Going on three years with my small flock (8) of Cream Leg bar hens. They are laying very well! The eggs are of medium size. I estimate a lay rate, last year of about 220/240 per year per hen. I give a lot of eggs away. They do seem to drink more water then other breeds I have had. I don't know why. They are still standoffish a bit. None have attempted to hatch an egg. That is they are not broody. They have done well in the warm weather, but they have good shade.

All species look different as they age. For reds, the longer tail fluff when younger means you have a female if you're sexing before a month old.

Hello, I would like to build a bowl aquarium ecosystem (so, no filter, the bowl is big but not that big) and I was wondering if triops need a lot of swimming space and if they do well in room temperature water (around 13 - 20 Celsius I assume) and supposedly heavily planted environment to keep the water stable. Thanks!
@Stachli2 ай бұрын
Hey! Sure, that should basically work. But remember that Triops need sand to dig - so please don't completely cover the bottom with plants.

horrible info , distilled water will kill your triops in about a month, use natural spring water, these things live off rain water

Thanks. For me this is very informative. My sweet seven Serama are just 17 days old today. I love them endlessly. 🙂 💕 ☀️ Chickens are already hatching as masters. They are more intelligent and independent than almost any other living creature on its first day. Chickens can see really well from day one, they can clean themselves, they recognize "enemies" like cats and run away from them, they can eat and communicate with each other immediately. They are really extremely “adult” from day one. Mine fascinate me every day. 🥰

Hey, im just about to start this and i have 3 questions 😊 1. If they do not hatch, can i dry them out and try again? 2. Does the water need to be a distilled, spring mix? Is just spring ok? 3. If they hatch and lay eggs, how do i make them hatch?
@Stachli7 ай бұрын
Heyy 😊 1. Yes, you can. But if they don't hatch because there are simply no good eggs, they won't hatch the second time either. 2. The distilled water is for making the water more soft, because they wont hatch in hard water. If your spring water is soft enough you can use it alone, but thats very unlikely. 3. You wait until they all have died (They wont live longer than 4 months), then you remove the water and dry the sand. Then you can start all over again.
