Part two of our diy underground bar dug out of Jordan Sandstone. This is located at "Sandland", a friend's property devoted to tunnels and other fun projects.
Part one of this project can be found here: • Digging an Underground...

I never thought the term "man cave" would be taken so literally, this is perfect.

That sand is beautiful but would be painting everything to give a bit more stability as I went along. Maybe use clear coat where I natural sand to show.

I love the " Sandland " episodes. To bad the Flexseal wasn't stronger. I was going to suggest a clear acrylic spray, but that may just get absorbed right into the sand, but maybe its worth a try. Good idea with the plastic box to keep things dry, such a damp environment down there. Keep up the good work.

In the potash mines they use a special white paint to paint the ribs and back with in permanent areas like offices and shops etc to keep everything from flaking so much and it holds up very well but I don’t know what it’s called 😶

There was a bar made out of cave in St Paul,MN. Very popular with gangsters in 1930's

Amazing. A dude has to wonder how hard it would be to drill a few holes from the surface and line them with casing and make some serious ventilation. A small water well drill could do it or possibly a gas powered auger with a really long extension and a nice head frame to hold onto the auger on the surface. I'm also surprised you aren't using a rail system to move the sand out. A train with a series of maybe 50 tiny buckets the size of a one gallon milk jug can move way more sand than a little wheel barrow can. Also, wider chisels on your impact drills that are used for digging would be first on my list. I believe you could make them out of junk and sharpen them daily when you leave for the day and sharpen them in your garage which is also filled with junk.

Bar looks good man. But honestly I would get some wood in there. Like a proper British pub with all the wood panelling.

Being a self admitted "flashaholic," I couldn't help but notice that incredibly bright 🔦beam of light as you took us on a tour. Would you mind sharing the make/model?

I love the idea of a big sandstone building with random entertainment.

I'm thinking some kind of water based sealant. A polyurethane or something similar. If it's thinned out a little perhaps it would soak into the sandstone enough to create a decent protective crust. The problem with anything like the bedliner or paint is it's just a surface cover and would fall off fairly rapidly. You need something that's going to become a half inch or more shell so it doesn't just brush away.

Wonder if you could get some multi-stage drill bits, like oil rig or a well digging rig to make long conduits easily. Cool videos!
