Excellent Conor! Thanks. I just realised that I knrw IKIGAI already. Jim Collins' book Good to Great has almost the same concept: What you can be the best in the world at, What you are deeply passionate about, and What drives your economic engine. Maybe Collins got the inspiration from IKIGAI 😉 to his Hedgehog Concept. I just wrote about standing on the shoulders of my father on LinkedIn the other day. Now I can write about why my sister and I are not doing the same although we stand on the shoulders of the same father AND I am a bot more aware of how to lead different people differently. Thanks ❤

But Connor, I may be arguing with you because besides being in life what qualities we have, we often imitate or try to follow our role models? Is that anything bad and should it be avoided???
@ConorNeill5 сағат бұрын
you have to test out some things, and ways of being, in order to discover what you like, what you are good at... so there is a need for some copying and practicing early on in your career

One should ask: Why did I win? Why did I lose? Did I win because I was so good (training, commitment, knowledge) or I did win because the situation/competitor did not require much effort to overcome.

i guess its more than 10000 hours , its your whole life , its how you really are , when you fell happy in a certain field time stops and you feel free , then the start in you heart start to bright . Main difference its just few people really find what they are really good at when childs ,some find late and some never find it . "When you find your passion , discipline is the least important thing" .

I agree with everything but honestly leo messi was a natural. He didn’t need to practice he was born with that gift no amount of practice will get you to the level of Messi. Im not saying he doesn’t need to practice to stay in shape.

Another video filled with good advice. One thing though, Conor. You're so often referring to athletes and their goals. It need be remembered that most sports professionals dream of being great when their kids, manage a few years, say 20 to 30...maybe 35 if they'really good...and have another 50 years ahead of them after that. Important years, Conor! Maybe something to bear in mind in future videos. Oh, and I speak from experience, I turned 88 this month.
@ConorNeill20 күн бұрын
Good point! There is a whole section of life after the pro athlete has stopped being a pro athlete that still needs to be lived. Freud said that "all neurosis is the result of avoidance of necessary pain" - these disciplines of facing what is necessary and doing it now are not just for pro athletes - but the metaphors stick ;-)

In short: 1. Begin by engaging the audience with a relevant question, framing a problem they face. 2. Alternatively, startle them with a surprising factoid. 3. Finally, captivate them with a compelling story that connects to the topic and its significance.

Thanks! Practical tip: change from Evernote to Obsidian and link your notes within Obsidian, this way you’ll get even more out from your ”Second Brain”, your personal notes.

I've heard from a few people that there are "better" note taking apps than evernote... I'll do some exploring this summer. I have thousands of pages of notes in evernote and it could be interesting to get some AI help in finding the gold in there!
@gavada859621 күн бұрын
@@ConorNeill Yes, I also migrated from Evernote to Obsidian, also some PKM (Personal Knowledge Management) gurus like Thiago Forte and Nick Milo have done that also. Highly recommended. Obsidian is free for personal use. Also, if you like to draw diagrams, Obsidian integrates with Excalidraw diagramming tool, more details from the @VisualPKM channel in KZfaq.
