Arthas, as he sinks his blade into Sylvanas again- “this is getting old”

Arthas beat Illidan, if he'd only grown that much more powerful in the interim there's no way current Silvanas wins. This speculation really strikes me as quite weak.

Lich king didn’t die till his sword got broken while he wasn’t paying attention to Tyrion. So in 1v1 combat arthas wouldn’t lose tbh.

You do have to remember that when Arthas took hold of Frostmourne he was able to crush his former soldiers and raise them immediately. This is without the crown of domination so Arthas was still a mortal who could be slain even being bested and almost killed by Uther. But from there his power started growing and growing even with the power of Ner Zul seeping out of the frozen thrown. It is also stated that common death nights draw power from the shadowlands so Arthas would be able to draw much more power from it making him even more powerful. There is also the fact that Arthas is the only boss we encountered that actually "killed" us. If you look at how Bolvar was able to move the rock pillars in the cinematic for shadowlands and he didn't embrace the power of the crown we can only imagine what Arthas would be able to do. Forgot to mention that Arthas had at least the power of Odyn being able to turn some Valahjar to Val kyr.

How would Sylvanas be able to be empowered by the Jailor if Arthas as the powerful lich king and the jailor of the damned himself was still alive?

All Arthas needs to do is have Sylvanas do guitar slide into his sword again.

Arthas would win. Sylvanas got much more powerful since their last fight, but if Arthas was still alive he would have grown more powerful as well.

All you said was really interesting but you forgot something very important, the psychological pressure Arthas has on Sylvanas. During the fight, there will necessarily be a moment when Sylvanas will have a moment of hesitation, Arthas will cause this moment, and he will take the opportunity to pierce Sylvanas in one fell swoop without the slightest hesitation. In addition, Sylvanas being unable to use the light, she could not manage to get rid of Frostmourne, which makes the Lich King almost invincible

Arthas would rip her soul out for a 2nd time, even without Frostmourne.

Guessing Frostmourne's power comes from Anima, since it keeps their souls. This is the exact same source of power as the Jailer - and in extension - Sylvanas. Arthas had way longer time gathering Anima for Frostmourne than Sylvanas has had, and despite the last war, it's not like there's been that much of an increase in death ever since the Scourge happend. The largest amount of death since her pact probably comes from Teldrassil and perhaps the Legion invasion. But Arthas did kill an entire kingdom, significantly larger than Teldrassil, and also most of Northrend. Also all the deaths since the pact hasn't gone entirely to Sylvanas, since I expect the Jailer would've kept quite a bit for himself. I'm not sure that Arthas would win, but it would probably come down to whoever had gathered the most Anima, which is hard to know for sure, but given how much time Arthas had, and how much damage he did, I'd put my money on Arthas.

In the way Blizzard is going with the story Sylvanas would certainly win. The Lich King was a mighty being, but he was only an orc spirit trapped within an armor and empowered by the necromantic powers of Kil'jaeden. And Kil'jaeden was a mere mortal empowered by Sargeras (a titan). He was in the same level as Azshara. They both are powerful mortals empowered by god-like beings, but still mortal. So I could assume that the Lich King only had the powers Kil'jaeden gave him and also the powers he stole from the Shadowlands (great part of the Scourge's power comes from Maldraxxas, a realm within the Shadowlands). Sylvanas, on the other hand, seems to be empowered by the Jailer, who is a very ancient and powerful being, he may be a titan or something far older than the titans. We don't know much about him, but he certainly seems like a very powerful entity. And besides that, both Sylvanas and the Jailer are feeding on all those souls trapped within the Maw. Thousands died in the war beetween Alliance and Horde, and so both Sylvanas and the Jailer must be insanely powerful right now. So yeah, I think Sylvanas would win. And I'm angry, because I hate her character and I hate the way the story is being written just to please her fanbase. While Sylvanas is getting all the spotlight, interesting lore characters and storylines are being treated like shit. Teldrassil was destroyed, Saurfang died like an idiot, Lich King Bolvar was easily defeated, and both Azshara and N'zoth deserved their own espansion. I mean c'mon they couldn't make a single cinematic about the night elves arc? Why it's all about Sylvanas?

It makes me rather sad that this is even a valid question. And I guess the real answer is dependant on if Sylvanas has her plot armor on or not, if she does then she wins even 1v1 against Sargeras or a Void Lord. If not, she gets destroyed by Malfurion.

