I have one of these rifles, some of these came to Australia in the 1970s which is when i got mine, it cost $90 aus, it has the waffenamt and the Israeli proof stamps, does not have the winter trigger guard , at the same time i bought a no4 mark 1* 303 made in the USA by savage, this was the same price and came from New Zealand, in pristine condition. Tony, Australia.

I bought an israeli mauser in the 80's in 7.62, it had a columbian crest on the top of the breach. It came with scope mounts on the top with the turned down bolt. What a lovely rifle it was and very accurate.

I have one I picked up for $50, it has the Czech lion crest on the top and several tiny stars of David all over the receiver covering the Nazi markings. It was clean as a whistle, chambered in 7.62 nato.

Damn when did you get that?

Good review. I'd love to have an Israeli K98k in 7.62.

Expensive if you manage to find one. Last one I recently found is over $1,300 if I remember correctly.

I also have a ISRAELI k98 Mauser with peened out emblems and is chambered for the 7.62 Nato. Mine also has a D symbol on one side of the stock the #661 painted on the other and what appears to be the star of David on the side of the receiver.

I really like the story behind these K98K rifles. Do you ever see them with the German laminate stock? I've always liked the laminate stock. Thanks for sharing

A question for you....did the Israelis shorten the magazine well for more reliable feeding? If so, did they shorten it from the front or the rear of the magazine? I was thinking that shortening from the rear would make it feed better, but then it would render loading by stripper clips as impossible.

I want one some day, just bought my first mauser, a mitchell's mauser k98, from 1944, first time I have seen a K98 in 6 years, since they are very much unicorns now, I got it as I figure I might not see another if I don't get it, and someone else wanted it, so I had to act fast, probaly one of the only K98 mausers in the area, since every other gunshop sells modern guns

I let go an FN Israeli Mauser many years ago before I realized what I had.

Mine is based on a Brno VZ24 action . Short side rail mount with a Pecar scope and a Timmy trigger this rifle is a tack driver out to 300 . Very underestimated rifles . Many a time has shocked people at local range with its accuracy

That trigger guard ruins the entire looks of the rifle for me

Got a question for you. I have a isreali Mauser but it looks like there were sling swivels added to the bottom of the rifle at the front and on the bottom at the back. They don't look like they were done by any Hunter or gun Smith here. Are there any examples you've seen on this? I'd gladly send you pictures
@MilsurpWorld Жыл бұрын
Sounds like a Bubba thing, I don't think the Israelis did it.
@danieldalessandro96 Жыл бұрын
@@MilsurpWorld could be. They don't look like the typical sling mounts of a hunting rifle. I've never seen anything like them and they don't look bad.

I know alot of 7.62x51 guns shouldn't be fed 308 because of the pressure differences in the chamber but has anybody ever fired 308 from their 7.62 mauser? I'm picking one up and was curious if 308 is a bad idea or not
@bigboppa750 Жыл бұрын
I’ve put a few boxes of federal .308 through mine and never had any issues but wouldn’t recommend it, should really try and source what it wants even if it’s hard to find here in Aus.

What norvegan mausers did they get? Most norvegan mausers was germans left after the war. They are also marked 7,62,but in this case meaning 30-06. This is not the case by all of them. I guess you have seen Forgotten weapons episode about them by now.

The Israelis were happy with the Kar98k they bought. The Bf109s however, not so much.........

Any possibility of a columbian crested mauser to be an Israeli 7.62?
@MilsurpWorld4 жыл бұрын
Yes, some of the South American contract rifles, namely the 1912 contracts, didn't make it and stayed in Europe due to WW1.
@stevekay54862 жыл бұрын
I had one with columbian markings in the uk in the 80's in 7.62
