My Life Improved After Cheating Ex Left, Hers Not So Much... Surviving Infidelity..

My story actually goes back a few years but the current situation with the pandemic has sort of brought it back to life in a way. I turned 39 last December, my gf birthday is one week before mine and my daughter’s falls in between so we tend to have a birthday week celebration. We had been together for nearly seven years at the time, married for almost five. I thought we were very happy. The speed with which everything changed shocked me.
All of this started back when I was 32 and my daughter was 4. My ex wife was 31. My ex wife joined a new gym because of a promotion they were having. It was a very expensive high end place. It was after that when the trouble started. The details of the cheating aren’t that interested so I’m not going to spend much time describing it. For about six months my ex wife became distant, picking fights a lot, going out on ‘girls nights’, etc.
Story 1:
My life improved after cheating wife left
Story 2:
PI cought my wife cheating the past four days!
Story 3:
2 years post affair, affair partner is now a part of my kids’ life and it’s hell. Anyone out there who’s learned to cope and live a free life?
Story 4:
My mom confided in me about her affair when I was 11 years old.

There is another story similar to this one that the wife started a affair with a rich guy. The wife wanted nothing from the marriage just a divorce so she could marry her rich lover. One week after the divorce was final she married her rich lover. On their honeymoon they had a tragic car accident and her husband was killed. They was married for 2 days when the accident happened. She got nothing from her late husband's estate. She went to her ex-husband and asked him to rewrite the divorce agreement so she would have something to live on. The ex-husband refused. If I remember the story correctly she is a cashier somewhere and is trying to survive on a cashiers paycheck when one month earlier she was living in a baby mansion with a rich man. Not all, cheating wife meet rich man stories have happy endings.

@@mr.valentine5072 If you've been cheated on, and you have children involved, if you're first instinct is to whine and believe that you're justified in putting yourself and your own emotions before the well being of your children, you're honestly worst than the cheater and I pray you don't have kids. Trust and believe, I don't condone cheating of any kind and I'd rather castrate myself with a rusty butter knife than to ever cheat on someone who loves me, regardless of the state of our relationship. Having that said, anyone who is willing to cheat on their spouse who loves and respects them, showing no concern for the state of their relationship or the well-being of their children, putting their own short-lived, emotional highs over all else, are already lost. But if you, as someone who was cheated on with a family, being *Self-Aware* attempts to justify being selfish because your ex-partner was also selfish, you're worse by default because you're fully aware of what you're doing is wrong and playing the "Well they did it first so why can't I?" nonsense doesn't fly with me. If your morals are so easily faulted because someone you loved betrayed them, then you had no morals to begin with in the first place.

That isn't unique to Southeast Asia, there was a guy I used to work with who had a mail order bride from Russia. Within a year of them getting married her parents, sister, aunt and cousin were living with him, only him and the cousin worked, but the cousin could apparently burn through his monthly pay cheque in 3 days so he was permanently broke so the guy was supporting 5 adults on a security guard salary. To the first story: I'm from Thailand, so hearing the man is having a good time with a Thai woman lifts up my heart so much. Anyway, as some comments down here show skepticism towards the woman since you know where she's from, I would say, you aren't wrong. The woman seems to be well-taught of caretaking. She would do well not only as a wife, but also as a daughter to her family in her home country. Majority of us are taught to look after our parents, if not physically then maybe by material supports such as money. Please, don't judge this tradition. I only wish the guy to try to understand her situation and they talk well about the money before they decide to move to Thailand. Beware of her relatives wanting the money, too. I would say, staying in your country not moving to Thailand might be a better choice, but there are many outcomes in reality of Thai women married to foreign guys, so it's really up to the couple. Above all of these, wish them a happy time together.

Better man. I’d say he healed himself from an emotionally traumatized situation and focused on himself and his daughters wellbeing. It’s already prove the ex believed the other man was better, for a while until March of 2020. I’d say the ex gets a eerily silence. She doesn’t deserve anything for what she did, especially a tiny violin.

