I love the refina superflexs had them all. But I'm back to my favourite which is the refina superflex 2 👌

Great vid! I may give one a go at some point. I'm love my Ox ultraflex but you can't go wrong with refina

Cheers bud 😉 It’s good but It’s not as instant as My first one. I just bought a ox mini flex trowel and that’s ace for the little spaces.

This trowel is a beast had one since it was released and it's a great trowel i use it in combination with two other trowels to get what i think is the perfect finish 👌

Is one of the other trowel the plaziflex?

@@AnthonyParryPlastering yes i use the nela black edition after the superflex 3 and the plaziflex to finish with.

I literally use it for the final dry trowel in my opinion it's unmatched, I've been plastering for the best part of 10 years now and for 8+ of them years it was just marshalltown all the way, After a couple of trial and error years i think I've finally found the best way for me to get the perfect finish. Stick out the plaziflex dont use any water with it and stay away from corner beads would be my only advice and as it breaks in it gets better like.any other trowel.

I found it heavy and caused quite alot of strain on my wrist... Sold it....

It is heavier than my old trowel, but I’ve not had any problems with my wrist yet. I’ve heard the Marshalltown is pretty light.

I'm told the superflex3 is an all rounder trowel as apposed to the superflex 1/2 which are lighter,i have 16" ox and 14" nela which i prefer tbo but its a matter of feel i think.

Recently got the same trowel and I really don’t like it. How did you break it in? I’ve tried everything but it makes a mess of every wall it gets used on. It’s so bad I can get a better finish with a brand new riveted trowel. I keep hoping I can persevere with it and it will come good but it’s nearly gone in the skip a few times and I wanted to stamp on it the other day. The worst skimming trowel I’ve ever had to be honest.

I still don’t think I’ve broken mine in properly yet. It’s definitely not as instant as my old Superflex. But I’ve only really struggled with the sharpness in the beginning I kept digging in every now and then. I’ve heard on my Facebook post that some people hate them and some love them. I’m not at the loving stage yet thou. But you’ve got try to find out what’s best for you.

To be fair you only need one. But there’s no harm in making life a bit easier 😉

I tend to buy all the new trowels to give them a bash, personally i dont tend to keep any of the medium flex ones such as the black edition, refina 3 or the nela medi flex... As the 1st two passes over the wall we concentrate on flatness and use rigid trowels for that, then last 2 passes are for closing in/polishing which we use flexi's.... I understand why people will use the medi flexi's but i dont like the way they don't break in... Yes they will sharpen but that isnt breaking in to me, breaking in is the blade starting to curve slightly due to the pressure applied..

I’m the same first 2 passes I stick to my marshalltown and then move to my flex after that. What’s you go to flex then?

@@AnthonyParryPlastering it has to be the ox ultra flex... Its the nela flex but branded as ox (and cheaper).. It has plenty of flex but what i really like is the width, it is narrower than all the others so dont need to rotate my wrist as much when troweling up... Im a big fan of ox... I changed all my putting on trowels to ox from marshalltown as the steel is slightly less rigid so breaks in better....
