So good! Did your moms version have coconut too? Or just some sugar to make it sweet? We still need to make a sweet version for the channel sometime, so if you have a good recipe we'd love to know about it :)

We had these at a local Puerto Rican restaurant, and loved them, so I wanted to try to replicate them at home. I am completely new to Puerto Rican recipes, but yours made this quite easy to make, and they came out great. I used mozzarella and brie. My Puerto Rican husband approved! Thanks for making this video and sharing this recipe!

OMG yes, abuelas always have the best recipes but somehow they never get written down! We had the same problem with Yomarie's grandmother's bistec recipe. Literally the WHOLE family raves about it, but no one knows how she did it. Now every time we make bistec, someone's like "well, its not as good as what I remember."

Hola! I love, love garlic! Food could NEVER have too much garlic for me! I'm Mexican, but I love Puerto Rican food & your channel helps me tremendously when it comes to making Puerto Rican food, although my my mom & I enjoy it VERY MUCH & VERY OFTEN, my poor dad can't stand garlic so he has to eat something else for a couple of days because I usually make enough to feed an army! 😉

As a child (1960’s) my Mom would make these all the time and they were sweet and crispy. Her grandmother showed her how to make them and they never had cheese. When did they start adding cheese?
@JeffandJosPuertoRicanKitchen
@JeffandJosPuertoRicanKitchen 3 жыл бұрын
I don’t think most people add cheese inside so it’s not super common but it is really delicious and addictive. We don’t make them that often at home because we have no self control and eat them all 😝

I love these, I make them once a month Saturday’s are the only day that we eat fried foods in my house. Each Saturday we pick what we are going to eat that day wether is pastelillos de queso, carne, jamón c/queso o queso y guayaba, the following weekend bacalaitos, and the next weekend the sorullitos which are my favorite and are so good with cheese inside and guayaba sauce on the side. The other weekend we do Central America fritters arepas, empanadas, etc. Thank you for sharing the recipe 🙏🏽

@JeffandJosPuertoRicanKitchen
@JeffandJosPuertoRicanKitchen 4 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry to hear that. The dough is actually cooked when you put it in the stovetop so although the dough may feel chewy in the middle, it’s cooked so no concern. Now, if you want it to be crispy all over, try very thin cylinders. Let me know your thoughts and feel free to send pics.

Ayyydiomio Jeff & Joe Please forgive the nuisance that I am😔but it's so much easier to hear measurements while a video is going on. Maybe its cuz I'm dumb but I went to your blog and everything is in writing and I am not a good reader😭 I know that there must be a strategy why you don't give exact measurements on your videos so that people will go to your blog but you don't know how much easier you would make it on people if you just gave the measurements while you're making a video layman's terms and stead of making a person go all the way to your blog and search for the video and have to read out the whole description... I'm sorry😭 So much easier to just get it from the video, it's like a one stop🛑 You guys are awesome tho🙏
@JeffandJosPuertoRicanKitchen

Hi Diana, thanks again for the feedback. We definitely don't have a strategy of pushing people to our blog--all the measurements are included in the KZfaq video description, which is immediately accessible when you are watching the video. I hear you that it would be easier for you if we stated the specific measurements in the videos and will take that into consideration going forward. Obviously we can't do that with the old videos, as they have already been finalized, but we will talk it out and get some input from others to see how best to proceed. Thanks so much for your feedback!
