Great video! I asked Uncleseiko about the 7C43 diver and he didn´t really know if his version of the Z199 would fit. But it seems it probably will fit just fine 😃 Thanks again for some great info 👍🏻

I have a 1982 Pulsar which has a Y514 movement which is apparently is really similar to a 7548 but is date only. I have had it since new and it still keeps great time. I have never had it serviced, maybe I should!

Hello Spencer and great work! Hey anywhere I can purchase this jubilee bracelet? I know you say that they are rare, but if you know anybody or any other jubilee brand close to this quality let me know! I can't wait for my 6309 turtle to arrive in the mail! But I have to admit that jubilee bracelets are probably my fav of all Stainless steel bands ! They just feel like butter on the wrist!

Can I use the z199 for the seiko skx013?

Spencer---any thoughts on the srp773 and various versions, i.e. dial markings-Made in Japan, Japan movement, 4Rxx, etc? Im seeing them vary greatly in price from $225 to $375. Any idea which of those is the real deal and any to avoid? Regards.
@SpencerKleinVintageWatch7 жыл бұрын
Honestly, except for dial markings, they're all the same watch made by the same people on the same lines in the same factory. Choose the one you like and go for it!

Hi Spencer, always love your videos. I have a question, what do you think about the Miyota 9015? Any reason why seiko hasn't made the seiko 7548 case in quartz ?
@SpencerKleinVintageWatch7 жыл бұрын
i don't know much about the 9015 except that it's used in a lot of watch models. I've never personally touched or seen one. I don't follow on your second question - the 7548 is quartz, but the case it uses is literally identical to the 6309-729x, they're same exact case.

sorry i was typing on my phone. The question i wanted to ask : Any reason why seiko hasn't made new quartz model in the SKX case?
@SpencerKleinVintageWatch7 жыл бұрын
Software Developer ok gotcha. I don't know. They did make the successor 7C43-7010 from '86 to 9? But then they refocused on automatics, I don't know why. I wonder if one could put a 7C into an SKX case...

Hey Spencer, love your work and I have a question that if you didn't know they no one would. It it possible now to make the 6309-7040 water tight? I know for a long time you couldn't get the crown gasket but not that Seiko is making the watch again is this a possibility? I really love mine. I actually like it more so than the Omega SMP I have. I just wish it was water tight. Crazy enough it keeps just as good time as my Omega. Thank you.
@SpencerKleinVintageWatch7 жыл бұрын
the crown seals for these are available, you might be thinking of the predecessor model, the 6105 divers. So, in theory, yes, but I don't test and strongly recommend against immersion or water exposure. These are vintage divers now, not working watches, if you ask me. I don't get mine near water ever.
@artby2wenty7 жыл бұрын
I appreciate your fast reply. I understand the reasoning. It would be nice if it was though. Its hard to remember to take it off. I have jumped in a pool before without remembering and had to take the watch apart once already. I really like wearing it and wish it was able to get wet without getting ruined. What would be the cost to do new gaskets if I wanted to do that. Mine was serviced just a little while ago so I wouldn't need that. Thank you. If you need an email to provide the price I can do that. Just let me know.

If the sealing surfaces are good, if the case is clean, if the seals are new, in theory it should be able to cope BUT I have just seen too many dead watches. But I have a skewed sample size, as they come here when they need work. I just don't know that it's worth it. Yes, it would be nice to have a vintage watch that does all it is supposed to. For me, it's a risk, and I work to minimize risks.

@@1968jpy BTW if you've been searching for one you probably know that genuine vintage Seiko Z199's are rare; very hard to find and EXTREMELY expensive seemingly regardless of condition. Uncle Seiko's reproduction Z199s are absolutely outstanding, reasonably priced, and readily available for shipment. I own three of them (actually four if you count the 20mm SKX013 version I modified to fit one of my vintage Citizen 52-0110 divers) and give them my highest possible recommendation!

Michael Sands thanks very much for this info . I own a skx009 that was given to me from my twin brother this past Christmas and to my surprise he put it on a brand new Strapcode 3D super oyster bracelet. Funny thing is I’m a huge fan of the jubilee style bracelets but to my surprise I’m loving this Strapcode 3D super oyster vey much 👍🏻. I have considered putting on a Strapcode angus jubilee bracket but in no hurry maybe one day .
