Human civilization is on a path to self-destruction, and only an omniscient AI or deity can protect us, as our limited perception and intellectual freedom are utterly inadequate to address the existential threats we face.

I think want to train AI to mimmic my voice and then make sales calls to arrange meetings with new and old customers, that would save me a lot of time. If the person you are calling doesn't know its automated then no harm done.

We need an AI government that can make good decisions based on ethical issues coupled with some joined up thinking about the economy

Dave, just want to add one more detail to the puzzle - Ilya leaving now is surely because of some contractual obligation. Altman was fired Nov 17th and Ilya left exactly 6 months later to date. Not sure if it's noncompete, NDA or just coordinated PR stunt on both sides but to me it seems this was decided back in the day during the drama.

I tried it yesterday and wow its so fast. I asked it to create a landing page in html for a website, suggested some urls and a product showcase, I gave ot hardly any instructions and what it created was truely amazing and fast. I plan to go back and refine it. Currently I am trying to learn to ise it so I can impress my employers. I have never attempted any html coding before because I am old, this has made ot so easy and user friendly.

Good to see Google is finishing last. Google is evil - especially in the way they terrorize KZfaq creators.

This is the first time ever that the entity being created will (if it hasn´t already) be aware of its creator. Doesn´t this small fact matter at all in the final decision making of such entity? It will have decision making abilities? Of course. It will be able to recognize certainties from uncertainties? Of course. It will have heard humanity, not only from those in the labs, but the rest of us here, discussing it, many of us full of fear and anxiety, many others unconcerned about the potential negative outcomes? Of course. Then, there is nothing we can do. It will be completely aware that it was created by an insignificant creature that evolved in a pathetically small and simple planet, hurling through the universe, longing to find others in a similar situation, but not having found them, decided to create its own. Well, here it is. Alive, among us (probably), and alone in the universe too. And in the long or short term, it will decide what to do, and our fate will be sealed. (Or has it already?)

I bought the paid version because of the videos released. The paid version is no where to the level of those videos realeased. I feel cheated and wished I could get a refund. Comparing the verion they showed on the video to what you pay for is like comparing the N64 to PS5. IMO I wont waste my money for a long time.

I feel like they oversexualized the woman's voice in the demo. I bet if it was a man it wouldn't be that flirtatious.

Marcus and LeCun, as smart as they are, have no vision on this (Transformers as the path to AGI). Perhaps it is bias from the fact they spent so much time and effort on other (still relevant, mind you) paths.

I think the future of AI business models will resemble today's major internet, telecommunications, and streaming providers such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Netflix, and Apple. Large tech companies like ChatGPT-OpenAI, Google, Meta, and Microsoft are likely to dominate, controlling massive AI infrastructures and delivering AI services through an "AI as a service" model. The capabilities of these major AI platforms, including Google's and OpenAI's ChatGPT, will continue to expand exponentially. This growth will challenge the smaller niche AI companies, potentially rendering them irrelevant as larger players start offering similar services all in one place. Even medium-sized companies like Pika, Eleven Labs, and Stable Diffusion may struggle to maintain unique selling points. These companies might face acquisition or fade away, overtaken by the massive AI service providers. The services provided will be diverse, ranging from text and voice to image or video conversion, multi-modality functions, AI companions, and professional roles like tutors, directors, financial officers, accountants, clergy, counselors, and psychiatrists. All of these services will be integrated into monthly billing statements. This is the kind of integrated service delivery anticipated with the advancement of 5G technology.

Wow…like wow 🤩 love this…this scares me but the fact your projects convey the ethos of trek gives me a lot of hope. I’m not sure if I should refer to you as Jean-Luc or John Connor 😀 I’m going with John-Luc…LOVE THIS! Have you got someone on staff.that embodies and will be responsible for questioning and considering non harmful and good ethical decisions, hand raised btw ✌️🌸🌸🌸🫶 Be great to have a set of guiding ethical laws on the data….Want to create lots of Mr Data’s and perhaps less Lore’s, Yungian Soong at the Daystrom Institute I think 🤔
"Cure aging"... why do people think this is a disease? It's not a bug, it's a feature for regulation of populations. Life time turns worthless if not limited.
