@@streetwiseguitar5113 I get what you say. But i was expecting a professional recording with a camera used for hollywood movies as movies in 1988 had very acceptable resolution.. Surely the company promoting these artists could afford the bill
@mancuniancandidatem19 күн бұрын
@@verifiedtoxicangel2411I think Allan was mostly promoting himself. Besides jazz festivals , they were mostly playing small clubs. TV cameras and film crew back in the day would have cost a fortune. I don't think he had any record labels that were throwing money at him for promotion.

i'm apparently REALLY late to this party....but if yall'r still around.......I really wanna try "extremely light" strings on my acoustic/electric...i'm totally thinkin "8's", but can't seem to find any acoustic-variants....Im thinking : "what if i just put on some electric 8's on my acoustic electric?" ...i'll be plugged in regardless ...will the 'acoustics' really matter at this point? Side-note: i play with a .50 mm pick regardless of string density....i just want it to feel like my fingers are coated in butter swirling through a cloud!.....whatdyallthink?
@streetwiseguitar5113Ай бұрын
if you go that light for an acoustic guitar I would say that the best thing to do is to have high hopes and very very low expectations lol! You do use a very light guitar pic so at least you have that kind of working in your favor but I wouldn't expect anything out of strings that are that light for acoustic. I think it would be very dissatisfied with the tone... Having said that you should absolutely try it just so you can see if that's your thing or not!

@@streetwiseguitar5113 , thanks for the reply! ...I do believe i'm just gonna give it a shot! I may actually start a youtube channel just to share my experience as well. I DO, in fact, have very high hopes that i might just get the 'playability' that i'm after, but soundwise...most-likely (definitely for surely) a NO...but that is where i'm hoping that technology such as EQ's, Preamps, Loudenizers, and various processing FX could potentially make a great difference. I indeed have high hopes this will work....but i also think i may have to file my frets down to almost nothing..Regardless, here's to hoping! Thanks for your input!
@imsohygh15 күн бұрын
@@streetwiseguitar5113 so i didn't go and start a KZfaq channel in regards to this (...But i SHOULD'vE!)..Here are my results: I have a 'cheap-Walmart acoustic/electric guitar' i purchased online for under $120 (Ashthorpe is the brand). The Guitar itself is a beautiful tobacco burst, played great straight out of the box! . Today i executed my experiment......i put some 0.08's on it!.....I'm certainly no guitar luthier, but i did file down the fret edges ....the strings i used were Ernie Ball Steel Extra Slinky, & as previously mentioned, i play with a 0.05 mm pick regardless,...i havent even plugged it in yet, but the acoustic sound is legit, the same, , and the playing is just WOW!......Thanks for your vids, they inspired this.

Calling Matteo a fusion guitar player is seeing him in such a limited way, and doesn’t give him the tremendous credit and respect he deserves. Sure, he plays that style, but he is also a phenomenal blues, jazz, and rock guitarist when he chooses to be, and I’m sure could be extremely proficient at classical, manouche, country, and any other style he chooses to play. He is simply the greatest, most versatile guitarist I have ever heard, and I hope he continues to explore and record all styles in his unique way. The one thing I don’t like about him is that as a guitar player myself, he makes me feel like I’m wasting my time. 😅