That "ex" only gets nails on a chalkboard at best. All she saw were the big dollars sticking with the "apparent millionaire" AP and dove straight into that, completely forgetting that her ex-husband was already on his way to becoming a millionaire himself, and found out the hard way that apparently richer doesn't mean consistently and long-lastingly richer (the AP had debts, her ex-husband didn't it seems).

@@j_the_don5160 women have literally nothing to gain in a divorce. the only time they get any benefit is when the marriage was very bad for her. and what she does gain is something that allows her to do the basics to survive and stand on a equal platform as her ex husband. the most common complaint with divorce is " women gets majority of custody". that sentence is true however the common belief is that the courts favour women over men. that simply isn't true. the reason why women get majority of custody is because courts immediately assume her as the parental role purely because she's a woman, the courts often focus on the child's needs and try to make the divorce impact their life as little as possible so they often give primary custody to the child primary caretaker and the parent that the child spends most of their time with which is majority the mother, most custody agreement are settled out of court anyway and both parents equally agree that the mother takes primary custody, and men are actually more likely to get primary custody if they just ask for it but because people take statistics and remove the context then spread around false claims that men don't get custody so many men don't even bother, then there s the last one where men just don't want to have custody. the second is alimony, alimony is often payed to the ex spouse who has a lower source of income and less personal assets. the reason why women get alimony majority of the time is because women typically work less hours, have lower paying jobs, more likely to be a stay at home wife which negatively impacts their ability to get a job, get given primary custody if they have kids, have way more medical bills to cover, and generally being a woman costs over $1,300 more every year on average in 2015 but due to inflation has certainly increased beyond that, the women are given alimony because they need it to survive. the same reasons for splitting assets. "women are 69% more likely to initiate divorce". yep thats true, because marriage is incredibly unfair towards women while heavily benefits men. reasons divorces happen is men are drastically more likely to commit adultery compared to women, there is a drastic disparity in equality in the bedroom where sex is often one sided and heavily about mens pleasure and ignores woman's needs frequently and can often end up to be a very harmful situation for women where sexual health for women aren't taken seriously to the point its considered normal for women to suffer sexual disfunction such as unable to get aroused, women are constantly doing more than their fair share of the domestic labour and emotional labour despite having full time jobs, while men receive employment benefits when married women do not and often see a negative impact and loose out on things like promotions and other benefits, men get tax benefits while women don't, men are treated better in healthcare while women are treated worse often being asked to get their husband permission on medical care or are completely ignored in favour for the husband, women aren't included on spousal agreements and the decision making is often left to the husband, women are often expected and harassed into providing a child or being solely responsible for the contraception and the ones mainly forced to take accountability when it fails. this is just but a small list as to why marriage is unfair towards women while benefiting men. women suffer more financial difficulties and drastically increase their chances of living in poverty. however there is some benefits to women that men don't have. they spend less time doing chores where as men spend more hours. women also take moderate relief post divorce in this domain while men typically are heavily negatively impacted as a result of men being typically endorsing gender rolls so by doing something that is typically thought of as a female-typed activity it can add more stress to the divorce by adding dissonance to their gender identity. men will see a greater health decline and life satisfaction decline as a result of the divorce because they no longer have the benefits of the health increase form the marriage. it also causes mens morality to decline post divorce. there are behavioural differences as the national library of medicine puts it "A second explanation highlights behavioral differences in the predivorce period. Women are more aware of marital problems and make greater investments in holding a marriage together (Baruch et al. 1983). At the same time, women are more likely to initiate divorce after they accept that their efforts are hopeless (Brinig and Allen 2000; Kalmijn and Poortman 2006). Because this decision often takes men by surprise (Thomas 1982), they might become more distressed when their marriage breaks down. Women who initiate divorce might already feel the relief of having terminated an unhappy relationship. These considerations suggest that men’s and women’s health and subjective well-being may adapt on different time scales: Women suffer from the impending end of a marriage already in predivorce years, whereas this process is delayed-and possibly more devastating-for men.". men are more likely to find another partner 70% within ten years while only 50% of women are able to achieve said goal. TLDR: the reason why men loose more in divorce is because they gain more in marriage and loose those benefits when the marriage ends sending them back to when they were first single. "Living in the lap of luxury isn’t bad except that you never know when luxury is going to stand up."- Orson Wells "to the privileged, introducing equality feels like a loss"

