In this episode I install the control wires in my new handle bars from TAB Performance (starts at 6:24). I also demonstrate why extended wires are required for this install (start at 2:41). Finally, I discuss the parts included in the Fat Baggers 12" Wire extension kit (starts at 2:17). I do not discuss the installation of the clutch cable extension (visit Fat Baggers website for an install video). At the end of the video, I show footage of the final install and video walk around of the bike with the new bars installed. I will be publishing additional videos featuring the full install and a comparison between TAB Performance Bars and Fat Baggers.

Thank you! I have watched countless diy handlebar wiring videos, and yours is by far the best - a regular guy showing other regular guys how to make it work. Gosh, you are good. Subscribed.

Thanks! How did the install go? I'm planning to upgrade the sound system on my SG. After installing the system on my RG, I can't listen to the SG radio....it sucks!

Fellow Navy vet here. Thanks for your service. I bought a set of 12" KST Mayhem Baggers for my 2020 Tri Glide. I was going to send them back to KST to have them do the wiring. You saved me over $200. I never would've thought about using Vaseline. It definitely made things a whole lot easier.

Heat shrink will also work instead of tape to hold them together

That would work too. Electrical tape is cheaper though

I’m adding KST meat hooks on m Indian Roadmaster, one side has three connectors, one larger, one medium and a small connector. I think two are bundled together (I’ll relook once home) do you usually fish them through one at a time if more than two? I thought about individually or staggering them together but to where the connectors are separated enough not to bind. I’ve done easier bars prior, but not these meathook bars. TIA OEM are off, going to try later today.
@RidingandWrenching

I fish them through one at a time. Be sure to apply a light coat of Vaseline to the lines...makes it much easier to slide them through. I believe Finesse the Challenger has made a few handlebar install videos for Indian. You may want to check them out too

He leaves out all the important details like the chain, then when he’s struggling he cuts the part he gets stuck to when he’s finished pulling it through. !
@RidingandWrenching
@RidingandWrenching Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what question you have about the chain, let me know and I can post a picture on Instagram. I found that nylon rope works better than the type used in the Factory 47 video. The key points that I hoped to make in the video: 1.5" diameter bars are much easier to pull wires through, using vaseline makes it even easier to pull the wires, 12" (and larger) bars require extensions/replacements of cables. I always edit videos to keep them as brief as possible, however illl try to answer any questions. I can't stress enough 1.5" bars make the job so much easier compared to 1.25" bars.
