@@chriswheeler857 No. If you actually want to learn about space, I'd recommend a book from a known astrological Physicist. But, I'll give a shorter explanation, that you probably won't understand. Aight, so before the big bang, there was "nothing". This nothing is quite literally nothing, hell, it's less than nothing, considering what happens next. Once the big bang happened, all matter, along with a 2nd layer of space expanded at a pace either far faster, or at the speed of light (can't remember which rn). Might have it backwards, but the 1st layer, the non-big bang layer is called the "False Void", while the 2nd layer, the big bang layer, is called the "True Void". So, this "False Void" is likely the only infinite thing in all of reality (which really doesn't make much sense, considering infinity is only a concept, not a thing that can be in reality), while the "True Void", which is also the void you look at whenever you look up at night, is constantly expanding at an exponential rate, which will eventually reach FASTER than the speed of light. This means that in some tens of billions of years, when, this event occurs, we will no longer be able to see other galaxy clusters... further down the line, we will no longer be able to see our galaxy cluster, only our galaxy. Even further down the line, we will cease to even be able to see out galaxy, only a the stars that are rather close to us. At a certain point the Universe will expand so much, light will never touch, freezing the Universe. At this point, there is a possibility of the Big Crunch happening, in which the Universe will do the reverse of what I just said, rapidly closing in until it creates another singularity on par with the Big Bangs singularity. Soon after, or maybe immediately after, the Big Bang will happen again, repeating this cycle over and over for either infinity or some amount of time that humans would likely struggle to quantify.

TheGuardDuck well people do commonly like to say we know more about space then we do about the oceans, but that’s usually because those people are ignorant... just recently we discovered a new signal from space which we don’t really know what is... we think it’s a particle but we don’t know yet... that’s how foreign space is to us. Also there’s the whole fact that we have only ever observed things in our own galaxy clearly... and there’s a lot of galaxies... imagine if we had only explored the Indian Ocean and assumed based on that we knew a lot about the ocean... So yeah the common saying is the opposite but as with most common sayings, it’s based on ignorance.
