I just wanted to add that I discovered your videos while researching nutrition for hormonal balance for a loved one with a medical issue. I applied your advice and, without any difficulty at all, lost twelve pounds in the first two months, feel extremely energetic and stopped falling asleep in the middle of the afternoon, and see a very noticeable difference in my skin’s brightness and clarity. I am 55 years old and really wasn’t even trying for any of this-it was just a fringe benefit of the protein-in-the-morning, intermittent fasting and walking that I was implementing to help a family member. It was so easy. I am eating more than I used to eat when my habit was to grab a bagel or bowl of oatmeal in the morning. I am getting out with my family every day for long walks (and great talks). I discovered I love a cup of peppermint tea! None of this has been a sacrifice. I only wish I had found your channel sooner. Your hormonal balancing series is especially helpful. If you ever do a video specific to helping lean PCOS (most likely cortisol/anxiety induced, not insulin sensitivity induced), I would be deeply interested. Thank you again so much.

Some times after hard weight training work outs, I get hungry a couple hour after dinner. If so, I make sure it's at least 2 hours before bed, because if I eat to close to bed I get acid reflux in the middle of the night. I'll have a handful of almonds, or pumpkin seeds with a coyple slices of swiss cheese and I'm satified mama. 😋

Great advice, thank you. I notice you included Simple Mills almond crackers as an example of a food you might grab if you were too hungry. Any insight on this would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Hi! Most "almond crackers" or other crackers made with alternative ingredients (like cauliflower, coconut, etc.) usually have a lot of cassava flour or tapioca starch which actually have a higher glycemic load than regular wheat flour.

What if you brake your fast with oatmeal, with whey protein, chia and strawberry? The protein level on the whey isolate is probably as high or higher than the two eggs. Just curious.
@AutumnBates
@AutumnBates Жыл бұрын
Adding whey protein and chia seeds will definitely help to offset the essentially non-existent protein in oatmeal, but it depends on the individual's carb tolerance. I've found in the past that even when I added protein, chia seeds and greek yogurt to oatmeal, it still made me hungry *much* faster than if I had eggs.

@@AutumnBates thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I love your channel! I eat oatmeal (with protein, Chia, and Strawberries) 3 times a week, 3 times. Week eggs with cottage and veggies and the 7th day is kind of whatever I want. This is based on your recommendations and it has really worked for me. I do not get hungry and I have been able to manage my weight and build a bit of muscle.

1. 2 eggs at breakfast, higher levels of satiety 2. Mint tea, suppressed appetite 3. Pair Collagen rich foods with protein. what are these?? Smoothie powder, bone broth 4. Go on a short walk after meal, especially outside bc it helps lower cortisol and overeating from stress state, and more 5. Magnesium supplement - helps improve sleep, even one night of bad sleep increases cortisol, eating hormone and increases cravings for sugar!!! Wow. A good tool to help poor sleep. She takes 500mg, my doc said 300, May depend on type, there are different toes with different impacts on body.

@@michelledelarosa5067FYI, broth wasn't made with bones. If it was made with bones it's called stock.
@AutumnBates
@AutumnBates Жыл бұрын
"Stock" and "bone broth" are similar, although bone broth is simmered longer (and therefore has more collagen that can be extracted). Stock is great, but if you want to maximize on collagen and nutrients, bone broth's longer cook time helps with that. Regular "broth" (meaning not specifically "bone broth") is an entirely different thing that doesn't usually have much nutrient value at all.
