Nice jig! Thanks Tommy. One added tip. If you use 1/2” plywood or MDF for your jig and drill a centre hole in the jig to accept a router guide bushing of 1/2”, 5/8” or 3/4”, you can then use the corresponding router guide bushing mounted on your router. Example: 3/4” guide bushing in combination with a 1/4” up spiral straight router bit. With this method your router will be able to turn as you rotate around the circle and your electrical cord doesn’t twist as you go around. For the Makita routers you will need an adapter plate to accept Porter cable style 1 3/16” OD guide bushings. You would probably be buying metric sized bushings and router bits but I think that the principle would remain the same. John Jensen from British Columbia.

Hey Tommy, Really Appreciated Your videos on Workbee. I have just finished surfacing your spoilboard and running the grid looking forward to my first real-world project today. Great Design. One thing to note in the video is that the two end clamps do not need to be T pieces. I machined mine up before realizing. Anyway, keep up the great videos, look forward to more CNC content

Thank you very much, I'm glad you found my videos helpful. Just a note the end pieces are not T pieces they only have one side machined but will still do the same job with both sides machined 🙂

Thank you, thank you, thank you for showing us WHAT you made and WHY you made it! So many videos start off, often without a spoken word, showing us HOW to make something. They think you're going to sit through a whole video of them making something you're not even sure you want to build. Crazy. I have to skip to the end to see if I want to build what they're building. This was a pleasure to watch because I knew in the first minute that I wanted to make my own blast gates just the way you did it. Keep up the good work, and make all your videos this same way, telling us the what & why before telling us the how.

Legend!, first step of the build and you made it easy for me! I slightly modified the idea by drilling into a piece of wood with a 5mm drill bit, then releasing it from the drill and used that to construct the bearings, I also used a slightly larger piece of wood for the 6mm hole to push down to assemble the wheel, I only did this because it was what I had, it worked brilliantly! thankyou!

Thanks for this Tommy, your video is exactly what I was looking for. I'm making a teak box for a very old sharpening stone that belonged to my father. The stone itself is just 12mm so I'll be taking 6mm from each part of the box. I've never routered hardwood so I'm a bit wary and not sure at what speed to run the router. But the bit I'm using is brand new and I've made a jig to contain the router on all sides so I'm ready to roll. Thanks again. Wish me luck!

Did you use a 1/4" (6.35mm) rebate cutter? I cant find a metric equivalent. Stumbled across this video. This is absolute genius because of the rebate which stops the panel falling through or needing hinges. Thank you for taking time to share this

@@JBSeymour I honestly can't remember where I got it iv had it for years. If you can get a set of router bit bearings you should be able to create the desired rebate even with an imperial bit. You should be able get bearing sets on amazon
