You and I are going to drink a lot of coffee together. Like, borderline dangerous amounts of coffee.
So, first things first. Pour yourself a mug and I’ll introduce myself real quick.
My name’s Jordan - but everyone calls me “J” - and I’m a 27th degree black belt in chugging coffee.
I’m also strength & nutrition coach, I hold several powerlifting world records, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have my writing featured in a variety of outlets like CNN, the Huffington Post, and Schwarzenegger.com.
But listen.
This channel isn’t for fame, publicity, cash, props, fist bumps, likes, pings, pows or whatever else there is.
It’s a place where you and I can chat.
I’ll never sugar coat, lie, or beat around the bush. I’ll tell you everything exactly as I see it. Some stuff you might like. Others you might not.
And that’s totally cool.
Either way, my goal here is to create a discussion. A place where you and I can get together, exchange ideas, and motivate each other to be better every day.
Like I said, we’re gonna drink a lot of coffee together - borderline dangerous amounts - but I’m excited. Because there aren’t too many online communities in which the sole purpose is to inspire and motivate one another.
And that’s exactly what you and I are going to do here.
To your success,
-J

This goes to show how hard models work! I appreciate your comments and breakdown of the movements/order they were shown. I agree with another viewer who said it would be interesting to see you chat with her trainer to see why he plans the routine the way he does. Thank you for sharing!

Love your comments on the complicated exercises. It was interesting to hear why you thought they were overrated and there are simpler more effective approaches.

It was so great to listen to you talk through each exercise. I figured there was a method regarding exercise volume & the type of each exercise (strength vs conditioning) and the order they should be in. Thank you for explaining!

I didn't watch the original video but I wonder if the editors of that video mixed up the order and made it look all random? Maybe the trainer had it in a different order and we are just seeing clips all over the place?

I actually think both the original video and your analysis should start with, who is the client and what are the training goals. How can we decide if the training is conducive to her goals if we haven't stated what those goals are? With the level of intensity and quality she is giving her training, I'm sure that a properly structured strength program would have seen her get more muscle development, even at caloric maintenance, and that is clearly not the look that is expected in her work. So I would think she needs general muscle stamina to meet the physical demands of her job, and training for health and longevity, without an emphasis on any progressive overload.
@ate4869
@ate4869 2 ай бұрын
It's also worth pointing out, this workout is for *maintenance* of her current physique. Nothing is stated about wanting to actually change any aspect of her physique, which is very different from most training programs which have a specific goal of building muscle or leaning out.

Yes! Absolutely. I've always trained like a body builder (parents were bodybuilders and taught me their way) to then going into high intensity/ crossfit workouts, to strong man/ really heavy lifting, to now just a wellness variety. I can confirm this is very high intensity/ crossfit.

This dude just have quite literally shuffled a deck of cards with exercises on them, then drawn a bunch in a row, then added some gobbledygook about why they're awesome. This is trash from a training perspective. Absolute nonsense. Cardio and strength don't mix.
