Discussing a possible concerning future with NFTs and Gaming

This one is a bit of a one off but watching so many NFT and Gaming related videos I wanted to give my own thoughts on it. If anything to better educate myself as I am no expert, just my gut telling me where it feels things could and will go. Right now I know my channel is very heavy in Star Citizen and it's a game I do enjoy but I am a gamer...PERIOD. I enjoy loads of them when I have the time. What are your opinions regarding NFTs coming to gaming in the future??

Always nice to watch one of your videos. My knowledge about NFT's, blockchain etc. is still very limited, but I never really believed the argument saying" you own it". Like, how can you really own something in a game for which you technically only own the license to be able to access it.

I think we're screwed. Microsoft will find some way to enforce everyone using their OS to be part of some NFT shit just to play someone else's shit on my system. That's where I see this shit going.

It feels ignorant of these gaming companies to try and create an entire economic system they then connect to casual games and expect everything to just go okay. Think we'll see this pop up in mobile games a lot first right? Would be the safest way to test the market? (I mean people already spend thousands of dollars on gacha games anyway) But so far there has been no mention of NFTs from CIG right?

Correct, I originally wanted to make this about if SC would ever use them but as I was making this I saw Morphologis made one and said what I would have said, so I then pivoted to cover general gaming and it’s overall affects. SC I do not see them doing NFTs as the current funding model works. If it stops then maybe but I doubt it. I think some equity in CIG will be sold first.
