aren't just being strung along. What steps have you taken to get your ex back? Apply the tips here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/areVYJdykqnUho0.html It's time to re-assess those and see what's working versus what's not working. Sometimes, getting an ex back is like trying to fit a square into a circle, but oftentimes, chances are you're letting emotion dictate you and therefore end up making the wrong choices. Have you checked out my guide yet? It’s ultimately up to you to act (or not act, depending on which phase you’re in) on getting your ex back, but it helps if you read it to ensure that you’re on the right track. I really hate to burst your bubble here but let him finish whatever unfinished business he has with this ex. We had a 3 year long relationship and its been 4 months now of the breakup now. I begged/tried keeping in touch atleast once or twice every month did 30 day nc twice and broke it myself. He never reached out but almost always replied, until recently. I messaged him a check in text after 30 day nc and he didn’t respond, sent another check in text in a day’s gap and still no response. I returned all his stuff last month as i was hurt that he didn’t check on my father’s surgery and wanted to let go. May be i triggered his avoidant side by sending back his gifts and his things. It’s his birthday in 7 days, do you suggest wishing him? I have almost lost all the hope. (He seems to be travelling, partying and act’s unaffected) please advise 🙏🏻
@BradBrowning
@BradBrowning 4 ай бұрын
For some, sending back gifts if your ex didn't ask for them back is a tad insulting. But with begging involved, that could've annoyed him further to a point where you may have to consider moving on from this because the odds are against you by the way he's behaving at the moment. but at least you tried? Oftentimes I find with my clients, the mistake is they appear way too eager with their exes when it comes to reconnecting and end up shooting themselves in the foot because that kind of eagerness actually pushes an ex away. Without fully knowing anything about your situation I obviously can't tell but if you're convinced you've done everything right though and still got no results, then it may be best to move on from this, man. You can also get my latest e-book Beat the Breakup at www.beatmybreakup.com to help guide you on what more to do during this grieving process. Take care!

Take the free quiz to find out at www.breakupbrad.com/quiz To add, by begging, it shows how you're not respecting your ex's need for space and time at the moment. Can't you see? In other words, you're making it hard for your ex to be attracted to you again. Your best bet is still to cut off contact completely for around a month or even more in order to clear your heads. You'd increase your chances of getting your ex back if you've got your sh*t together than if you were doing the opposite of the no contact rule which is begging/pleading or negotiating/trying to woo your ex again. Well, there are a few rare who take their exes back if you beg/plead but it hardly ever lasts since these people are taking their exes back out of pity. So my point is, don't let your ex take you back out of pity, all right? Here are 5 keys you need to remember when it comes to this: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m8Bmocx0sbu5Znk.html The best way to avoid that is to work on yourself and get your life together by having fun, hobbies, etc. and to stop chasing your ex. I've made numerous videos about the "no contact" rule and why it's important. Check those out. Also watch the stories here and try not to be a statistic: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z7uPfLKendXKdqM.html

Unless she's asking to get back together, it may not be a good idea to hang out with her, as it might put you in a position to be strung along while she scopes out other options, because hey, you're both single, right? Here's this to consider: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rsh0g9RjmL_Ffnk.html so take the free quiz if you wanna know what your chances are, at www.breakupbrad.com/quiz However, that kind of behaviour coming from your ex is somewhat expected after a breakup. But I enrolled in classes he’s taking and did sports he was doing. Even though he’s def not 100%of the reason why I did things. I happened to see him almost everyday in school. At first, I was trying to talk to him and was desperate. Toward the end of the quarter, I intentionally did not look at him at all. We act just like strangers. And he is avoiding as much as he can. He’s very avoidant even in the relationship. School is over in two weeks, meaning I will not see him for the entire summer(maybe not even next fall). Do I still have chance to get him back given that I didn’t and couldn’t now give him space at all?

How many days should I be in no contact with an ex in a long distance relationship? Need help she is texting me every day, Thank u
@BradBrowning
@BradBrowning 2 жыл бұрын
Give it 30 days minimum. Also not to state the obvious, but the distance is often the main culprit. Watch/review and apply the pointers here first: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fbeJZ7FhmdvapHU.html and/or kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a9SWirV7t9jScac.html However, if you believe your situation is unique and there may still be a chance between you two, then let's take a look at your situation in-depth via my one-on-one coaching session at www.breakupbrad.com/coaching

Pushing it how? Did you always try to talk about getting back together cause that would be a huge mistake. Since your situation may be unique, you'd benefit by working with me one-on-one so I get to learn more about the situation and therefore be more equipped to help you out, at www.breakupbrad.com/coaching

Hi brad, do you think I (disorganised attachment) will still have chance to get back with my ex (avoidant personality) whom was with me for 4 years and then suddenly broke things off with me just a week ago? 😢 He told me he was unhappy with my during the relationship, due to our frequent fights which arose from me always getting angry at his tone used at me. He said I was not of a marriage material and he does not see a future with me as he believes personality can’t be be changed, and we will likely continue to argue throughout the marriage. He always get annoyed at my antisocial behaviour towards strangers too. I told him I’m willing to put in effort to improve my personality for the better but he doesn’t want to try with me anymore 😭 he returned me all my belongings on the day he told me he wanted to break things off, and had been thinking of breaking up since the start of the year, without even giving me a hint of what he was thinking throughout the year. I miss him so badly… I wasn’t even given a chance for this relationship.

