A White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie that's creamy, buttery, chunky, and delicious? This is how I would describe this cookie recipe. Fresh out of the oven you would smell the sweetness of the white chocolate, and the nuttiness of the macadamia. Such a wonderful combination!
White chocolate was introduced by Nestle in 1930. It is made from cocoa butter, milk solids, sugar, and lecithin. It does not contain any cocoa solids found in different types of chocolate. As with other chocolates, it's best to store in a dry, cool area. Placing it in the fridge or freezer may cause it to bloom (white streaks you'll find in your chocolate).
Macadamia nuts are native to Australia, and you can find them in different places such as Hawaii, Brazil, Costa Rica and New Zealand. Macadamia nuts are rich in vitamins and minerals, which makes them an awesome snack!
In this recipe, I tweaked my chocolate chip cookie recipe by changing the amount of the sugar and chocolate chips. This resulted in a delicious cookie with a hint of caramel/butterscotch flavor to it. Talk about yum!! The high fat from the butter and egg yolks make this cookie so flavorful and rich, you're going to want more than just 1 cookie.
White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies
🥐4 cups King Arthur Bread Flour
🥖2 tsp baking soda
🍞1 tsp baking powder
🧂1 tsp salt
🧈2 cups unsalted butter, room temperature
❄1 1/2 cups granulated white sugar
🍬1 1/2 cups dark brown sugar
🍦1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
🥚2 whole large eggs
🐣4 egg yolks
🌰2 cups macadamia nuts, toasted and chopped
🍫4 cups white chocolate chips
