Great explanation. I just wanted to know the pan temperature- I believe it should not be too hot as the batter will not be spreadable as it will adhere right away. And how long after putting the batter in should the spreading process begin.

I think the ketchup is actually a good substitute for chili paste or the like. Nice. Oh, and that background music really turns up the excitement of making fried rice. Makes you wanna do some ecstasy! Although, I've never been hungry after indulging in such substances. Maybe tone it down to something mellow come to think of it. Maybe some classical or baroque tunes, or heck, maybe even some stuff from the Beatles Anthology 3 or the White Album. Even some Modest Mouse would do. This rave/dance stuff is actually an appetite killer now that I think about it.

Nice walk through. Other ones i have seen always use a 4:1 ratio of rice to dal but doesnt feel like there is enough dal. I still havnt mastered this i need a better grinder. A blender isnt working
