Our red roasting peppers (called Aj Varski) are ready to be picked from our garden and turned into something wonderful. Sarah teaches how to make roasted red peppers that can be preserved in the refrigerator for 3 months or in the freezer for a year.

***** About Living Traditions Homestead *****
Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.
We put out 3 new videos every week! Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we transition from city dwellers to full time homesteaders!

Our family lives in Jersey and last time we were there, we got a fresh sald that was out of this world. Instead of tomatoes, it had a lot of sweet red pepper strips. Fresh mozzarella cheese slices, and 3 or 4 fresh grilled eggplant slices also. It had Romaine and iceberg lettuce chopped in it. Forgot the dressing, but hubby and I shared it. ❤ It was so delicious. Next trip over, we will get another salad. Scale of 1-10, it was 10+

I know one thing it is 5:30 a.m. here, and now I'm starving. I use roasted red peppers in scrambled eggs, frittatas, on tacos, and really anyting Italian. I bet that olive oil would be very good in spaghetti sauce or any marinade. I just love the kitchen ideas you give us, I have been cooking since I was 12 years old. You made me cry happy tears with this video. My Sicilian grandmother (Nana) used to do this all the time. She would heat the garlic into the oil. She did a combination of hot banana peppers with her red peppers. She always had a jar on the Kitchen table with fresh loaves of homemade Italian bread. We would visit and make pepper sandwiches with either anti pasta or salad or gardune patties. They were burdock, egg, & Parmesan cheese fried patties. The oil was made into a vinegarette with homemade wine vinegar.

Hello, hello and waving madly!! God Bless you and your family first most and always!! I rarely, if ever comment. But since you asked for ideas I thought I would share with you my family's favorite way of using red peppers, along w/ the numerous ways you mentioned! 🤗 On Bruschetta - such an delicious humble dinner... good bread, toasted just nicely in the oven and then topped with the delicious red peppers, let's not forget the fresh or dried herbs? They make the world go around - now let's top with a good shaving of cheese, or not... Served with a simple baked chicken or meatballs? Best dinner ever for family, friends and guests!!
