Igoumenitsa in Greece to Brindisi in Italy. My ferry isn't booked until around 2pm so I get some time to finish drying out my clothes after the weather dumped everything on me the day before.
The day before was a bit of a downer to be totally honest. I was soaked, cold and not particularly enjoying the experience. I woke up though with some kind of new resolve to just keep going and treat it as a new challenge. It was now all about getting all the way back to the UK without getting wet! The new challenge gave me a sense of purpose and off I went. I needed coffee first though.
Getting the ferry from Igoumenitsa was straight forward enough, apart from the issue with the wrong stamp put in my passport at the Turkey/Greece border a couple of days before. All good in the end thankfully!
Quite nice to have a day off riding, although I was ready for a long ride when I got off the boat. Not sure about the Pizza I ate in Brindisi, a speciality apparently. When does a pizza have greens on it though??

That's a great bike. Yea there really is no need to spent 10k on a bike. These older bikes are very capable.

So glad I'm not the only one who finds ferry ports the most confusing places in the world. No signposting, no information, let's spin the tourist around as much as possible. Keep up the great work. You're right to highlight the weather, it can make or break a bike tour

It was like being allowed to just ride around in a gigantic car park. I found it in the end, it was the gigantic red and white ship docked where all the trucks were parked... that was the give away. Haha.

Great video mate, and your videos are great to watch, you’re worth every subscriber you get and more 👍 Riding bikes releases the stress we all too much put us in. And opening up on the mental health issues is a good thing to do, we men have to learn to open up and be able to talk about it, a bike community seems a good place to start 👍 Keep up doing what you do and keep throwing those videos up on us 😊👍

You're right about the biker community being a good place to touch on mental health stuff, it has a lot of respect and acceptance at its core. That's a solid foundation for good mental health.

Enjoying the videos. As a 35 year all weather bike commuter the best investment you can make is in your bike gear. It’s the big secret people don’t tell you at the start, a good set of all weather textiles will now cost 2k + nowadays which may seem mad, however they make a huge difference day in day out.

I think if I start to do a lot of bad weather travels some good textiles might be worth it. Getting wet is the worst when you're riding!

Throughly enjoyed that. Interesting and seemed a little confusing navigating around the port of Igoumenista let alone the stamp issue at customs….eeek. I’ll be watching this one a few times to try and familiarise and memorise the port entrance etc. Thanks for posting. 👍👍

It was pretty straight forward really, just me getting all confused about it. The stamp issue was a bit of a nightmare. I guess I should have checked the stamp at the border!

Haha, yea. When i'm looking through the footage its amazing how many times I have no idea where I am! Mental health for us guys is so important, something I've only touched on a few times, but the connection between good mental health and a sense of community seems so obvious to me.

Hi, thanks mate. Getting a few messages about this recently so will likely be an episode to go through it all in detail. It's pretty simple though, GoPro 10, Insta 360x3 and a Dji gimbal camera. On the way down I just had the GoPro and the gimbal. I do have a Fujifilm Xt3 as well for stills and some video, like when I am sitting down and talking to the camera. Still haven't perfected the helmet cam thing though, quite a lot of noise at speeds above 50 mph.
