"How to Make Tikka Boti at Home | Easy BBQ Recipe" by Cookcraft Delight
Ingredients:
- 500g boneless chicken (cut into cubes)
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Wooden skewers (pre-soaked in water for 30 minutes)
For Garnish:
- Fresh coriander leaves (chopped)
- Lemon wedges
- Onion rings
Instructions:
1. *Marinate the Chicken:*
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, lemon juice, red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, black pepper powder, salt, and vegetable oil.
- Add the chicken pieces to this marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight, to let the flavors meld.
2. *Prepare the Skewers:*
- Preheat your grill or barbecue to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the soaked wooden skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
3. *Grill the Tikka:*
- Brush the grill grates lightly with oil to prevent sticking.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is fully cooked and has nice grill marks. Baste with any remaining marinade while cooking for extra flavor.
4. *Serve:*
- Once cooked through, remove the skewers from the grill.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with lemon wedges and onion rings on the side.
Tips:
- You can use metal skewers instead of wooden ones if you prefer.
- Adjust the spice levels according to your preference. You can increase or decrease the amount of red chili powder and black pepper powder to suit your taste.
- Serve Tikka Boti with naan bread or rice and a mint yogurt sauce (raita) for a complete meal.