If you also remember in the books. She Arthas was still human wielding Frostmorne, he was so fast with it, he blocked arrows. So Sylvanas would have had been able to hit him and therefore unable to chain him like she did Bolvar.

Always enjoyed these X vs X videos :D But as for who wins...Arthas i would think, unlike Bolvar, he was far more powerful and fully embraced undeath at it's core. Despite Sylvanas being empowered by the Jailer, i think Arthas would be able to draw insane amounts of power from the whole of Shadowlands as time went on. *After all, while Bolvar would just keep the undead in check, Arthas would continue learning the secrets of Shadowlands, delve deeper and become more powerful over time.* Also, what would keep Arthas from finding out about the Jailer and somehow using his power or even abusing it? :P

Frostmourne was meant to keep the Anima of the Souls under the use of the Lich King. So Arthas have all the souls he slaughtered under his service. He totally obliterates two city states(Dalaran and Quel'Thalas) and left his homeland in ruin. Sylvanas has the Jailer sending to her the Anima of the Battle for Azeroth, which means the Night Elf genocyde, the Battle for Lordaeron, Siege of Dazar'Alor, Barrens, Arathi, Kul Tiran skirmishes and the two Sea Battles on Zandalar and on the Open sea. Arthas still has more souls because he commited two genocides, while most of Sylvanas war were about balanced battles with controlled casualties, with exception of Teldrassil. The fight would be a stalemate, with the nerubian's army and Kel Thuzad coming to rescue Arthas if he end up losing.

Arthas would have won hands down no question.

Okay, we got it. Sylvanas is the most powerful being and can defeat everyone and everything. You do even say "we dont even know her power level," and yet you suggest that he could defeat Arthas. How can you be so sure even if we dont know her exact power level? Seems legit.

Sylvanas vs Archimonde?

I don't agree, but I think that she has the potential to eventually surpass him, for now I'd say that she's around Illidan's level (in Legion), but not on Arthas's yet It's been a long time you didn't makes Vs, maybe I could suggest a Ragnaros vs LeiShen or Odyn vs Arthas or Mannoroth vs Ysera? It's 3 expansions already (Legion, BFA, and Shadowlands) about Sylvanas. The next cinematic and expansion will be about Sylvanas.

I just don't see a blood elf bitch taking on the guy that one-shot all of us with no difficulty and was only defeated because of being weakened and plot armor on Tirion. On top of that, Arthas has taken much more lives than the dead bitch and has stored a significantly greater amount of souls in Frostmourne. Also, the mental scars that Sylvanas has from Arthas are going to greatly affect her in the battle. She may appear all tough and shit but shitted herself in the Halls of Reflection, even though she had gotten way stronger since their first encounter. So all in all I think Arthas would turn her into a fucking salad.

