Just moved to CRSF along with lots of others. If you’re a racer like Nytfury and interference was an issue, this may be the ticket. Great to see innovation. Zepto RX looks super cool for whoops ... come on TBS!!

I won't be switching. I just got Xfire because FrSky gave us all the finger. I reckon, just like with Xfire, if you have a Q X7 (etc...), you will need to do the 400k baud rate mod. to get the faster frame rate benefit of this new system as well. Plus will be transferring my R9 stuff to ExpressLRS. :-)

Already have all quads on ExpressLRS. I really love the feel in the sticks. They also have 2.4GHz running by the way, at 250+Hz. I guess the radio used is the same (Semtech SX128x)

Good point on the mod that likely be required. Time to ditch the QX7's, unfortunately. Great radio otherwise. Now if i could only learn how to tune!

@@uavtech Yeah, even from my end where I'm all-race, I haven't seen anything compelling enough anywhere to get me away from running D16 8Ch on properly sorted XM+ receivers. Once OpenTX has the XJT heartbeat issue fixed, that performance is excellent... I feel like a nontrivial amount of people bought CRSF just to get around that bugfix.

Even with the trade in program TBS has, the Ghost system was a cheaper option for me than the equivalent TBS setup. Very excited with what I've seen of this system so far.

@@JonE5FPV Well, I want a total of six RX along with the TX. The Ghost has a deal of 150 for a TX and three RX, then I added three more to the order for a total (shipped) of around 260. On the TBS website, I went to their trade in page and entered the R9 equipment I have (some is still brand new), then chose the equivalent in TBS parts to my Ghost order. Even with the trade in, TBS came in at around 310 for the TX and six RX.

Thanks for the video. I was seriously thinking of moving to TBS Crossfire but now I think I'll hold tight and see what happens. I want to see some actual flights from seasoned pilots as well as setting it up.

@Paul Patterson stay away from Trappys trash, if you don’t believe me go to his FB page on crossfire/problems and issues , you’ll note that a large percentage of people (not to mention myself) have had massive problems ..... One little tip most folks don’t know, 900 mhz was tossed by all the major Rc transmitter manufacturers almost 30 years ago, it is a flawed frequency for Rc as there are unexplained anomalies in the signal dropouts, Etc. Trust me bro it’s not worth a lost or destroyed platform.

At big events, pilots will strategically run Futaba FASSTer and Spektrum SRXL2 setups to get the same performance as CRSFShot without the jamming up of that narrow ISM band - it does make sense. Particularly for spread spectrum applications, more total available bandwidth is a good thing, despite losing a lot on first meter propagation and foliage penetration with the higher frequency.

@Jon E5 FPV Drones - that first meter propagation and foliage penetration are the RF reasons why long range peeps aren't going to take this too seriously - in pure LOS this can keep up, but it'll only be rare cases with low background floor where a 2.4GHz system can keep up. Also, ditto on the GPS being affected - there is some intermodal responses that affect the L1 GPS band slightly, but bandpass filters are part of the GPS hardware, and stuff still picks up sats just fine with a good GPS unit.

@@JonE5FPV Tony makes a solid point that with DSSS signals, more bandwidth available means you can get to (or slightly below) the nominal noise floor and actually recover full data signals (especially with forward error correction), so I do fully believe his 6km claimed range... I suspect it'll be a solid mid-range option that races particularly well, and probably be outright better than R9 for every application, just hard to break into a market where CRSF is established and most pilots already own a large chunk of the infrastructure needed to run it, especially when starter kit vs. starter kit Ghost is a more expensive setup.

I just did the R9 trade in with tbs and swapped 15 quads to crossfire. I'm so happy with it. No way I'd consider swapping. The trade in was 50% off all my receivers so can't complain about the price at all.

Smart info, man. Telemetry is not there yet... and these things are often very slow to come. I too have doubts about 2.4ghz and long range... but you know... let em prove us wrong. I’ll admit it if it works well. Anywaaaaaay... ... With all the Phantoms and ghosts n such... things are sure getting scary up in the air, though! We may only be flying at night. Lol ☠️💀👻👀 later.

It's about time! I Tried to convert to TBS, and got mad because of the big antennas and a bunch of tango 2 firmware issues. I prefer my x-lite and figure a higher frequency would have the potential for lower latency (i think?). either way, when i saw that picture of an x-lite module on immersionrc's site I instantly wanted it :D

Curious about it's supposed "long range" capability. been investigating 900mhz for a few months now and just so happened to have my goggle module fry on me from GA heat. So now with two candidates on my radar for intigration/functionality and "long range", I'll have to investigate a bit more and see where this thing goes... I knew I was bound to learn LOS one way or another.... I have a lot of trees to contend with where I daily fly, so penetration of BOTH video and radio signal is very important; and makes LOS an arduous task. Just hit the subscribe button man keep me up to date. Please sir

I recently got myself a Tango 2 after getting back into FPV after four years and I don't regret it. My guts tell me that TBS might come up with a backplate for the Tango 2 that contains a JR module bay and possibly room for two 18650 batteries . That would create a hell of a versatile package. In Cities with lots of WiFi even 350 milliwatts might not be enough when the quad is some distance away from the transmitter and is surrounded by loads of WiFi routers.

