I do planche and front lever training 3 or 4 times a week, I start with planche, then front, I need to build my straight arm strenght so for planche especially I use straight arm dummbell raises, planche lean reps, planche lean holds, pseudo push ups and straddle or full planche holds with resistance bands, for front lever I use dragon flag for negatives, front lever raises with bands for concrentic phase and front lever holds with resistance bands for isometric. I tried many exercises and these do the job for me. After building basic for 1,5 year I learned how to feel specific muscle that needs to work, lots of tutorials, knowledge from diffrent sources, training these elements after solid base is so much easier then starting them from the beginning of our journey. So I recommend to slowly building strength because it is very long process. Anyway resistance bands for me are the key for these elements.

I quit training planche about a year ago after trying to get to tuck for over a year. I saw your "21 reasons video" and my APT was going against my training... it's something I struggled with my whole life and could never fix it. So I quit, I spent the next 7-9 months doing general bodybuilding with calisthenics and weights including legs + dynamic handstand progressions & conditioning with chest to wall or a box. I gained about 17 lbs in weight. When I saw you upload this video, out of curiosity I tried doing tuck planche yesterday but I ended up pulling off a straddle with knees bent! On the floor too! It felt so light and effortless. But I couldn't control the balance/form for long and held it for 2-3 seconds. This is something I was never close to. I think I might pursue planche again. I think it might be best to keep my current programming because traditional planche training has not worked for me at all.

Study alot of videos of different people their different lean angles depending on things like height arm and leg length its not the same for everyone because just because you see someone who starts with the hands real close to the belly dosent mean its the same for you some people needs to start a more open shoulder angle depending on arm leg length body proportions like myself i needs to start in a more open shoulder angle line before initiating the forward lean

thanks homie, this is a great video! for me personally, i'm just focusing on getting stronger. I've been at this for nearly 2 years now, just finishing mastering the handstand hold at 6'1 180lbs, and coming from literally zero and skinny fat. I can feel myself getting closer to the planche each time i practice the earlier progressions, but i just keep the core basics down and don't flood myself with too much practice on advanced things. The last thing i want is to break my wrist or something. The way i see it is this - if i'm going to be doing this for my whole life, i shouldn't rush. baby steps eh?
@TheJackedVegan

For you it'd be even more important to focus on the conditioning for the skill (wrists, tendons and shoulders) to ensure you've got a lower injury risk. But yeah right mentality man but at some point to get planche you'll need to train it directly but when you're ready is going to be the best time!

As mentioned in the video, I review and update programs of my channel members so check it out if you're in need of it. But I will say training planche thursday friday and saturday with no rest in between sounds like too much in short amount of time. You need more rest in between

Reps are so high for strenghtprogram brother do max 3 x 6 reps. And dont do long holds, do attemps that use rir 2-3 with high volume for ex 6-10 set of planche/straddle lean jumps/attempts. One day workout one day rest is the structure

I'm not sure if i should start to train planche or not. Right now im focusing on getting stronger in weighted pull ups and dips aswell as in other conpound movements such as bench press and shoulder press. I'm doing decent progress and am able to front lever for 5 sec, handstand consistently and do clean muscle ups
@TheJackedVegan

It just depends on what you want most right now, but if you know for sure you'll want full planche in the future, its best to start now, but its completely up to you to decide!

@@TheJackedVegan Most atheletes say that the stronger the base the quicker you learn skills. That's why I'm training weighted basics and at the same time grease the groove with some skills. But sure maybe i will start training the planche (statics skills are my main goals) just not sure how to implement them in my routine (I'm doing long sessions like 2:30 hours 3x a week)

When you say “high intensity” what do you mean exactly? I come from CrossFit background but have been doing a “bodyweight only” version for the past several years and am currently trying to lean heavily into true Calisthenics. I understand high intensity as keeping your heart rate up, etc but I’m assuming it’s meant differently here, right?

he means 90-100% max effort, like a high RPE. front lever, planche etc. will take this kind of effort (intensity)

What do you mean by deload ? Like, feel that your body have a hard time with the training, so you do easier variation for a week or 2 ?
@TheJackedVegan
@TheJackedVegan Жыл бұрын
Usually for about 5 days and then one workout to prime myself for normal training. And very very easy variations or exercise. The point is to prioritise recovery

@@TheJackedVegan Oh yeah, that's what i lack right, now. Sometime i really feel like my shoulder struggle, and i stop training that day by fear of overtraining. I should deload like you said, instead. Thanks for the advice.
