Hating Co workers is an understatement when it comes to my old manager Egg.

The co-worker that dissappears for 20 to 30 mins happened at my job. He's the type that makes you amazed just how long they lasted until managment finally decided to can them. Also quite a bit of anger from some coworkers having to pick up the slack for weeks, pretty crazy.

the best things about these retail rants is they are timeless. i worked in retail in the 90's and early 2000's and i can still relate to your funny stories. i worked at compusa when that was a big deal, and the only reason i'll miss it some days is because I had no responsibility at that time, it was fun to have this crappy job and get drunk with people after work.

the ones I hated most were the ones who always asks trade days off all the time but can't be bothered to return the favor and it's even worse when they call you at wee hours of the morning asking you to cover their shift when you have stuff planned on your day off, a lack of planning on your end doesn't constitute an emergency on mine. and don't get me started on the mombies who think the world revolves around them and their schedule because they have kids and you don't.

At least you never had to deal with the Salty Co-Worker. At a previous job, a former co-worker got salty about me coming up with an idea to be used for a Comic Con booth and she subsequently tried to exclude me from communications out of spite.

It's no coincidence that you are having a much better experience in "the office" than retail. You are in a building where mainly everyone there are there because they want to be.

My gripe about coworkers when I was working at Gamestop... my whole staff called out once a week and it always kept me from ever making plans. Over 10 years and never got to complete a vacation. It was the price of being the dependable one.

A bad habit of mine is loving shit-talking and gossiping with my work friends about coworkers we hate. I guess it just makes the job a little more bearable.

Fanta, what was the nickname that you gave to Mr. HELLO THERE? His name is escaping me, but I knew exactly who you were talking about. Over a decade ago, I used to work at a movie rental store in Canada. At the time I was 24, and my boss had hired a kid who was 17-18 years old. That kid was absolutely useless, and did nothing to help me around the store. He studied the cameras so well that he was able to hide in blind spots. Infuriatingly, one of the blind spots was at the front counter where he sat and watched movies on his portable DVD player. After about a week of being unable to complete the cleanup duties because I was doing the jobs of two people, I was pulled into the office. I explained that slacker kid was doing nothing to help me. He brought in slacker kid, and he lied through his teeth about everything that happened. I was fired on the spot. The worst part of the situation was that I had been working at this store for over a month, and the kid was only there for maybe a week or so. I couldn't believe it. I was mad, but my partner at the time told me that eventually it will come out how much of a slacker he is. If I could go back and do it over again, I would have reported the kid each time for slacking off. Even at the age of 24, I hadn't yet developed a spine to stand up for myself and report people when it was necessary to do so. I did however, get some sweet revenge against my old boss however. At the time he fired me, he refused to provide me with my T4 (W2 in America). I provided my payslip at tax season, and Revenue Canada called me sometime later about the details regarding my boss's refusal to provide me with my tax form. I was more than happy to spill the beans. I didn't hear about what happened after that.

I have a fresh UTI grad next to my bay, kids 19 and just wants to sit and talk and talk and talk all day even when I have both earphones in, and will even follow me into the restroom. As much as I would like to tell him fuck off, he's a nice kid, just doesn't have any friends outside of work so I tolerate it for now. As I mentioned previously, I get paid on production, not hourly, so I've told him more than once to get out of my way while I'm working on cars.

My current job I've had people that's been there longer then me asking me questions lol. That being said in my old job, another call center, there was a lot of times where I just wanted to sit and read whatever article i am reading (mostly from cnn because there was very few sites we could go on and we weren't allowed to have anything at our desks) and not be bothered by anything except answering calls when they came through. Unfortunately for me there was this lady that would just always want to talk even when I wasn't in the mood and I tried to have a leave me alone or rbf but unfortunately that never happened or helped and so she just kept talking. She was an older lady and she was nice so I didn't want to just tell her to fuck off so what I would do when she looked like she was gonna talk to me is pretend I had a call. I would say the greeting and wait till she wasn't looking then go back to reading when I was safe.

The people that were highest on my list of annoyances were the ones who constantly felt the need to repeat whatever pop culture phrase was relevant at the time. Shit like "You are the weakest link, goodbye" and "you're fired" got old real fast. Austin Powers and Borat spawned a lot of this shit too.

Yep I've had that people pretending there boss but not thankfully he left I've learnt from years of experience drama isn't necessarily needed and I been in loads of jobs yes people that need help bern there longer than I but never listen and had to remind them all day there still here and this is work in a kitchen

I was kind of like the 2nd person the first few months I worked, they had me working mostly chemicals when I started so when I got questions about other aisles I didn't know where the product was (this is a fairly small neighborhood market so all we have is groceries but chemicals, pets, and paper are the 3 easiest aisles to be on so I see why they started me out there but I would've learned the store faster if they put me on a different aisle everyday, also we had the 1st guy a couple months before I was fired and I think he's still there, he gave me captain useless vibes as the actual managers would tell us one thing and he'd say something else claiming it's more efficient when in reality it wasn't

I remember working at a Sonic in the kitchen and it was icy and snowy outside so no customers came in, so I decided to deep clean the kitchen and I made that shit like new after about 5 hours. Next day, this fuckin 19 year old "manager" literally tells my boss that SHE was the one who did it. All she did that day was sit in the corner and scroll through instagram all day.