If you're asking about your chances, I really wish I could give you a direct yes or no. However, as it is, each situation is unique, so I suggest you take the free quiz as it hits on the critical elements that will determine your chances depending on your answers. In other words, my quiz can give you a more accurate answer than I can since as you may have noticed, there are various factors at play here which needs to be looked at as well as your own actions after the breakup. Here's the link: www.breakupbrad.com/quiz or sign up for my coaching program so I could take a closer look at what your situation and guide you accordingly at www.breakupbrad.com/coaching Best of luck!

it’s been over a month, no contact isn’t working (we do go to school together so i still see him daily, but he barely looks at me, let alone talks to me) my ex hasn’t contacted me and i don’t believe he has much desire to talk. it didn’t end on bad terms, and i haven’t changed, so why is he acting like this? i really wanna reconnect with him, even just as friends, but he acts as tho i don’t exist :( what do i do?

He may need more time to heal. Don't force it. Being friends isn't exactly a good idea this early on. This is something I talked about here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ptyPls2rzbyvcY0.html

@BradBrowning
@BradBrowning 2 жыл бұрын
Saying sorry, especially if you have nothing to be sorry about or your situation doesn't warrant an apology is only going to push your ex further away. Never make that mistake again, yeah? Take note of the mistake most people make here so you won't be making them: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z8lyo7Gjqaqsnqs.html Don’t wait for this person to have an epiphany. If you want your ex back, then keep track of what you've been doing to see if it's productive or not. Here's a quick overview of what needs to happen: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rs2CY5aDyLucnas.html and it's best to go by the golden rules here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z9F6ZNyT2qyteHk.html Have you checked out my guide yet? It may be time to revamp your techniques. Before anything else though, take the free quiz on my website to gauge your chances of getting your ex back.

Its been 4months we broke up. We still talk at times. And i can clearly see him being ignorant. I feel miserable. One side of me knows he wont come back, and the other side still has that expectation that he might. It is becoming very difficult for me to hold up to myself. I feel so broken. What should i do?
@BradBrowning
@BradBrowning 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that. I suggest you try to heal first and get to a point of clarity. As mentioned in this vid, if he has the avoidant attachment style, ask yourself this hard question: is this something you want to put up with for the rest of your life, if you do get back together? If you're still not sure about what you're doing and need my help, then I suggest you sign up for my coaching program so I can assess your situation properly and guide you accordingly at www.breakupbrad.com/coaching

Hi Brad, I recently went through my break up with my girlfriend just over 2 months ago (she broke up with me). She exhibits much of these traits. I didn't speak with her for a week and ran into at my gym I work and we talked a week after the break. I went over to her house to drop somethings off and some gifts she gave me. During that time she was acting vulnerable but still felt she made the right decision in breaking the relationship. However because of the mixed signals she was giving me including hugging me for a long while. The next day I bought her a single flower and dropped it off at her house. The Day after she texted me asking me if dropped a flower off, I said yes, then she angrily texted me that she was in a vulnerable state, that she's shouldn't of let me in or hugged me and she was serious about the break up. She told me to respect her space. So after that I sent a message back saying I would respect her space. Then I preceded to unfriend her from Facebook and instagram and followed the no contact from there. 20ish days after she quit going to the gym I work at and after 60ish days of no contact or interaction I ran into her at a grocery store. From there I went up and said hi and she was kinda cold and awkward and seem a little caught off guard. I haven't spoken or sent her any messages since. Is this situation done?

Hi Brad , We broke up a week ago , just 4 days after our break up he calls me and invites me to cut his birthday cake with him , stating that "he still loves me , but is still unsure if he wants to be together". I refused to go because i didn't want the uncertainty. We broke up because he thought I was needy & didn't give him his personal space , at the same time - he never communicated the above to me - until he couldn't keep it in his head. I am currently following the no contact , what are your thoughts about this?
@BradBrowning
@BradBrowning 2 жыл бұрын
He is indeed confused and needs space. I wouldn't be too quick to say he has an avoidant attachment style though, especially if it's just based off on that single incident, but you did the right thing by giving him space.

What about fearful/anxious avoidants? My ex gf most likely has that attachment style. She always emphasized how important freedom is to her, she hurt me in the past out of fear that I would hurt her, but she was also very affectionate and constantly showered me with love during the period when we had the most intense relationship and achieved incredible closeness.

Most people give it their best shot when in a committed relationship... which is why relationships can be so addictive. Hi there! How long were you two actually committed to each other with this avoidant ex? Sorry, although I'd like to offer a tip or two, there's simply too many elements to your situation that makes this too complex for me to properly respond here… please consider signing up for coaching if you want to talk at length about your situation: www.breakupbrad.com/coaching
