Haha thank you! My husbands tenant moved out, we had placed new dryer and washer since the beginning of the tenants stay and now that he’s out and we are inspecting everything after tenant left we came to be surprised with lots of tar/asphalt residue in the dryer! Going to try this out and see if we can bring back the dryer to looking brand new again.

@handylandlord5 күн бұрын
Sometimes they are hidden. Most of the time they are mounted on front of blower motor housing. Look for 2 brown wires coming off of motor. Not always the issue but cheapest part to test before replacing motor.

Good Lord!! I just came across this video and OMG! Who could live this way and leave it in this condition. We grew up poor as well but the house was spotless as my mom always said that poor doesn't mean dirty and ghetto. This is repulsive but you did a great job cleaning it up and fixing it for the next tenant who I hope is a better one. Great job Handy Landlord, keep up the great work. Thumbs up even though this video is two years old. =)))

Ooo man. It’s probably hung up on some roots. It’s tough. Assuming u have tried to spin in backwards and pulling at the same time. I was able to hook my end of the cable to a basement beam and retrieve my cable. If u lost the end of the cable down in the drain, will probably need to camera the line. They make cable retriever heads for drain machines. Sorry not sure how helpful this is.

Today, I had to replace a leaky sink drain thats probably over 40 years old. It's corroded beyond recognition. I worked on it for a solid hour and a half. Got my arms hands and knuckles banged up every where trying to separate the drain from the sink. This video was a godsend. Thank you. It took me less than 2 minutes to drill that piece out and the drain had no chance.

Heads up ... some cities require a permit to remove tree roots. Possibly an arborist may need to determine doing so will not harm the tree. Going through this at my home. The joy of home ownership !
@handylandlord13 күн бұрын
Man the city is a pain. In my situation the city gave me a violation on the sidewalk because my tree lifted. I had the whole tree cut down in front yard then removed the tree roots under the sidewalk. I have another house the sidewalk has been lifted by city tree. They are going to fix the sidewalk when they have funding. Own the place 9 years sidewalk looks the same. Probably have 10 plus repair request. Haha 😆 Good luck on your project!

Very very curious as to why you didn’t just get a single bag of levelling concrete and pour it over. I’m so confused. When I was watching I felt like you had a special bond with the original concrete, maybe gave it a name like ugly duck…. Just having so much faith that it could be beautiful one day. I admired your determination and work ethic… but you would have saved a LOT of time if you skipped the tender loving care, all that prep…and just dumped a bucket of coloured concrete over it.

Dayum! That was an ass-load of work! You amaze me with what you can and will do. I can understand hair weave getting in the line, but gravel? How? The hole was on the bottom. So glad to see you did not dig outside by hand. Seems like you didn't charge enough for labor with all of that digging and hassle from the tenants. But that's just me.
@handylandlord16 күн бұрын
Yes a lot of work. The hair is actually roots that grow into the joints of the clay tiles. The gravel got in from the pipe that caved in that the previous plumber repaired. The original hole was on the drop just below the toilet sweep into stack. They actually took copper pipe below the slab. The reason I dug up the pipe was because the pipe was all slopped back towards the house because the pipe had settled / dropped. I probably didn’t charge enough, but I try to be reasonable with my repairs I do not have debt and very little overhead for my handyman biz.
