Mindful Walking Exercise - Hello everyone, in this week's video, I share about mindful walking or mindful walking meditation as taught by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. Mindful walking is another very common form of meditation which helps us to come back to the present moment with our steps. I often use it when I go from places to places and it helps me enjoy my surroundings and anchor myself in the present moment. I hope you will enjoy this video and give this practice a try!

Hi Olivier, I just stumbled upon your video today, and I've been binge watching them haha! Thank you for creating the channel to share your knowledge, I'm very new to the concept of meditation, I haven't started incorporating meditation in my part, I'm currently just reading books and watching videos to better understand the theoretical part of it, learn how to do it then my next step will be to make it part of my life, I'm a fan of Thich Nhat Hanh as well, his teaching and voice is very magnetic, I started liking him before I knew he was an iconic figure in this field, anyways, just want to say thank you and let you know that you're helping people like me every day!

I love your videos so much! I've been having a hard time concentrating during meditations and some days I haven't sat down at all, but i've been walking my dog more often and everyday, and now i'm thinking that maybe it was my own mind trying to make me go out and move. In any case, your videos have helped me a lot and for that, thank u! please never stop doing these 🌾 much love all the way from Chile

Thanks so much for your kind comment Paula! I too have a dog and talking walks with her has really helped me a lot to get out and enjoy being outdoor. I think I will make a video about when we have difficulties concentrating. It seems like it’s be useful. In the meantime I am preparing 3 videos on mindfulness that I hope you’ll enjoy! Hello Olivier, thank you, this video was very helpful because i also started mindful walking as well before some days and its another good way to clear your mind :) Would you recommend to focus on the own breath while walking meditation or do you mainly let these sentences like: „I arrived, I am home“ wander through your mind?

Hello Bennet, thank you for your comment! I'd say, focus mainly on your breath to bring your mind home to your body. Once you have found a rythm between your steps and your breaths, (meaning for example that you take x steps on your inbreath and y steps on your outbreath) you can if you want to, let go of your focus on your breath and bring your attention to the sole of your feet. The poem is there to remind you what this practice is about but it's not mandatory at all. When I practice, I focus on my breathing at first, then on my steps and then then recite the poem a few times. Hope this helps, let me know!