The battle is full of to many unknown factors to decisively conclude. For example, we don't know the number of souls have been sent to the shadowlands and how powerful those souls that are there make Her. We don't know anything about how many souls Arthas had in frostmourne other the it was a lot and it made him pretty powerful. We also have to consider potential strategys. For example, Garrosh and the Horde vs Arthas and the Scourge then Sylvanas, her Army vs Arthas and ded bois. Garrosh, would likely play defensive till warsong hold was built, then would have tried to fought his way to Arthas likely suffering hundreds of thousands of casualties along the way losing at least a good part of his army and then being brought down by the lich king himself along side Saurfeng and maybe a handful of skilled warriors like Rexxas and Nazzgrim. Where as Sylvanas would slowly wear the scourge down at range slowly thinning out Arthas's numbers trying to tip the scales in her favor. Arthas, being a "Lich King" lore wise, Lichs are the most powerful undead creatures. Being King of the Lichs, which, Banshees are also undead so, we have to look at the possibility Arthas might be able to subdue Sylvanas with out having to fight her. The only reason. I may be using head cannon but, he basically told sylvanas "your next fate will be worse then the last" maybe implying he's not going to bring her back again? This fight basically has to happen on the Frozen Throne because, that is where Arthas is most powerful but, it is also where Arthas is able to be killed. Arthas had The most powerful Shaman alive aiding him as well as a Titan or at least a fragment of a titan, he had Frostmourne Which was made using the blood of an Old God, implied to be Yogg'saron, whom he was probably allied to because, it's really mc'freaking hard to make an Old God bleed with out going cray cray. I am unsure of sylvanas's Bow has any special powers, I know she uses it to great effect but, it's unclear if the bow make all the arrows "Black Arrows" or if she's doing that with Shadow Magic. We also have to look at resistences as, Saronite Armor is Resistent to all types of Magic. I am unaware of any benefits Sylvanas's armor has. Looking at the lore it seems like sylvanas's Black Arrows can Pierce Plate of the Damned. It appears as though Arthas has ties to the shadow land as well being Sylvanas had to destroy the crown to open the Shadowlands. She also says something interesting to bolvar. "YOU ARE NOT FIT TO WEAR THIS CROWN" She may be implying Arthas was a lot stronger then Bolvar. Maybe, even through her hatred of Arthas, She still respected his power. I doubt Sylvanas would try to dual Arthas like she did in HoR (Halls of Reflection) as while putting up a good fight, was still forced to retreat. I think she would go for more of a Vol'jin Approach and try to "Pierce his black heart" It may also be that Sylvanas while blinded by rage, take a more Garrosh-esque approach and try to war path her way into ICC. Canonically speaking, Arthas's potential ShadowLands visit might actually still be stronger then Sylvanas's. For example, the Alliance and Horde were involved in a very bloody war that was several years it's hard to say how long specifically but, the opening cinematic for World of Warcraft says "10 years sense the mortal races banded together" presumably against the Horde. Next, Does the TBC expansion technically include the Shadowlands because, it sounds like that is a whole separate thing. Up next was WOTLK and it's unknown how long the expansion lasted cannonically speaking. Same with cataclysm, Mists was said to be over in a few months, I can assume that means most expansion packs are. Giving how death filled Vanilla WoW was, and how Death Filled Arthas's rise to power was it's not completely unthinkable that Arthas might have more souls them Sylvanas. When Frostmourne broke, the souls Arthas had were set free, maybe even freeing the ones that were captured from the Shadowlands after he fell. Assuming this is not just head cannon, Which would mean the soul counter would Reset in cataclysm, cataclysm was bloody but, likely only lasted a few months Mists was bloody but, only lasted a few months, Warlords happened on Draenor on an alternate time line so, I am unsure if this counts or not. Parts of legion happened on Argus and so it's hard so say if it counts tords the shadowlands soul counter. During BFA Sylvanas intentionally started wars to increase her strength. Over all, I am unsure which has the greater soul count, what I will say is, 10 years is a long time to be stuck in a bloody war. I will also say that it seems like Sylvanas's were were not longevity wars but, she burned through a lot of lives quickly. There are to many factors to count. I will say I *Hope* Arthas would win but, I don't have an answer that is free of biased. We have to consider things like channel tim. Can sylvanas stay a banshee indefinitely or, can she only use it for a set amount of time? Can Arthas use "Frostmourne's Fury" at will or is that a one and done? Does Sylvanas's banshee form survive Frostmournes Fury? Assuming Arthas has every death knight ability up until Wrath's conclusion, Anti-magic zone and Anti-magic Shell combined with Saronite plate might completely nullify Sylvanas's Shadow Magic. Both are undead so, neither feel Pain or Fear. It's worth noting Sylvanas has almost killed Arthas 2 times. We need more info to conclusively decide who wins..

Bolvar was stupid enough to go 1v1 with her while he has an Undead Army at his feet ready to annihilate every soul on Azeroth.Arthas was never that dumb,the only reason we climbed the Icecrown Citadel to reach the Frozen Throne was because he wanted us to, and it took a literally Deus Ex to defeat him.Fighting Arthas 1v1 is one thing, fighting Arthas and the overpowered Scourge is a completely different story.Honestly,Sylvanas wouldn't be able to set a single foot in Northrend if Arthas was still up there.

I feel like sylvanas would lose to arthas’ army and if she did get through the army shed be beat up and arthas would finish him off. I normally wouldnt include an army on someones side but thats one of his abilities so i feel like you have to include it And realistically from a lore stand point no mortal is 1 shooting that army like they are 40 levels above it lol

But this can't be true, couse Arthas the Lich King defeated Illidan at Northrend. But Illidan killed Kil'Jaden?? And Kil'jaden is way more powerful than Sylvanas. And Arthas LK won against Illidan. I think both Illidan and Arthas Lich King would beat Sylvanas.

