I have a vid up of myself doing 615 at 174 lbs from seven years ago. No head phones in. No belt. No straps. No one else in the gym. And...no one cares. I'll never do that again, either, as since then I've blown out my back and lats. Proud of the lift and glad I have it recorded though.
@charliemartin21577 ай бұрын
I was gonna say, unless you're just a huge person, getting to this level of strength and up can't be too healthy for your body long term for most people.
@Bluequiet7 ай бұрын
@@charliemartin2157 it wasn't really that bad for me, but I was doing a few things wrong. Especially when I hurt my back, it wasn't even my sole goal to deadlift big. So I wasn't heavily catering to the movement, exactly. But at the time, I figured getting a PR was an added benefit to my goals (sprinting). Turns out, that was idiotic, at least from an intentional one rep maxing out perspective. If my goal had been to only be dead lifting for competition, I might have been able to mitigate the injury/injuries I got because my training plan would have been more well suited to the task, specifically. The 615 I DID do hurt a little bit for a few days, but mostly it seemed fine and I actually was probably capable of 635ish a few months later until I hurt a lat or something. After THAT I successfully got 580s and 590s without problems a few times before I think I herniated a disc trying to pursue a new PR. Keep in mind, I'd wager that ALL sports activities that go seriously into pushing the limits (so basically all pro sports, etc.) are pretty much unhealthy. Relatively speaking.
