They were basques (eu-skara) in my opinion. I think high portion of spanish, portuguese, italian, french, irish, scottish, english people are tyrrhenian and vasconic (basque, etruscan related) people. They were not speaking germanic nor grecoroman, much different tyrrhenian-vasconic (agglutinative dene-caucasian) languages, but laterly they have invented west germanic, latin languages after intermixing with older european cultures tousands of years before according to eurasiatic language theory + some genetic studies. (Actually my comment accordingly to be honest)

What I find odd is that people would choose that site to live, in what was in fact the end of an ice age. Now we know it was warmer south. But did they? I’d bet they did. So they chose that site above others. Maybe they had rude neighbors farther south. Or maybe the natural resources there made it attractive. Floyd should get a nod for pointing about the obvious. What did they roof those rooms with? And what did they eat? Farming seems a stretch. The growing season them and now is brief and cool. Still a lot of questions to answer on this and similar sites. Patreons! Laura has the chat site up. Not a Patreon? Slip her a couple bucks and join. Let’s use the chat site. Great place to chew the fat on topics like this. Fox out

Etruscans or the most of them have migrated to Italy from the kingdom of Lydia in Western Turkiye. The people of Lydia were not Greek. Some Lydians roots depand on Kut/Subar/Turukku people in Eastern Turkiye and Western Iran. They were prototurks. According to the Urmu Theory, Turks have spread all over the world from the area around the lake Urmu in the middle east. Many of them have gone to Sybiria and Central Asia, some of them have been living in the Iran and Turkiye, and some of them have gone to the west. Etruscans' origin come from the prototurks who have prefered to go to the west or Etruscans' origin come from the mixing of differant Turkic tribes who migrated from the south (from Anatolia of Turkiye by ships) and the north (from Sybiria and Eastern Europe which are two of the mother lands of Turks by horses). Greek historians Heradot claims that Etruscans and The people who migrated from Lydia kingdom in Anatolia have the same race and culture. On the other hand, the culture of kurgan (timulus) refer to especially ancient Turks all over the world such that the Etruscans have kurgans. Etruscans' alphabet is simmilar to Göktürk alphabet of Turks. Their wolf Rasenna is corresponding to Turks' Asena which is a female wolf. Wolf is still a symbol of nationalist Turks of Turkiye and other Turkic republics such as Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakistan, Uzbekistan at present. Some othonomial turkic republics of Moldova and Russia federation still use wolf as a symbol in their flags. Also, it is sure that etruscans' language is not classified in indo-european language family just as Turkish language and other turkic languages are not. One more point, the words "etrusk" and "turk" are fonetically simmilar to eachother. Finally, Etruscans and Turks most probably have same roots.

hey there, Laura! i've heard of this concept but, don't recall the skeoumorph term....kind of a weird word😮 leave it to scientists😅 an interesting concept that was used by most, if not all, ancient cultures. the papyrus-shaped columns of Egypt being a prime example. i never made the connection with pottery designs, tho.....thanks for the info....makes perfect sense👍

How does “astronomers see the sky as a dome” have any bearing whatsoever on how Egyptians saw the night sky. A ridiculous proposition.

I follow all your vids, but since I'm over 70 I haven't got much time left. Can you PLEASE, at some time in the near future, collate all info relating to the deciphering of Linear A. Our best hope of doing so, Michael Ventris, died too young. What progress has since been made? Is there the prospect of a decipherment while I'm able to appreciate it?

A mile high ice sheet pushing along for half a million years. Salisbury Plain itself - the result of glacial action. Ever since I first visited it 25 years ago I have believed the stones were erratics dumped as the result of glacial activity. The human effort explanation always sounded so implausible me. The question for me was always why would they go to the enormous effort to quarry and transport them from Wales? The effort far outweighs the benefit even from a religious perspective.

However the massive stones got there, it does seem to me that if they could hoist those huge crossbars, they could have moved them a couple hunred miles across country. Rivers & streams that no longer exist? Ice & snow in the winter? End-over-end? "walking" like the Easter Islan Moas? It would be great to know, but a part of me hopes it remains a mystery!

That site in France is likely about 2,000 years after the Steppe people rode into Northeastern Europe. Part of why genetic researchers think they initially eliminated all the local males is because of a seeming complete absence in the region of the male genetic markers of the first Homo Sapiens hunter gathers and the male farmers from Anatolia. They were not aware of link between the first two until they did DNA testing on male skeletal remains that predate that invasion.

Iv heard of ancient societies with women out numbering men with a ridiculous percentage like 15/1 then the women gang up like wicked witches and these men must not just be sex slavers but also tortured by these women through life. Really enjoyed this story especially with a clean and clear explanation cheers 😎
