It’s a good looking bronco except for it. It’s got the sundowner stripes at the S-10 used to have back in the 80s.

Still looks great. Though it’s been parked outside that entire time, due to space constraints in the garage right now. I think I’ll do it again and put a little heavier coat on, let it sit longer before wiping it dry and see if the shine holds a little longer.
@serenityseeker2396 күн бұрын
Should have used VGG Shine Juice instead of clear coat
@Xthreadgarage4 күн бұрын
We ended up clear coating it with Summit Hot Rod Satin. We know VGG just licensed his name to Poppy’s Patina, but at this point we wouldn’t trust any of their products. We have however had very good success using Sweet Patina Sauce on the 47 Chevy.

I looked it up later and I believe you’re right, though the name makes more sense for a 1/2 ton with a bed instead of a dump box.
Thanks for the feedback Gary. It’s always a challenge to boil down 3-4 hours of raw footage to 30-50 minutes and make it engaging, entertaining, and watchable. We’re not a “how-to” channel, so we do limit footage of just turning a wrench and prefer the banter between me and K8lynn alongside of the humor and curiosity of figuring it out as we work through a project. Still, your perspective is valuable to us and we’ll take it under consideration for future episodes. Would more detailed “how-to” videos be more engaging for you?

28:21 Inflating is the most dangerous time and part about these two piece rims. If the ring is not locked in properly is when the ring usually comes flying off maming or unaliving the person airing up the tire . The ring on this rim is not locked in properly The tire needs to be taken off the truck and deflated to lock the ring back in , The split on the ring should "Always" be positioned opposite of the valve stem . After changing the tires on these rims I always aired them up remotely in a cage .

That’s 131,000 miles. With the hole in the seat and all that rust.
@Xthreadgarage14 күн бұрын
It’s sat on Kelly’s Island, Lake Erie for 50 years. That explains the rust. The pedals are not worn out, at all. Never seen a truck over 100k with like new clutch pedal. The truck moved dirt and mulch each summer, hundreds of slides in and out of the seat each week, while only driving a few miles each summer.

Those 300ci motors inline 6 cyl. Are one of the toughest motors i have ever worked with. Not very powerful and does not have a lot of torque but that motor is like a timex watch. It takes a lickin and keeps on tickin!

DOESNT a hard start after its warm generally mean TIMING is out, i think too advanced?
@Xthreadgarage18 күн бұрын
We did walk down that road, but the issue ended up being bad remanned starters. Been running great for months now. No starter issues.
@WilliamMunny-d8s18 күн бұрын
did you try banging on the starter? i just had to do that this winter on stepdad 2013 chevy truck in minus 25 c weather but it worked
@Xthreadgarage18 күн бұрын
Banging on it wouldn’t have fixed this issue. Starter was bad and replaced in a later video.

I have the exact same results when applying this to my '68 suburban yesterday. After 24 hours I have done some test spots with a second coat in the hopes that it will take care of most of the streaking and I won't have to sand it all down. I will find out in the morning with the results are. Fingers crossed
@Xthreadgarage19 күн бұрын
Man, that stinks. I’m increasingly convinced they’re headed towards some sort of class action suit for false advertising. There are a lot, and I mean a lot, of guys with the same results as we had.
@brandonmason891419 күн бұрын
Here's a little update since last night. I went ahead and put on a second coat and it is noticeably better. It still isn't perfect and I may put a third or fourth coat on, but it is definitely better than the first coat. I didn't sand between coats, I just reapplied after 24 hours. I'll let you know how it ends up
