Bioware was already cooked by 2014, ME3 ending debacle was a shitshow to witness how much they straight up lied to their players, by 2017 with ME:Andromeda this take already aged divinely. Same goes for Bethesda, not that Skyrim was hugely criticized back in 2011 but many of Todd's little lies made Bethesda a studio you couldn't invest that much hype by 2014, and once again Fallout 76 in 2018 was the nail in the coffin confirming modern Bethesda is an absolute fraud of a studio of which you cannot say they aren't on par with EA in pure greed. But holy fucking shit Blizzard, it's not that this aged perfectly, it was a fucking premonition at this point. Blizzard lost a lot of its reverance after the Diablo3 market controversy in 2013 but was still gathering a lot of their old and new players respect with Hearthstone, Overwatch and Wow Legion which was acclaimed by its playerbase. After 2017 though, that is insane how EVERY YEAR they managed to up themselves as the single worst game studio of the past decade; HOTS esport shutdown, Overwatch league's catastrophe, Blitzchung HK incident, Blizzcon Diablo Immortal, Warcraft 3 reforged until the absolute pinnacle of the 2021 sexual harassment scandal. Ironically, Blizzard was the least despiteful studio out of the 3B when that podcast was recorded, now Blizzard is the worst out of the three and by such WIDEEEE margin it's hilarious, arguably even the worst gaming studio right now with EA.

Man, reading some of these comments years later is driving me crazy. So many people coming to bat for people playing a massively gimped version of a job and ultimately getting carried. I don't mean to diss Billy/Minh, but playing lancer there's only so much you can do when your entire repertoire is basically just your filler 1-2-3 combo, or another 1-2-3 that shares the same 1st attack. Maybe the ability distribution between class and job was different in 2.0, but I doubt it. I get the feeling that the people defending it are either people who never played XIV and don't understand just how gimped a class is vs a job, or they're actually the exact kind of person Pat's complaining about here and are (deservedly) feeling called out.

Honesty glad they mentioned it at all, I watched it and ended up actually enjoying it. It actualy focused on the MMO stuff that SAO doesn't really focus on Glad theres no permadeath, instead they lose memories every time they die And glasses will slip even if theyre not busted. Its definitely an easy habit to pick up. They're also pretty self aware about how Shirou does it way too much