My advice goes to therapy get yourself on the control with unresolved childhood trauma. And I think your mom is so hurt with the fact that your dad kept you from contacting her that the moment you finally could she was like I don't care about you you're just as toxic as he is. My thing is give her time right her mothers and explain to her what your mind was like as a child. People often take advantage of a good person. One thing spouses need to know is that when a good natured sensible person take a decision they never go back on their decision. It is because they give enough forgiveness that when they act they know that he or she has nothing more to give. The offenders are bewildered because they can do nothing. 1st story: Man, I'm sorry OP you had this witch as a wife, let alone mother of your kid. I'm glad everything work out and that you focus on being a better father. Even tho, this is my opinion so just skipped if you want it, it's a bit weird you are with someone who is 10 years younger, you do you. About the Ex wife and his AP. Welp... Not your issue nor your fault. Have fun in Thailand. 2nd story: Your kid is probably leasing out because she is also affected. People who do this are simply not worth the spit, don't take her BS of "I'm sorry, I love you, I was stupid" blablabla. 3rd story: oh goodnes. I'm so sorry OP. Look, man, focus on being the best father as possible, only talk about your ex about the kids, that's it. And please seek therapy. Kids aren't stupid, they know who their real dad is. 4th story: That is a really fricked up family. Still, I think you should get a therapist. Also, your dad is a POS.

I was waiting for a response like yours; damn sure it was just a matter of time. Anyway, I couldn't care less about your insinuation and if you had a mnimum of experience, absence of hypocrisy (aka you were honest with yourself) and weren't brainwashed by that stupid politically correct racial bs, you would agree with me. There's ton of docs about thais families selling their kids, and this story is about one girl working in a spa doing massages, that met a millionaire and is about to marry him. It sounds like a cliché.... Racism got nothing to do with it and misogyny either. Moreover, mine is not the first comment of the sort in this section, so go bother someone else.

@@regulus6936 so marrying above your class is wrong. Dispite never having step foot into Thailand or meeting a single thai person, thai families sell thier children. Women who work at spas are inherently bad for marrying men with high end jobs especially if they have children. Supporting family is backward. As someone who has a) actually been to Thailand, and b) have friends who are Thia. I call bullshit

There should be tough prison time for cheating with no bail, if a relationship doesn't work and don't want to work on fixing it just break up then and there before you find someone else. It keeps the damage minimal. Damnnn reading this kind of things takes out a emotional part of a human body, or rather emotionally prepared for the worst.
@somerandomviewer
@somerandomviewer Жыл бұрын
i get where you are coming from but why would it be a crime? it technically violates peoples autonomy and free will if it were to be criminalised. also what people consider to be cheating changes based off of who the person is. for example some think that watching "movies" is cheating but others won't. some consider self pleasure cheating, while others don't. this leaves it incredibly ambiguous and lets the law be open for manipulation. while yes, cheating leaves a lot of emotional damage and trauma, its not really violating any rights or doing anything that could be considered an offence. in order for cheating to be a crime you'd need to make it so those who are in a relationship have no free will to make choices for themselves or have any right over sexual autonomy, essentially stripping them of any consent or bodily autonomy. the only reason why crimes that include sex is illegal is because there is no consent present. by making cheating illegal it removes the individuals ability of consent or being able to freely give consent by themselves rendering any consent invalid it also makes it impossible to revoke consent such as exit a relationship unless the partner also agrees to it. this leaves a massive issue where many cases of abuse will surface. then there are other things people consider to be cheating which actually aren't by definition such as being a victim of any form of SA. as SA can be difficult to prove, the evidence of SA can be easily misconstrued as being cheating in court, this then causes a chain reaction of rampant victim blaming, survivors refusing to report, and if you implement the rule of using reports to avoid cheating charges then false reports will rise, causing actual survivors to be ignored and punished.

