I like that you're to the point and edited any bs. Plus your filler sayings are gold 😂. Keep it up. I heard a whistle and sprayed carb cleaner. Thanks to you I don't have to search the intake for the leak as I couldn't see it.

Thanks Clay for posting this video, it help me confirm my problem, I did a smoke test and it was coming out from behind the intake and I was told there wasn't a hose connection back there but you can see the hose going back there, I have an 07 cherokee with the 4.7, I wish you would have did a video on the replacement, I can't find any vids on that, but at least with your video I kinda know the location of it and I have a curved set of spark plug boot pliers so I will give that a try. having big hands isn't always a good thing lol.

I will do a Video on that later but if you look Engine removal videos you will also see that information on removing the intake fairly cut and dry unless it has the hoop over the top of it that can be a problem….. because then you need to remove the two motor mounts to be able to drop it down far enough to get the intake out.

@@sharpcarco I was hoping to be able to replace that elbow without having to remove the intake, I'm pretty sure the elbow is the only leak, and I appreciate the fast reply, have a great day.

How about any leaks coming possible to see smoke test leaking from the side of the throttle body where the cables are located for the throttle actuation of the flap blade ? I got my evap leak detector hooked up and it seems like a leak coming right at the spring coil for the throttle shaft

Hey clay! Got a 02 dakota 4.7 running like shit! Tried the intake gaskets but didnt think of looking at this hose! I keep throwing multiple coil codes. Would this hose cause these issues?

Just did my head gaskets, timing, etc on my 05 grand cherokee 4.7. I can hear the engine sucking air from the same area. Sprayed starter fluid back there and the rpm's did change so the elbow is the first thing im going to check. Just for informational purposes, what were the rpm's at with the broken elbow if you remember? Mine are sitting at a steady 1200. Should be around 6-700 at idle. It starts perfect, high idles to 1100 like usual, drops a little like it's going to go to the 700 range, then creeps up to 1200 and sits there as you hear the sucking air. This is probably my issue too, you think?
@sharpcarco

Definitely your issue. It won’t break properly with a vacuum leak

No, I don’t but try a spark plug boot. I’m pretty sure it’s about the same. I think that’s what I ended up doing. I don’t remember long time ago.

@@sharpcarco the manifold looks exactly like yours in the video just does not have the rubber elbow. got the Jeep last week and I am busy connecting everything back together. when I block the opening the engine dies. So I am assuming it needs to be connected to something but i can not find any information or name for this elbow.
@sharpcarco
@sharpcarco 3 жыл бұрын
It’s probably one of the hoses that go to the back sides of the cylinder heads. Each cylinder head has a small tube sticking off the back of it and they are usually vacuum hoses so that’s the best guess I can give you