OMG! I was sooooo fortunate to be able to see them live when they reunited a couple years back. It was one of the sadness's of my life i never got to see them while they were originally got to see them when they were together. One of the best shows ive ever been to.

Really interesting. Integration with Orqa's is a cool idea and added benefit.. Still I really like my Tango 2 and was planning to trade in my old R9 gear for a full Crossfire TX. If Immersion RC offered a trade-in program I would get one plus the fpv.connect immediately! Excited to see what it's capable of/always like seeing innovation and competition.

This looks good. I've been to a UK event recently and had more luck with my r9 that some pilots on crossfire although I did also have arming issues. I'm keen to try this out asap

Long range at 2.4Ghz w/ only 350mW of power? Good luck. TBS first began long range using 2.4 Ghz but that was in the mountains of Switzerland with no RF interference. Would like to see a comparison. Someone wake up the RCShim...

I haven't invested in a long range module yet and was waiting to get crossfire, I think this should be compared to the full crossfire module because of the screen. If i can find this available i would like to try it as my first long range system.

@@yannickg6904 I did pick up a CRSF setup and 4 Rx's, and moved them all to 7" rigs... everything else is D16 on 8Ch, if you're not going beyond 300m you don't need anything else

@@tehllama42 I don't usually go very far, but in some spots I've had random failsafes at less than 300m, sometimes a tree is enough. I only have two builds with crossfire and just the V1 lite TX, but even that combo always feels solid compared to D16. It may be completely subjective at shorter distances, lol.

@@yannickg6904 Yeah, those are the most frustrating. I wound up moving to CRSF after a 50yd mid-powerloop failsafe that was just frustrating... if this can solve that, then awesome. To some extent, if TBS had CRSF starter kits in stock, this wouldn't be as immediately appealing, just because there's more potential range on offer there... but if IRC can make the integration seamless on these and have the cost come way down (per unit on the receivers), then I'd see a reason to migrate to this... for now I'm all to happy with an internal multiprotocol module and a CRSF Lite out the back.

@@JonE5FPV not where I’m from, Trappy the clown isn’t a very well liked individual with his cocky attitude and extremely immature product support. I went with CF a couple years ago and have had nothing but problems , the only reason I left EZ UHF is because of Rx size, I had never had problems with my EZ UHF prior to the switch and now that they have come out with the Ghost system I am more than happy to throw Trappys junk away. I thought it was hilarious the first time I heard his name IE “Trappy the clown” ! It’s absolutely perfect and fitting for such a jerkoff.

2.4 was good for anything above 50 feet you could fly farther than most care too. What crossfire really brought was telemetry and with DJI you need that gps telemetry for long range cause DJI don't have usable osd if you crash.

@@metoo3918 The Diversity used to be $60, and the normal Nano was $30 - they knocked 16% off the price of both (and brought them in line with R9 - basically killed off the FrSky option for anybody who owns neither).

Ruby S yeah, I ordered the tango 2 as soon as they announced the ribbon connector on the back of the pcb. I think we all know what that’s for. Just hope they do it soon. I have some quads that I want to fly but not bad enough to invest 25 bucks each for a new receiver. And a few of my whoops don’t accept external receivers

I'm using the r9 right now. and the difference in latency on paper looks night and day. I was thinking crossfire, but the difference in latency and how fast the ghost is. I'm thinking the ghost.

first they could not deliver as announced and now they increased the price while the delivered units also have arrived with issues all over the yt reviewers except one: Joshua Bardwell I miss the competition cause that what immersion RC had delivered is no competition and they followed their reputation in the past.

Ghost has a smaller module. Tango 2 can now take a lite module. but that's a bold statement for a system you've never seen in use....

Tbs is too cryptic these days to be honest and I think they are just bs-ing. If you had a strong weapon you'd use it me thinks. Having said that I've just switched to cf shot and loving it bout to get my second nano. Would loveeee to try put imersion rc new ghost i bought my first tramp vtx not too long ago and was truly blown away by it. Pteviously the best one ive ever used was an akk and this tramp blows it out the water even at its lowest power so im definitely excited fpr ghost but at $90 I'm going to have to wait. Glad for competition it's about time there was some rumble going on but I think tbs is just bs-ing their new micro tx had a 500mw chip but they won't say a word about it officially. ..why? Most everyone already knows.
