I'm the only one in my family who desires to speak Russian. They all say it's too hard, but your videos help a lot! Thank you Fedor!

Awesome choice dude! Thankfully, your family is incorrect about this, you can definitely get to conversational fluency by yourself using KZfaq, books, and language learning apps.

Also find an e-pal or a friend with whom you can practice. It helps a ton!

Вы = Plural/Formal "You" Вы as a prefix is used to denote exit So выход = exit. Выходные дни = weekend :) I suppose you can translate it literally to be "the exiting days" if you wanted to

@@anonymousentertainment9823 вы неправильно говорите в плане падежа, а ваше мнение относительно предлога спорное и личное, и уж точно неуместно как совет для любого, кто собирается в эту страну

@@jolevangelista я все правильно говорю. От местоположения русский язык не меняется. На русском языке правильно употреблять предлог "на". Это не личное мнение, это литературная норма.

Isn't it true that when you don't speak the language every day,you lose it ?
@christspatriot2 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen a cool thing that an average school student study’s the language around 400 hrs and the expert talking said he was studying around 2000 hrs. He said if you lose it, did you really ever have it solid. The person also said he can drop a language for years and starting again was like riding a bike…. just takes a little practice to get back to talking.
@elgatorado49072 жыл бұрын
@@christspatriot I'm not sure I like the argument that you never have it if you lose it because many immigrants who don't have the opportunity to speak their native tongue can actually being losing it after enough time speaking only a foreign language. But I get the idea of what he means at least

If you haven't solified the knowledge, then yes. For example, today I learned some new words and a new rule. But when you say "learnt", it doesn't mean that it sticks to your head perfectly. You learnt it, let's say, at 10%. Then, when you use it more and more times, you listen to it more and more times, you recall it in different occasions, then you gradually learn it more. From 10% to 30%, from 30% to 50%. And so on. As you revisit the concept, the new word, in different times, you solidify the word. Then, when it sticks perfectly in your head, it will be very hard to lose it, even after years. For example, the word "спасибо" you have it solidified into your mind because you see it constantly around, and your mind digested it perfectly, and even in 30 years you will remember it. But other words that for example you saw only today, you will forget even in few days, or even tomorrow if you do not revisit often and practice.