Cheating isn’t right. Children can love their stepparents more. It depends on the situation with their parents. I ended up loving my stepdad more that my father, mental issues there. My kids loved their stepdad more also. He was their father in every way including their stepbrothers. My said they were their brothers not step. Now the girlfriend from Thailand. I’d have a conversation about supporting her parents & r they going to live with her parents & siblings. It’s good that his daughter really likes her. Sounds like a good emotional relationship.

Some people are bringing up the financial thing for thai family. Here is what most people keep forgetting. The guy actually does not mind being the financial provider...usually is good with it. It is this western way that people want the man to be the financial provider while the woman doesnt have to put up her side of the bargain or even be allowed to cheat. They also dont like that being in this position means he can get screwed forever if she initiates a divorce. Men in the west are systematically getting stripped their rights as fathers and husbands and now people are getting surprised pikachu face when marriage has dropped. If you think I'm spouting some incel crap, answer this. Why are people surprised when a man doesnt wanna marry, but not shocked he lives in his car and poor as a result of a divorce?

from the national library of medicine: "Numerous studies have shown that the economic costs of divorce fall more heavily on women. After separation, women experience a sharper decline in household income and a greater poverty risk . Their former husbands, in contrast, may even improve their standard of living in postdivorce years. ...the resulting gender gap for the United States, estimating a 27 % decline among women and a 10 % increase among men... . Other U.S. estimates for women’s drops in economic well-being are even larger . Similar results were found ... women’s household incomes 1 year after divorce amounted to only two-thirds of those of their former husbands. Explanations for these gender inequalities. ...(1) higher economic need and restricted earning capacities in the presence of children; (2) insufficient child maintenance; (3) disproportionate loss of income, which is often not fully compensated by spousal maintenance; and (4) human capital deficits resulting from gender specialization in the division of labor during marriage." "Housing and domestic outcomes figure prominently among the stressors associated with the divorce process. One line of research in this area has asked whether men or women are more likely to move out after separation. According to rational choice models, the question of who moves out is answered on the basis of each partner’s resources and costs associated with staying and moving, including direct costs of moving but also costs in terms of disrupting ties to family, friends, and the workplace... ... Given that divorce constitutes a major life course risk of losing homeownership, a number of housing studies have examined gender inequality in this risk. ...women are, on average, more dependent on their partners and therefore at a higher risk of losses in terms of quality and security of housing after divorce. If spouses who own their home separate, ...require providing for a mortgage and buying the interest of the ex-partner-a task that is often unaffordable for women. In line with these considerations, ... women are more likely than men to lose homeownership after divorce ... gender specialization and low levels of women’s labor force participation may contribute to these differences. ... ... examined implications for the performance of housework and the gendered division of household labor. Although studies have focused more on the reverse direction of this relationship (i.e., how gender roles in the home affect the risk of divorce), some have addressed the effects of divorce on the performance of housework. Two-wave panel studies have shown that men substantially increased their time spent on routine housework after separation, whereas women moderately reduced their housework hours (Baxter et al. 2008; Gupta 1999). A multiwave panel study indicated that these changes may be permanent (Hewitt et al. 2013). To the extent that routine housework can be considered an onerous activity, these findings suggest that women experience a moderate relief in this domain, whereas men’s domestic well-being is more strongly, and more negatively, affected. The latter might apply particularly to men who endorse traditional gender role attitudes. Among those men, greater involvement in female-typed activities might exacerbate divorce-related stress by adding dissonance to their gender identity (West and Zimmerman 1987). To gain more insight into these issues, it is useful to complement objective measures of hours spent on routine housework by subjective measures, such as satisfaction with performing these tasks. this is just but a small fraction of the information with some of it being shortened. link to the paper: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5992251/#:~:text=In%20these%20domains%2C%20several%20studies,after%20separation%20(Shor%20et%20al.
