i underestimated a giraffe's ability to duel in sword to sword combat

There's something neat about the Straw Hats vs CP9 that I rarely see brought up. CP9 is made up of assassins who are all trained to effectively use the six powers. They rank themselves in such a way that ignores individual skills and powers and instead focuses on pure physical strength. They even all dress the same. The World Government treats them as roughly interchangeable and identical. They're meant to all be able to fulfil any order given, no matter which one it's given to. Their boss's orders are absolute, despite the fact that Spandam is a moron with more political power than anything. Fukurou notes that even a footsoldier with a rifle is a bigger threat in a straight fight. The only things that make him a threat are all external: His sword (which does have a will of its own) and the golden Transponder Snail, which was given to him by Aokiji to ensure Robin's compliance. Meanwhile, the Straw Hats are a diverse group of individuals. They don't rank themselves internally by any means and are all good at different tasks. They each know where they can best be utilized to take advantage of their strengths and mitigate their weaknesses ("I'll do what you can't do, so you do what I can't do" -Sanji to Usopp). Their fighting styles are all unique and varied. Their captain is a physical powerhouse that relies on others to help come up with strategies and trusts them to figure out where they can shine, and his crew trusts him to take care of the most dangerous threat on the other side of the board so they can get their jobs done. What makes him most dangerous is all internal: His indominable will, his willingness to do whatever he needs to do to rescue a friend, and a charisma that inspires people to follow him to the gates of Hell and back.

This arc is one of those arcs that made me cry so many times I suggest watching the usopp and luffy's talking scene (19:06) in the the anime too, the voice acting is crazy (it still give me chills watching it) and kokoro being mermaid (20:04), it was foreshadowed in one the scenes that she was talking with the frog and luffy asked her how she can talk with the frog but she laughed and changed the subject and I really like your drawings, they're so cute :)

Up to this point Spandam is my most hated villain. He is the representation of nepotism, incompetence and indoctrination; he plays his part so good and is just a small weakling. One piece doesn’t need to make the story about him because the story built itself with him as a minor character who has big repercussions for his actions

I think Enies Lobby marks the end of the innocence age of One Piece. Sure, the arcs before had their dark moments, and the upcoming ones have their silliness, but this is the first time the curtain is pulled back and the darkness of the OP and the horribleness of World Government is truly put in display. And there is no going back.

The fight between Usopp and Luffy really push Luffy to it's limit at that point. A hard decision as a Captain. For Luffy as a Captain that was his first hard decision.

Yeah, this is where the series just takes everything to masterpiece levels. Also yeah, anytime there is a seperate "Post-X" arc, expect to get a LOT of major reveals and lore bombs in a very short timeframe.

Sun never setting on Ennies Lobby is just because it is placed at the Weast Pole, which is left of Nouth, above Sest, and down the street across from the pharmacy of Other Weast. Nah, but it can be seen as a metaphor how unchanging the judical system of the WG is. Every person that was sent to Ennies Lobby were convicted guilty.

I've just been binging this series of yours and it is such a joy to see you experience One Piece for the first time. The quality of the videos are also so amazing. Keep up the good work!

All the Admirals and Vice Admirals know full well what a Buster Call entails, I think you mean the CP folks like Spandam and his father who are given the ability to call one are the people who don’t understand the gravity of it. I love how feral Colleen Clinkenbeard sounds when Luffy growls “Second Gear”.

I like this lol. I literally just finished this arc so I completely agree with alot of your questions/points. When I tell you this arc made me SOB. So much emotion and they all pushed themselves so hard and don't even get me started on how much I cried about them having to give up The Going Merry.

Enies Lobby is my favorite arc in One Piece! I don't think, I'll ever feel the same emotion ever again when Robin says she wants to live... Thanks for your review

Liked the video. But I have few points just in case. - You say around 7:15 here that "Even the *Navy* doesn't seem to fully understand what Buster Call is" but you show Spandam and his father. Neither one is part of the Navy. Spandam is the chief of intelligence agency CP9. Those are not the same organizations. I'm not saying your sentence was inherently wrong (I wouldn't expect every foot soldier to know details or anything) but it seemed your observation was based on Spandam, who is completely unrelated to Navy. - Then you said "Even the *admirals* in Ohara also don't understand what Buster Call does" and you show Spandine. He is not an admiral. Infact there were no admirals at Ohara as far as we know. Sengoku was the admiral who gave Spandine the authority to order Buster Call if the archeologists were found to be researching Poneglyphs. But he wasn't personally there nor did it change Spandines status in any way. He was still the chief of intelligence agency. Not a marine. There were vice-admirals there, but those are different from actual admirals. Hence the different name of the rank. I'm writing this just in case you weren't just speaking figuratively. It is pretty important to understand which characters are part of which groups and what their ranks are within those groups. Otherwise you might misunderstand lot of things in the future and get confused while reading.

So the reason the marines can enter the gates or justice and not be attacked is because their ships are equipped with so much sea prism stone in the baseboards the sea kings and whatnot don't sense them. Sea prism stone is a stone formed in the sea which basically has the properties of the actual sea or whatever idk exactly but koby and helmeppo explain it when come see luffy in water 7, after the whole enies lobby thing. So since the stone is made up of the same stuff as the sea it basically "cloaks" the navy's ships. I hope that makes sense lol

Great video!! Just bc you might have missed the explanation about the Gates of Justice: They are literally that, huge gates. Once you pass them, the sea current can lead you to two places: Marine HQ and Impel Down, the prison (aside from Enies Lobby, the judicial island). That’s why they had to get to Robin before that. Going alone into any of those places it’s a bad idea.

I have noticed that your microphone is peaking pretty often during the last couple of videos which is a little grading on the ears, especially since I’m enjoying your content mostly as an auditory experience. If you look closely on the story of Sky Piea.. what's happening there is also what's happening in the world of One Piece. You'll see who'll play as FAKE GODS and what is Luffy's role in One Piece. It's already been told as a foreshadow.. in Sky Piea.
