It still sounds like anime protagonist backstory where he buys cheap equipment and went to a cheap golf course and despite all that he still had a blast with what he had. Though it could also apply to the poor side character that never won against the slightly rich protagonost. Slightly rich bc there's gonna be some stupidly rich guy into golf that people would fawn over.

Joey would be arguing Australian slang, like "brekkie" and "arvo" are words, Connor would be arguing British words, like "innit", and Garnt would argue something like "Guys, we can all agree... that we aren't including Welsh, right? That seems fair." And Joey and Garnt share the same brain cell, so they would both agree. It would such glorious chaos.

I swear when there is congestion in traffic, every other cars make things worse because they only care for themselves. Like the + junction, when the traffic is bad, every car be like “that yellow x mark spot, i sit” and that’s in the middle of the junction. THEREFORE WE ALL CUCK EACH OTHER AND NO ONE CAN PASS EVEN IF THE TRAFFIC LIGHT IS GREEN.

Joey and Connor are still stuck in the same old school MMO mindset, which can be a big deterrent when trying to get into FFXIV. From my experience it's better to approach the game as a JRPG fan first since the story is the main driving point, which is also why some people are calling it more of an RPGMMO than an MMORPG.
@IABJordan
@IABJordan 2 жыл бұрын
100%. I’ve tried all of the other big MMO’s and couldn’t get into them, just assumed I wasn’t into the genre. Until my friend got me to try FFXIV a little over a year ago. I’m still not caught up on the story because I’m taking my time and enjoying every aspect of the game. A majority of the “problems with MMO’s” that Joey and Connor were both bringing up were completely foreign to me, because I haven’t run into any of those situations.
@JennyDarukat
@JennyDarukat 2 жыл бұрын
It's an online RPG with an MMO at the end if you really care for it - took me a bit to get into as an ex-WoW player but it's stuck for good now I think. It's just really compelling from a story & character fantasy perspective
@PocketKanin
@PocketKanin Жыл бұрын
This! The creator made the game with casual players in mind, you don’t have to do huge raids unless you want to and even if you do they stay there forever. You can take your time on things, the only stuff that’s timed is like optional holiday events and those take not even 30 minutes to do and the time limit is like 2+ weeks maybe.

The whole car discussion makes me so happy I live in a walkable city with good public transport so I no longer have to deal with that shit anymore. The reason why almost every 16 year old in America drives is because, outside a handful of cities, you literally have no mobility or independence otherwise. Cars represent freedom for those people - not even metaphorical freedom. There's nothing, not even a corner shop within walking distance in most cases. You're fortunate if there's even a sidewalk that doesn't abruptly end. It's dystopian. It's also a reality that's impossible for people from Europe/Japan to understand unless you've lived it

I know where I was in the US it wasn't legal for parents to teach (on public roads at least), but it was one of those things that people did anyway. We did have an actual teacher, but mine acted like parents were supposed to be the ones doing it and got annoyed that mine hadn't. That also only applied to people under 18. Once you hit 18 you can take the test without any instruction and go straight to a full license without any restrictions.
@MindRamble
@MindRamble 2 жыл бұрын
In Germany we have the get taught by a authorised teacher, pass theory and practical test, then practice with parents. You basically pass your test before your 18th birthday and are only allowed to drive with your "parents" and with 18 you get your real license

In Finland, elementary schools and secondary education usually has a summer vacation of 10 weeks. From start of June(the first weekend, or last weekend of May, if it went that way) to mid-August. Christmas holidays are usually 2-3 weeks, depending on what day Christmas itself sets on. Also about a week off in mid-October and another in mid-February(third week usually but it varies whether you're in southern or northern Finland).. on top of that, Easter holiday is usually from Good Friday to the next monday.. just a long weekend, really...

Connor's speed running point in my eyes: Completing 1000 Puzzle for the first time = fun Trying to do that same Puzzle but faster is the same exact Puzzle but with no element of new thinking just doing the same thing faster = boring I'd rather do a bunch of different Puzzle that are difficult rather than do the same Puzzle and have it become easier. Fun is in the grind boys.
@GeebusCrust

I like speedrunning, but I see his point. Speedrunning is different from rage games because instead of mastering a single mechanic, you usually have to master manipulations of the game mechanics to do things faster than intended. Also, if you're a speedrunner, you'll attract interested people to your streams. As a personality with a KZfaq channel to populate from that content, you'll run off a lot of viewers.

Learning to ride motorbike in these countries is easy. Mastering it, though, is a whole different thing. US here. Where I lived you had to have a certain amount of hours driving with an experienced driver (My parents and step-parents all pitched in on that which was cool) and I had to take Driver's Ed and have a certain amount of hours with the course instructor and observation time with my peers. So there usually would be 3 or 4 of us piling into the Driver's Ed car with our instructor and taking turns driving on a Saturday or Sunday. Thing is, my town had active railroads and there were special rules for that. We had an entire class day to instruct us what to do when crossing a railroad and what to do if we got stuck on one and there was a train coming and so on. Well, my grandmother had worked at the DMV for decades. Most of her working adult life was spent there and she knew EVERYONE. All the instructors, testers, traffic cops and so on. Everyone knew her. So I was just nervous as all hell when I had to take my test because I knew if I screwed up she'd find out and I'd get an earful. She was not the coddling type. She made sure one of my cousins retook the driving test several times because he was honestly really awful at situational awareness and she didn't want him to get into an accident so took it upon herself to continue to instruct him until he got better at it. So I naturally was nervous when I had to take my driving test, thinking I HAD to be perfect. It didn't help that the tester I happened to get was one of my grandmother's oldest friends and gave me a whole speal about how just because I'm her granddaughter doesn't mean he'll go easy on me. Yup, thanks, not helping dude. But luckily I happened to be a decent driver at that point. I only flubbed backing into a parking spot but the dude actually gave me a break because he realized how nervous he had made me, gave me advice on how to back up and had me do it again. And I did it well. He told me to practice it more and passed me. Out of all of my cousins I was the first to pass first time. Not sure if I was genuinely a good driver or just happened to catch that dude on a day he was feeling sympathetic lol.