Arthas: - Was in top-form, when turned into the Lich King - Did have Frostmourne - Was a great leader of his army - Fought a lot , both as a Deathknight and then as the Lich King They are not on the same level. When we fought Arthas, he was: - Holding back on purpose - Was severely weakened (Heart destroyed and the plague from the Wrathgate) - Beat Adventurers, that took down an Old God, Elemental Lord, major Demons etc. - Was only brought down with the Ashbringer together with Tirion and Deus Ex Machina-Light-Power... The power difference is massiv, not just individually, but also with his army, as he did not use the "full" potential of the scourge.

I would say her plan is to have us kill the Jailor to destroy the Maw, therefore avoiding oblivion and saving all of Azeroth, and also, by doing so, claiming the Jailor's power and throne over the Maw for herself.

The only one who could've/should've beaten Arthas was Illidan. Strange, how Illidan and Sylvanas never interacted before although they both would've had a common enemy. And Illidan technically helped Sylvanas by freeing her from submission when he destroyed the Eye of Sargeras and weakened the Lich King.

So anybody else agrees that Sylvanas's story ended when she killed herself? You know before she came back to life & kind of turned into a shit character? Also I'm not upset that Sylvanas won against Bolvar. What I'm upset about is the fact that Bolvar did fuck all to gain power in all of that time he was sitting on his ass on The Frozen Throne. Even if his entire job was to just hold back the scourge not to conquer the world like Arthas, did he not think something might happen? Did he not think someone can come up to kill him & take the Helm of domination to repeat what Arthas did? I mean, obviously he did. He ended up getting some weapon & armor that did fuck all against Sylvanas. I would say the worst part about it is Saurfang landed a hit on her, Bolvar didn't. He missed every single hit. Even if she was holding back against Saurfang, that still doesn't make sense because the entire reason she fought him wants to torture him. she obviously was stronger than Saurfang so why all of a sudden at the moment when he was talking she just decided to stop trying? You mean to tell me she let an old ass orc, who she was clearly stronger than, get a hit off her for dramatic effect? Honestly I think it would have been better if Sylvanas stayed dead. Her entire Arc is over. It's been over for years. I don't know why they keep dragging her worthless corpse.

Sylvanas likely couldn't kill arthas in his prime as the lich king. Not alone anyway. If she made it all yhe way through icecrown to his citadel, even if she could vaporize swarms of enemies at once or something crazy, she would have to fight through hordes and hordes of undead constantly assaulting without a break and she would have to kill beings of immense power to clear the way to Arthas. Even if she made it all the way to the frozen throne somehow, she's no Tirion Fordring. Arthas would likely kill her with little hesitation rather than keep her alive to gloat, knowing full well from past encounters that if she lives he will have to deal with her again at a later date.

Sylvanas clearly had windfury totem agaisnt saurfang and using traps in PVP like he did in arthas fight is pretty normal too. That's way to be OP hunter and people think it's empowered by some old-god.. :D

Arthas beat Illidan to climbe icecrown , this was Illidan whit the skull of ghuldan consumed. After beating Illidan he beacame the Lich king and his power increased manny fold. So in my opinion , no Sylvanas whuld have lost to the Arthas version of the lich king 1 on 1

this is the true lore about lich king with Arthas after he merge with nerzhul he has been out 4 years sat in the frozen throne at that time he was in shadowland fighting against all creature that is in shadowland and capture them arthas was fighting against jailer and he manages to defeat him and capture him after he finish in the shadowland he finally awake from his slumber and begin the invasion to the azeroth if anyone questioning about why arthas is so powerful at that time when he was be lich king its because he manage to capture all of creature in shadowlands and use all of their power and all the soul that he has been collected during his journey imagine how powerful he is when he struck down all of the raid member in 1 spell none of the bosses from wow can do that only him, he manange to be defeated by tirion fordring its because he got caught of guard when he is channeling the spell that will bring back the dead and in my opinion the weakness of frostmourne when its channeling spell that can make someone into undead because at that time when soul been transfer to the one he want to be ressurect, frostmourne become fragile so thats why tirion fordring manage to broke frostmourne and bring at end to arthas reign so the conclusion no matter how powerful they are they must be have a weaknesses

From the looks of cinematic, id say Bolvar got really strong just by putting the helm on his head. Now imagine Arthas with thousand powerful souls in frostmourne and the helm. Sylvannas wouldn't even have balls to show at ICC if Arthas was still there, nvm winning
