True story. I don’t think Jason will mind me sharing. In 2001 I was explaining exactly these to my mentor. Having been a top fuel drag pit crew since 1983 and maturing into a 25 year old mechanic in 1995 he knew things. I’m struggling to remember what the substitute was, but it made the puncture points hollowed because sometimes the points would plug the hole they made. Wranglestar, I’m with you. I had my hunting property vandalized four times in September and October in Gladwin County Michigan. They took my gator. Appliances. Tools. When I found the thief I was legitimately asked if I had the receipts for the appliances that were missing. I did. And I still had to get them back myself. Folks, if you’re a homeowner or property owner, it’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when. Locks keep honest people honest. After that, it’s up to you.

Hard to believe they actually sell that book on Amazon now, lol. Mind you, it's probably a heavily redacted version of it. No more than 10 years ago that book was still illegal, although I've had a digital copy of it ever since the 1980's. lol. The fully uncensored, possibly still illegal one, with how to make ricin and TNT etc at home. It straight up told you too, if you choose to make this you're stupid. lol. But they tried to supply you with every instruction, tip and warning they could, about not blowing yourself up or poisoning yourself. hehehe. It's an interesting read. And yeah, making TNT on your stovetop? Not the smartest idea and likely/hopefully, nobody ever attempted it and took the "you're stupid if you try this" warning, seriously. Seems amateurs settled on playing with tannerite instead anyway. It's fun, makes things go boom in a big way and is fairly safe to handle and you're far away when setting it off with a rifle. My uncle was an expert blaster and even he hated the volitility of dynamite/nirtroglycerin and he did it for a living. He was super careful and prevented many a mistake that could have ended in disaster.

A good way to make quick caltrops if you’re in a bind or intend them only for personnel. However if your intended target is vehicles you should really go with hollow steel tubing. Bend them using a blowtorch and weld the middles together. This way the caltrop will act as a vent for the tire’s air as opposed to a plug. Guaranteed flat in under 3 seconds. Act accordingly.

@@jasonatencio8017 caltrops are a weapon designed to hurt enemy feet. When properly made they are durable and the right size to potentially cause a twisted ankle if it doesn’t puncture the persons footwear, but if it does then that’s a world of pain. Perfect for slowing down someone chasing you. Or puncturing tires and allowing them to slowly go flat.
