Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZfaq, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZfaq. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZfaq, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

It was released by Playing for Change-with Robbie Robertson (who wrote this song) Ringo Starr, and musicians and singers from around the world. Simply amazing. It will blow your socks off! Before they were The Band they were a legendary bar band backing up Ronnie Hawkins, an early Rockabilly singer, for many years learning their trade. They briefly went on their own as Levon and The Hawks until they were recommended by John Hammond Jr. to Bob Dylan who was quietly looking a band to support his entry into Rock N Roll. The rest is history. They were virtually booed off the stage everywhere they played with Dylan although the music they produced is now considered some of the best live rock performances ever. (Check out anything from 1966 with Dylan and The Band). After Dylan's motorcycle accident near Woodstock NY. Dylan took what turned out to be an eight year break from touring. He moved the group up near him, kept them on salary and they just worked on music in The Basement of their house that they named Big Pink. It was there that the styles and influences of music they taught each other culminated in the legendary Basement Tapes that were never meant to see the light of day. It leaked and the first bootleg album and cottage industry surrounding Dylan was born. Locals in Woodstock just referred to the them as Dylan and the band, Thats how their name came about and the whole Americana category of music was born.

One of the greatest farewell performances for one of the greatest bands. Seeing Levon Helm singing and drumming just stirs up a lot of emotions for me. And then you have Miss Mavis Staples first come in just sends chills. This is one of my top 10 songs that I feel like I need to listen to at times. There is also a very moving rendition performed by artists from all around the world led by Ringo Starr and Robbie Robertson himself not too long before his death. I believe it is under Musicians For Change.

This is an iconic performance from two iconic groups. The Band has played with Bob Dylan and Van Morrison and many more. They are all passed away now, Robbie Robertson (Double necked guitar) was the last to leave us less than a year ago. Same with The Staple Singers. Mavis Staples is still alive I think, but Papa Staples and the others have passed away as well. What great music we had in the 1960s and 70s.

Apparently Dylan proposed or suggested marriage to Mavis staple in the early 60s but she turned him down as she felt they were both too young, she was also his opening act in the American leg of his tour in 2017 or 18.

just because I know you'll ask: the mandolin-guitar double neck guitar is a Gibson 1235. Early '60s vintage. Good luck finding one these days. I've plucked around on one a long time ago, and it was fun enough on the action and playability, but the electronics sucked like crazy. Everything went haywire all at the same time.

Lots of times you hear friends talking or articles in media ask, "name song remakes better than the original " and you always get a different performer or group doing the original song differently. Well, I nominate this version as the winner of the best remake of an already great song by the original group. I loved the original, but this version is basically musical heaven. The two groups harmonies and different vocal styles just mesh together beautifully, heavenly really. These two groups were destined to perform this song together and music is better for it. Thanks for your comments, and your smile throughout the performance was clear indication of how you felt about it. Great job and love your takes. Thanks for doing this one..

IMVHO this is the definitive version of this song. Mavis and Roebuck "Pops"(RIP) Staples, Drummer Levon Helm(RIP) and Bassist Rick Danko(RIP) all take a verse. Guitarist and Songwriter Robbie Robertson(RIP), and Keyboardists Richard Manuel(RIP) and Garth Hudson provide very capable back up.. Pretty damn good, I'd say. With the movie Direction by Martin Scorsese it couldn't look and sound much better.
